Just ate here for the very first time. Being from Chicago, I was VERY skeptical. A place I could get Chicago style BBQ in Texas? No way - but WAY! I walked in and felt like I was back home on the West side of Chicago. The rib tips were wonderful. Served with a side of fries, mild sauce and a pop. What more can I say - but GREAT!
I will truly be a regular.

The ONLY reason they're getting 4 stars instead of 5 is because of their lack of a restroom for hand washing. I mean, it is a bbq restaurant after all... a sink is an integral part of eating bbq.

    Okay, on to the food...

I found this place using the Yelp app while I was driving to the store to pick up supplies for my business. Traffic was horrible and I was hungry. So many choices... the "Chicago Style BBQ" part just caught my attention above all else. I was thinking, "what in the world is Chicago bbq?"

I have had bbq all over the place and made according to many different traditions and standards. I am a true Central Texas bbq fan myself... nothing can beat it... NOTHING!

Anyway, I called the number and asked the question that I asked myself and was told that I would have to just go and experience it for myself. So, I did just that. I turned around and went on the hunt for some Chicago style bbq. It's a little difficult to find and it's not like any other bbq joint... it's more of a walk up window than a restaurant.

Boogie, the owner, was incredibly nice and did a good job of making me feel comfortable about my decision. He said to me, "you want Chicago?"

I said, "yes."  And it was on...

I got a generous helping of rib tips, a side of chicago baked beans, and *FANFARE* FRENCH FRIES WITH BOOGIE'S BBQ SAUCE!

OH MY LAWD! This combination should be illegal!

While I was waiting on my food, another patron asked for extra sauce for her fries. I thought she was just another woman... you know how they demand stuff and ruin food by putting sauce all over it.  Give me the meat and nothing but the meat... same goes for potatoes.

Boy did I eat those words (and some chicago style bbq)...

The meat had a nice smoky flavor and those bite sized tips were easy to devour... the beans were sweet, just like I remembered baked beans as a kid.  It's been a while - as a Mexican, I have been eating pintos a la borracho for the past... oh, my whole life - and they were the perfect compliment with some white bread.

    THEN!

AT THE BOTTOM OF THE BASKET!

JUST SITTING THERE ALL INNOCENT LOOKING...

    French fries in bbq sauce...

    How anti-climactic, right?

    WRONG! *SLAP*

I had never imagined that such a combination would make me turn into a farm animal and not even stop for a breath... I just kept eating and eating.

    LAWD!

All-in-all... the food here is excellent BUT if there's one thing you have GOT to try... It's those French Fries in Boogie's BBQ Sauce... Put it on your bucket list!

    Chicago Style BBQ... who knew?
