Not bad.  Not at same level as http://baroness.com in NYC, but then again she's only 1X per month.  I went on Nov 18.  Only complaint was that I had ass less chaps on and not one spanking from any of the women in the club!  One did thank me for coming...but I was hoping for a spanking or at least a little hand grab!  Next time?

Wow, I actually found a club I like!  It doesnt hurt that I can rock my vinyl and feel right at home.  The people are awesome!  The music was a great mix of dancy alternative.  The "play area"  is fun to watch, there was some very impressive rope work happening while I was there.

A very fun atmosphere and the people only enhance the experience. Good music, great DJ's, hot girls dancing in cages and a fun dungeon to play around in. People of every type can find something in BaGG with the right attitude.

BAGG has bucked the odds and survived the dreaded venue change TWICE in its history.  From my first visit at the Troc to its return to 4th St (now called The Glass Kat), this party has never failed to be truly top notch in my book.

BAGG is as much a part of the SF night club scene as any other weekly destination and I hope its still kicking it 15 years from now.  Even if it means I have to go in my wheelchair pushed by a hot young nurse.

Long Live BAGG.

I was tempted to write a one star review. Why? Because the Marina douchebag quotient at BaGG is low, and I don't want them finding out about the place and scaring off all the incredibly hot girls. I've attended BaGG for more than a decade, and I have to say that it's only gotten better with time. The space is ideal, my only complaint is that the upstairs gets really crowded with people torturing each other.

Tips:
1) For a truer BDSM experience, find DJ Shatter and tell him that Bruce Clifford sent you.
2) Find Danny the bartender and tell him I told you to tell him to "hurt you". You may not survive.

If you're into that sort of thing, you've probably already heard of BaGG. It's kind of hard to describe to someone who has never been. Some nights are themed. Some nights have blood wrestling girls on stage. Some nights have contests. What is always in fashion at BaGG is a great mix of people, music to keep you dancing, and fun though to last call. I've never regretted bringing any friend there, no matter their taste in music or clubs. It is the people that truly make BaGG amazing. I'll always be a fan!

Ever since I moved to SF I heard of this awesome club called Bondage a Go Go, but at that time it was 21+.  I was 19 then and I waited patiently for my 21 birthday so I could go out and get tied up with the best of them.  And then IT happened.  The club moved from the Cat Club to the Glass Kat the month of my 21st birthday.  I was disappointed that I waited and then they changed the age limit, but it was OK because it was exactly what I had waited for.  Hot girls, hot go go dancers, really strong drinks made by the best bartender Danny, and lots of cool people to talk to.

The past 4 years have been fun and I love going!  There is no better place on a Wednesday night and I love being around people who actually put effort into their appearance.  Way to go BaGG! Keep it up!

I was a regular for quite a while - business has gotten me busy, so I can't make it out nearly as often.  The people are NICE and friendly - almost everyone is willing to have a conversation with you.  The music is hit or miss, for sure. The drinks are strong - go to Danny downstairs - he's the best!!

A great mix of people, and never a dull moment!

Been going to BaGG for about four years now.  We were impressed with how laid back and accepting the crowd in general was, as well as how varied the play and entertainment was.

The crowd tends to be an even mix of regulars, returners, and new folks.  People come to dance, see and be seen, engage in voyeurism, and play themselves.  Whatever your comfort level is, BaGG caters to it.

The dungeon is well-run, and features everything short of fire-, blood-, and scat-play.  Sure, some scenes seem light, but there are definitely heavier ones as well, plus there's almost alwaysy top-notch ropework going on.

The cover charge is nominal (especially for SF) and drinks are reasonably priced and well-done.

The staff is thoroughly professional, and the regulars keep a sharp eye out as well; it's one of the very few venues at which I feel comfortable letting friends go off on their own (especially female friends), completely confident that sleazes and haters will be noticed and shot down immediately and with vigor.

And the go-go dancers are not to be missed!  =)

I can't imagine living or even visiting San Francisco and not coming to this club.  Yes, it's fun and there are the sexiest people you'll ever meet here.  But it's more than that.  It's a really great community.

For anyone interested in fetish/BDSM, this is THE best place to start.   However, this club would still be fun and exciting if you weren't into exploring fetish/BDSM.

Protip: put more effort into what you're going to wear when going here than your would elsewhere.  You don't have to be wearing latex/leather/PVC, but it helps.

Protip2: Check out BaGG on Tribe.  If you've never been to the club before and are planning on going by yourself, or with others who've never been, you can meet people on Tribe who will clue you into making the most of the club.

