pro...my new favorite driving range.  and it's been here forever, and it's just down the street from my clinic BONITA ACUPUNCTURE & MASSAGE (shameless self-promotion here, had to do it).  great place, and with a large bucket of freshly washed golf balls going for $7.00 it's really inexpensive too.  it is much better then the one near my house but this is bonita, just looking around you will find two golf courses here.  same people own both of them.

cons...well it's much too close to the clinic, that means i will be swinging that club a bit more often then usual.  a little run down, no grass on the actual range, which means when the wind blows just right, sand storm.  but still for $7.00 a bucket, it's down right a steal...now if i could just actually hit the ball, that would be great!

Bonita Golf Courrrrrrse!

cheap as hell...
I paid 18$ for 250 balls! beat that....
sadly the driving range is meant only for amateurs for me...
it doesn't have the feel of a proper golf driving range...
but its a perfect and cheap place to start off for newbies like myself.

Although it is sort of strange to use such a word to describe a driving range, the most apt adjective would be "ghetto".

The Bonita driving range is essentially a large brown field with yard markers up to 225 yards in a barren landscape.  Small patches of green grass, flags, and barrels make for some targets on the field.  It's apparent that the driving range's budget for landscaping is zero.  If the yard markers were removed, it would look more like a war zone than a driving range.

There are some heavily used mats in wooden stalls for open air or covered driving.  Also, there are spots in the unkempt grass if you'd like to use your own tees.  There is only one building on the lot, which is a small shack with golf supplies for sale in the front room, a service window on the side, and a horribly dirty unisex restroom in the back.

However, at $18 for a huge bucket of about 350 balls, our hero can't really complain about the state of their driving range.  Even their range cards offer a larger percentage discount than other driving ranges.  For the pricing, it is pretty ghetto fabulous.

If you're a golf newbie, it's easy to tell by looking at what's poking out of the golf bags of other golfers that this isn't a range where hot shots come to show off their 250 yard drives.  Our hero was hard pressed to see anyone sporting Callaway or TaylorMade drivers here.  If you're hitting errant balls with your Dunlop or Wilson clubs, the Bonita Range is a place you wont be embarrassing yourself at.

PROS:
- Ridiculously cheap.
- Both mats and grass driving with no difference in price between the two.

CONS:
- No attempt at landscaping here.  Not exactly "easy on the eyes" to say the least.

My favorite range to smack some golf balls. Partially because it's pretty close to where I live. Sure the grass could be a little bit greener, but given the price for a bucket I can give them a pass. I also appreciate the fact that you don't have to pay extra for the putting green & chipping.

My weekly stop --- I will tell you why.
For $7, you will get 100 balls! That's less than 7cent each...this price is unheard of~ it's open day & night (with lights after the sun goes down)

It's quite small but you don't need a huge place to just to practice your swing. Go there, trust me, you will keep coming back like I do.

EDIT: They just jacked up the price to $8, still a great deal tho.

100 balls for $seven...need to say more?....real putting greens with challenging ups, downs and slopes....short game practice area.....plenty of driving range stalls...some covered..some not...taking uno star for poor maintainence of greens....yellow/brownish range....putting greens scattered with weeds...cheap, good, practice in bonita...
