When you happen upon this park, it's like finding Wonderland. The park is literally a slope. Walk up the stairs, admire the flowers, and plunk your bottom down for a great view of Wisconsin (Ave). Walk down the hill, your feet have that disembodied kind of run that happens when you careen downhill and you can't control the movement of your legs. Fun Gravity.
This park is really beautiful and relaxing. I wonder if they frown on sledding down the hill (into traffic)? -

Need an escape from the hustle and bustle of Wisconsin Ave in Georgetown? I know the place for you...it's Book Hill Park!
Book Hill Park is situated next to the Georgetown Branch of the DC Library and is the perfect place to sit, read a book and enjoy the fall weather. The steps lead you up a grassy hill to a little area of benches where you can sit and admire the view.
The day I came was a perfect fall day. There were two others reading some books while I snapped photos. Though it may seem like not many people know about this place, when you see the carved initials in many of the trees, you will realize this is not true.
Book Hill Park has just made my list of places to come when I need to get away and find peace and quiet.Listed in: A walk in the park!, Click Click Click

This cute little park offered some welcome relief from the afternoon heat and a great view of a busy evening rush hour in Georgetown.