I adore this club and the atmosphere AND THEY HAVE AN INDOOR SMOKING LOUNGE how rare is that these days. The DJ's play a varied types of music from new wave to pop to punk to 80's and goth industrial. It's a ;arge facility the bathrooms are well kept and clean. The food is great and can be purchased till midnight wich is great cous i like to eat a little late. The bartenders are very nice and friendly and will make the drink right, I love that they have two large bars also. And if you are a member of there tribe and you rsvp YOU GET IN FREE BEFORE 10 PM thats awsome as well.

Couture Latex. . . tall boots. . . .corsets. . .where the else can I go wearing my fabulous custom fetishwear and be amongst others dressed the same? BAGG! I swear the smoking room made me quit, but it was nice when I did smoke not to have to go outside. Strong cocktails - gotta love that! There was always an Asian dude cross dressed, tied up and just. . . . stuck on the chaise lounger in the Women's bathroom which ALWAYS makes me do a double take and smirk. I love BAGG when it is crowded and my girlfriends happen to be there too because there is nothing like dancing to The Cure in a custom latex catsuit, totally drunk on Jack and coke (so no stripper pole for me). . .being the only one in the place with no tats or piercings but feeling fabulous because everyone is so f-ing cool. . . .and before I can think about spanking the guy who just bumped into me with assless chaps . . . Billy Idol's "Dancing WIth Myself" comes on. No matter how old I get - ahhh, I will always love BAGG because it is so San Francisco fabulous! As a player not a "gawker" - this is NOT a BDSM sex club so don't believe the hype. it is one amazing anti-club where boys and girls do NOT dance together and staring into space while standing on the dance floor is just fine.

No matter how old I get - I will always wear all black, have a closet full of custom fetishwear that I don on special nights out. God I love San Francisco!

**the songs I mentioned are hardly the playlist for the night, I seem to only remember 80's songs ::laughing::

ok so for the record, this really isnt my "scene"  but some friends said they liked it and had invited me to go...
it was awesome (mind u i'm a pretty open minded and accepting person) when u walk in upstairs there were girls/guys getting hung from nylon ropes with very intricately tied knots, guys/girls getting flogged, participating in 'fire-play', getting whipped, etc. behind velvet ropes,  & as unusual as this would all seem to be, it was all done in such a professional manner that it was very acceptable and non offensive .
people where dressed very randomly, i saw people in normal clothes, suits, full fledged costumes even a guy wearing nothing more than tighty whiteys with cotton thigh high striped socks and chuck taylors. the patrons were all very polite ,i wasnt getting hit on and neither was my very good looking female friend who was wearing nothing more than a tiny top, booty shorts, fishnets, and 'shit kicker' boots, in all it was a very comfortable environment
the staff was amazing! everyone was very polite and all around cool... i will definitely be returning!

Oh Glas Kat, how I missed your toilet seats.

However, I am a little iffy on BAGG.

The floor show was great, the beer, great and great priced, and the food (Gyoza and Thai rolls) were awesome, 5 star dishes.

But
... the music was WAY too loud downstairs, to the point where we had to get earplugs (something never done at Glas before), the DJ didn't play ANY of our songs even though were were the first requesters (the music he did play was pretty bad), and the top stage (a pretty big area to dance on) was apparently reserved for ONE singular dancer because they kicked us off and wouldn't let anyone else on.

I dunno. I'm going to have to go with not worth the hype.

Whoa, this was awesome.

It reminded me of the club I used to go to a long time ago and didn't think existed anymore. Really good music, pretty go-go girls, nice and dark without being overly skeezy.

I can easily say that of all the nights I've ever gone out in San Francisco, I've heard the best music here.

"I feel like I'm watching Rocky Horror," Jean K commented at the beginning of the evening, "only at Christmas time...in a thai restaurant."

The Glas Kat is a wonderfully decorated, two tier establishment with the dance floor on the bottom and tables looking down. It fuels those voyeuristic pleasures you may have as well as a couple other kinks. The tables upstairs are divided by sheer curtains and the bar had a great selection. The Christmas tree was really out of place though...

Upstairs they had ropes, chains and various devices for your pleasure. It was an interesting experience, to say the least. I realize it's still pin-up fashion BDSM and nothing hard core, but I don't get off on being the submissive one. (I'm always the one who does the spanking ;-) )

The club was pretty empty, even by 1am. It never filled up, though I think it would bave been a lot more fun if it did. It seems like a very inner-circle sort of crowd where everyone knows each other, but the music was good and it was a great cultural experience for one night.

