Review from Micah M.
Los Angeles, CA
This is a used book store for the book lover. Don't come here just for cheap books. Don't come here expecting to run in, buy a book, and run out. Chances are that you'll get trapped in an odd conversation with John, one of the owners; he reminds me of a character out of Harry Potter, but he's a really nice guy.
If you're a true book lover, you will want to move into this store. Just walking into the store gives you that calming, pleasing scent of well-worn books. I wish they sold that in an air freshener. There are books stacked everywhere and arranged in every which way. Like I said, great for a book lover that's looking to peruse the shelves; bad for a person looking to find something.
Amazingly, though, simply asking for help locating a certain book will almost always yield results. It may not follow the Dewey decimal system, but the people who work there know it like the back of their hands. -

What good are shelves full of books if you can't find a damn, dang, darn thing? Insanely cluttered with stacks and stacks of books. The store is larger than it looks from outside but that isn't always a good thing. Most of the books were beaten up and over priced for their condition.
I like to wander around a bookstore and just browse. Maybe bounce from section to section and see where the books take me. That was impossible here. It was more of a brisk walk through the aisles and a bounce and a jump over stacks of books on the floor. OCD had enough and after a very quick look through the fiction section I was outta there.Listed in: BookWorms!!

Had the day off work and yelped my local area to see what was around. I came across this store and figured I give it a shot. The first thing that struck me was a sense of "Wow", the place is covered from floor to ceiling with books. There was a woman there who was very kind and pleasant, who showed me around. She was welcoming and answered all my questions. With her help I came across some books I hadn't seen in years, immediately I grabbed them. I spent another hour or so in the store and came across so many interesting things.
Beware! I had the unfortunate luck of talking to John one of the owners... Let's just say after a few minutes with this man I put back everything I found and walked out of the store. His demeanor is very unpleasant, he complained the entire time I was there and then proceeded to try and charge me an arm and a leg for a handful of items. I will admit that some of the items were rare, but the condition they were in and the amount he asked for was beyond outrages. I love a good book and don't mind spending $5 - $10 on a used book, IF it's in decent condition. I as well came across a rare game in which he tried to charge me $65 for... My jaw dropped. The game was missing half of it's contents and was in poor condition.
I'm sorry to say this, but I will never return to that store. I would rather spend my time with amazon or eBay, pay half the price for the same items and have them be in decent condition with all their parts/pieces. -

This place has lots of books, but it is hard to look through because they are all double and triple stacked. Even though they are organized by topic...they're not organized beyond that. The books are overpriced too. Almost anything that isn't small fiction paperback is $15+, and many aren't in good condition. They do not seem to understand what reasonable prices are. Used college textbooks with highlighting and torn pages are priced the same as "like new" versions online.
Not only is their pricing bizarre, but so are the employees. One of them trapped my friend in an incoherent conversation that sounded like things a drunk bum in Hollywood would say. In fact, we thought he WAS a bum, until we realized he worked there. The other, stood there glaring at me then asked if I was finding anything interesting in a way that seemed like he thought I was a shoplifter.
Not sure if we'll go back. It's annoying to search through the mess to finally find something that I would get, but don't because it's overpriced. -

Came here when I saw a sale sign. It is tucked in the back end of a plaza, so I would have missed it if I wasn't seriously searching for it. An older gentleman was running the place as I entered. Definately disorganized. There is some attempt to keep things in order, but I did notice that their animal/nature section was stuffed with religious books. I did come out with something though, but I agree with a previous reviewer that the prices are a bit much for a second-hand bookshop. Come prepared to book hunt!
