I heard about BookCrossing through geocaching.  I registered back in 2005, but hadn't done anything until this year.  I re-registered and today successfully released my first book.

I like the vibe at the site, and of course the activity itself.  The site is still a bit clunky in operation, but one catches on easily enough.

Stop by and read all about it.  Better yet, gather those books that are just collecting dust and release them for others to read. :)

this looks like a super cool idea so i went ahead and registered for free on their site and we'll see what happens. i don't read to often but i do hope this effort will encourage me to read more. register a code and set your books free? pretty cool but i'm sure i'll be leaving books around more often than i'll be looking to see if they are left behind. kind of makes you think where those books were exactly. hell i like to read while i'm in the bathroom so i don't want to think about that too much.

i own so many cookbooks and it's my hobby to collect them and cook it's going to be very hard to depart with any thing from my collection. then again it would be very cool to spread the joy of cooking and hopefully seeing that this book will get around. i do know i have family with books that never see the light of day so it's time for me to get cracking!
