I used to come here a lot when I was kid.  There is a huge parking lot, so don't worry about finding parking!  The bookstore is pretty big.  In the front, there is Joe Muggs Cafe (it's okay), and you can keep walking to the back and you'll eventually hit the magazine section, which basically covers the entire back wall.

My favorite section is the Clearance section in the middle of the bookstore, around the Customer Service counter.  There, you will find  a few rows of recent bestsellers, miscellaneous fiction, and children's books and such for sale.  Every now and then I find the book that I need to complete my collection of some trilogy or whatever, and the book is often $8 or less when it retailed for like $15 or more...

All in all, a decent bookstore if you want something other than B&N and Borders.

Oh how I miss pretending to play Fast and Furious here with all the other kids who thought it was cool to set up weekend nights in the parking lot with their Civic SI's.

Oh wait, books? Oh yeah I think there were some here. Not very well organized, but big enough to kind of spend some time finding something interesting to read. That's about it, I mean, it's just a big B&N w/o the atmosphere, not much else to write.

ATMOSPHERE: I'm in medical school so when I'm in Augusta I basically live at a bookstore or library or wherever I can study.  Books-A-Million (BAM) is a pretty ok place for this. Nothing super nice but average looking. The cafe area has lots of small tables which can be merged to make a table for a large study group. Usually it's not too loud here. Most tables are wobbly but nothing that a napkin can't fix. It's a huge bookstore so there's lots of selection, which means lots to read on study breaks.
CAFE: Joe Muggs Cafe carries all the standard coffee shop favorites with some unique signature drinks. I really don't like their drip coffee but their Chai tea latte and expresso drinks are pretty decent. They don't sell any meal items but only pastry/candy/snack type of foods. They do have a large selection of bottled sodas, including diet and energy drinks, which are hard to come by at other bookstores/cafes.
SERVICE: All the employees here are very friendly those on the floor and working in the Cafe.
PARKING: Huge parking lot in the shopping center located behind Hooter's containing Stein Mart, Country Club, some Japanese restaurant and Jamaican restaurant.
PERKS: They now have internet access! However, it's not free :(  It's on a pay-per-day basis or access with a BAM discount club membership. They are also open later than other study spots such as Borders, Atlanta Bread Co, and Panera.
CONCLUSION: This is a place I frequent and will continue to whenever I'm in Augusta. It serves it's purpose and I get work done.
