There we were, desperately searching for a bank before the all day concert we were headed to when all of a sudden the car turned itself into the parking lot of a random book store. It had just appeared out of nowhere, and we were powerless. Which seems to be a theme with us and bookstores.
We had no expectations walking in but were pleasantly surprised to find a completely respectable selection of fiction and literature. Unfortunately, being the insane bibliomaniacs we are, we already owned all the best ones. Upon searching the other sections I came upon our dear Fabio and a photo session ensued. The three of us shared something special in the Romantic History section.
Overall, if you find yourself in Palm Springs (which one really should avoid) The Book Rack has a respectable selection at below average prices. -

This is a sad excuse for a used bookstore, unless you want the cheap mass-market paperbacks for mostly bad fiction and mystery books. Two stars only because the staff were nice and what little they have is organized OK.

Mediocre. The desert is a wasteland when it comes to used book stores. There used to be another in Palm Springs, but it closed years ago. I go to LA for all my used book needs.
