Bonta St Bistro is a hidden treasure. The decor is a little country, with a twist of a french flair. The food is amazing. My boyfriend had a breakfast burrito it was incredible. I went with eggs & bacon. 5 stars for such a simple order? Ya, it was that good. The owner Katie, is a delight. We were lucky enough to get Sunny as our waitress. Her name & smile are one in the same.

We had a similarly pleasant experience as those of other recent reviewers of the Bonta Street Bistro. Had three lunches here on a recent trip to Graeagle with friends, and sandwiches and salads were uniformly terrific, accompanied by competent, warm service.
A few tips not (yet) mentioned by other yelpers:
* Dog-friendly lawn seating. Our two well-behaved canines were welcomed, and with plenty of distance between diners, there's little chance of annoying your neighbors.
* We tried several breads with our paninis (focaccia, marble rye, dutch-crunch), but the hands-down favorite was the rustic italian, which was recommended by the waitress as her favorite.
* In spite of the traps around the lawn, the wasps here are well-trained to descend on your lunch within a few minutes of the food's arrival. Not too many, and not too aggressive, but if such things bother you, plan to eat indoors (seating inside is nice as well).
* Free wi-fi.
Great atmosphere, food, and service. Wouldn't hesitate to return next time we're in the area. -

Ok. I'm impressed. I came here with about 6 other family members for lunch and we were all very very very pleased with how delicious everything was and how peaceful it is to have lunch out in the garden.
We all ordered a variety of sandwiches including the chicken salad, the turkey with cranberry, and the beef with peppers. The homemade focaccia was a big hit with the group. I had the daily special which was a roast beef sandwich with arugula, tomatoes, melted provolone, pesto, and sun dried tomato aioli. It was phenomenal! The pesto and aioli gave it a great garlicky creamy flavor and the homemade roast beef was hearty and delicious. Everyone was also thrilled with the pasta salad that comes with the sandwiches, my mom even made a note of all the ingredients so she can recreate it at home.
If you're up in this neck of the Sierras, definitely stop by for a fantastic lunch. This is not your average mountain food! -

My wife and I came here on a lazy Sunday morning. We strolled in between 11am and 12noon and were a little disappointed to learn that they stop serving breakfast at 11am. Not to worry however as we enjoyed our salads and sandwiches in lieu thereof.
The service was prompt and there was no issue with substituting focaccia bread on a very tasty pecan chicken salad sandwich. They also have a special touch with their espresso machine and served our cafe mocha's promptly . . . and in tall mugs!
All-in-all, we had a very relaxing brunch experience, seated on the front porch where we could enjoy a warm and comfortable late June mountain day, with birds chirping in the nearby bird houses, and thoroughly enjoy the snow caps of the surrounding mountain tops. (See photo.) -

The food was good; I had the breakfast Burrito, it lacked flavor but they gave us sour cream and salsa on the side... Maybe inside would have been better. My friends had the Benedict with pesto hollandaise sauce and the veggie omelet. The food was good, not amazing, but it served its purpose of filling our appetites. The experience was great. The fresh made cinnamon rolls were delicious and baked just right. The service was nice and to the point. If you're in the area check this place out as it is cozy, good, and delightful.

I came here with a group of 6 friends from a conference/retreat at the White Hawk Ranch (another great place). It was recommended by one of the shopkeepers in town. It was the perfect place for lunch. We sat outside in the garden drinking ice tea. For lunch we each had something different. My sister ordered the Panini roast beef w/ caramelized onions and mushrooms. I had the Pecan chicken salad. We shared the sandwiches and both were great. We really liked the soup, but the potato salad was a little al dente. Overall they had very good, fresh homemade food. Everyone was happy. One note, the yellow jackets also like the food and chased us inside.

This is a very cute place that serves delicious breakfasts and I cannot wait to go back for lunch. It is cute inside and out--with friendly service and tastey food.
My only complaint was the pesto hollandaise on the eggs benedict.....I think that a classic dish needs no changing. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't what I really wanted.Listed in: The Sierra Nevadas

Our most enjoyable meal on a recent visit to Sierra Valley was breakfast at Bonta Street Bistro. We sat and watched a pair of wrens building a nest right outside the window as we enjoyed generous Mimosas and tasty breakfast dishes. And it didn't hurt any that the three staff were all very personable (that's politically-correct speak for "hot").
This place is a real gem, well worth working in to your itinerary. -

Jennifer does a great job with a small location and a small town. I highly recommend Bonta St. As a matter of fact I am phoning in an order as soon I am done here. Seafood panini with the pasta salad. The BBQ on Friday is great, the breakfast is awesome also. Their breakfast burrito would feed 3 people I think. Probably the "best" lunch in Graeagle.

Great food in the mountains where it is sometimes hard to find. Went today for breakfast with my Wife and Grandmother. Everything was very good. I had the classic benedict which was well executed. Egg cooked without being runny or too hard. Wife had breakfast burrito and she enjoyed it, it had sausage and potatoes. Grandma had french toast. She wanted pancakes, but the menu did not offer that, yet the french toast did satisfy. They were able to bring us a side of eggs quick as our little guy was hungry when we arrived. We sat outside and enjoyed the garden. We will be back when in town!

A great place. We tried lunch and breakfast here and both were outstanding. The scrambles for breakfast are quite good and the coffee is decent. For lunch we sampled quiche and a panini. The quiche was OK (the crust was a bit underbaked), but the panini was spot on. The atmosphere is nice and the servers are very friendly. Check out the decor in the bathroom.

This is a place that treats EVERYBODY the same! I saw no difference between how LOCALS and VISITORS were treated!! The waitress was super friendly, the chef came out and asked how our benedicts were. Very quaint little place. Food was delicious, prices were very reasonable and service was superb!!

This place is really cute and has a fresh, varied, tasty menu. I have not had lunch here, but did have a very satisfying ham and egg panini for breakfast. My Dad had some fantastic looking french toast and my Mom had berry-filled crepes. Service was friendly and the atmosphere very cozy. It is right on the creek and looks like it would be a wonderful place for lunch during the summer. I am definitely looking forward to returning.
