7 reviews for Bonello's New York Pizza
Saw this place reviewed by the old "Table for Two" TV show. The pizza was ok. What I really love was the Philly Cheesesteak. The bake a fresh loaf using the pizza dough and use nice chunks of steak and bell peppers with olive oil. That fresh baked bread makes the difference and you can taste the olive oil in the filling.
It can be very greasy and it is quite large, so come hungry.
While they're pizza is way better than Domino's, Pizza Hut and Papa John's, the place deserves a 3.75 star rating. Not quite a 4 but I've only been here once and there's only so much I could write about.
It's pizza, I wouldn't say it's 'gourmet', but a step up from the chain pizza shops.
We did order their chicken wings and the Isalata Caprese salad. The salad has fresh mozzarella, roma tomatoes, basil, and olive oil. It's actually really good. It looks and tastes as good as it sounds too.
Both of those two sides came with their little garlic balls. If you've been to Sbarro in the mall, then you know these beauties are yummy. Its so you don't have to order them on the side.
You can see a picture of the Isalata Caprese http://i37.tinypic.com...
For the most part the price wasn't bad. We paid $32 all together. We got a 1 large/topping pizza with 10 buffalo wings for $19.99 and the salad is $9.95.
It fed three people and the salad lasted till the next days lunch.
Would I go back? Yup! If I was too lazy to drive to Gourmet Pizza Shoppe (and that place is about 15 minutes from my place, while Bonello's is 5.)
If you're looking for good pizza in the inland empire, this is probably as good as it gets. They're a little expensive compared to the usual pizza hut, papa johns, etc, but well worth it. They don't deliver, but they can usually have your pizza ready in 15-20 minutes.
My favorite is the fresh tomatoes, fresh chopped garlic, and fresh basil. It get's a little expensive because the toppings add up but it's so good. Their beef and onion is pretty good too.
I love this place. Has the best cheese pizza I ever had. I'm don't get hard for just cheese pizza but this place does it for me.
The other dishes are great too! The pasta dishes are fantastic. They also have these awesome garlic dots that look more like bread knots that are to die for. They come with the pasta dishes. You will not stop eating these if you are a bread person. The best side bread ever.
This is a rink-a-dink place and do mostly takeout. If you ever want to eat in here it is so stinking casual. I LOVE IT! The staff has been great and oh so helpful. The portions are huge. My hubs who eats like a piggins even has to take some home.
If you like Meatball sandwiches....... these are Jizz-licious! They make the bread out of pizza dough. The chicken parm sandwich is made the same way that is so great.
The pizza and sandwiches are so reasonable. The pasta dishes are a bit more but 2 people can share.
They serve beer and stuff here as well.
Awesome pizza sub combo for lunch! Pizza has just the right texture, but the sauce could be a little less sweet imho. The garlic knots are insane, a definite pleasant surprise when ordering a salad or lunch combo. The servers are friendly and make you feel as though you're in a family joint. Hole in the wall, not much inside but definitely worth it!
When I first went into Bonello's New York pizza it had literally just opened and they were so super friendly and the food was incredible. There pizza sub combo's are amazing, about 8-10 bucks(depending on toppings) the combo includes a salad 4 garlic knots 18" long sub looking pizza and a small drink. The Italian salad dressing at Bonello's is incredible it's a balsamic vinegar/oil combo with a really good combo of spices. It is very deff a small strip mall little place, however the people are friendly and a nice atmosphere. I hope you all enjoy it!!
Bonello's New York Pizza is in a small little town. Away from the college atmosphere, Bonello's serves new york style pizza. If it was anywhere near UCR they would definitely be the place to go. Their cheese pizza, is well, cheesy. Not too oily, their dough isn't stale or too crispy. Their homemade marinera sauce is slightly sweet, and just adds to the taste. In the inland empire, I haven't found a single place that can compete. They're also very affordable. 13.99 for an 18" cheese pizza.
I also heard that their sandwiches are delicious too. 18" subs for 10 bucks. I wished they were closer to the campus, but thinking about, I would gladly drive here where it's more of a secret so their quality don't go down.