The pros-
-Good music (Depeche Mode, Violent Femmes, the one song from the Breakfast Club...)
-No creepers trying to dance with me when I'm with my girls (most are dancing by themselves)
-Having the confidence to where a bustier and top hat when I go out for the evening.
-Very clean bathrooms

The cons-
-Hairy old them in leather chaps (it's like pride parade all over again)
-250lb woman in leather and fishnet with her tits hanging out.
-Not enough people to really make it enjoyable.

Overall, a fun evening though.

This place is sick as hell, if you like the BDSM scene.  I really love the place because of certain dominatrix I know comes here to dance and off course do some "other" stuff, if you know what I mean.  If you are into the "alternative" scene, well this is the place for you, and is not for everyone.

Having been going to BaGG about every other month for the past year, or two, figured I should chime in with my thoughts...

I feel that it offers something very unique in urban nightlife; sure its "bondage lite" (or is that more, inspired Goth?), and not having, yet, been to the Citadel, to compare; my initial comparison is with Power Exchange, and in that case, BaGG is the hand's down winner: don't have to worry about every surface being sticky, and no flock of open-fly, wanking guys following you everywhere! Large, clean bathroom (downstairs) is a plus, too. Basically, a clean, upscale setting.

Have seen a couple of live acts there (tho that often bumps the cover up), the manager's punk band, and a friend of mine doing a solo acoustic set, pre-Pride.

I feel that the combination of the design of the space (allowing the upstairs to remain relatively quiet, and thus "talkable," while still watching the bondage-lite demos being put on by the Dungeon masters (all my gal pals are goo-goo eyed for the "dreamy" Stefanos ;-) is great.

Cool, large dance floor, good sound system and music, and the added plus of pole, cage, and stage go-go dancers. Don't usually avail myself of the smoking room, generally more fun to mill with the Hotel Utah, and restaurant next door, patrons, by hanging around out front ;-)

Youngish (i.e., 20s-30s) crowd, tho I don't get dissed as a "woman" of a certain age.

Let's me get some use out of my latex, leather, and PVC fetish outfits, so its in our "regular rotation" for Wednesdays out.

Loved "switching:" and having my subbie friend have me get bound up in ropes, and leading me around the club by a leash while in my Leather Dominatrix outfit!

They serve appetizers, 'til late, and the few I've tasted have been good, and fair value for money. If you eat dinner there, first, the $7 cover is waived, so kinda like getting a half-price dinner (Asian fusion cuisine).

Don't fret, if you don't have fetish/bondage gear, just wear black, and you'll be fine. An R vs. NC-17 venue: bare breasts require a stategic "X" of electrical tape on the nipples, and no one doing any actual sex acts.

Though seemingly cliquey, everyone is friendly & well behaved, and agree the staff clearly keep an eye on things, so no need to be "on guard" all night!

BDSM-lite with a real tight inner cliq.  GREAT group of people... but more pin up goth go go culture than the Citadel type BDSM stuff.  A weekly party that you can have fun at.  Nothing too dramatic... but great fun, awesome crowd.

It was fun the first time I went.  They had a "Rocky-no-Talky" night in full dress.  It reminded me of my deliquent teenage days of hanging out backstage after Rocky with the cast and/or getting ready to go on stage with a band.  Just good clean drunken fun to be had by all.

I went a couple other times after that and it was just no my scene.  I guess my uniform wasn't pressed properly or something?  I'll wear my black eye liner next time, I promise!

Yep. 5 stars.

I've been attending Bagg for a couple of years now fairly religiously.

The use of space is good, the drinks are always stiff, and the music *usually* is spot-on.

Like anyone else, there are those "off nights" where it seems like the DJs are just going to throw whatever track they want and the rest of us can suck it.  But that happens very rarely.

More often than not I'll be out on the dance floor, grooving to a mix of indie, electro, industrial, britpop, new wave etc.... and I won't even get a chance to sit down because the music selection is so good.

All that being said:

I go go dance here once a month.... so I've gotten to know some of these denizens fairly well: the regulars here are a bunch of sweet people, and its nice to go to a club and not feel threatened or creeeped out... and its also nice to know that

THE BOUNCERS HERE ARE LOOKING OUT FOR YOU.

Yes, YOU.  I've had an occasion or two where some jocko mc. rapper pants somehow paid his way in and proceeded to get shitfaced and obnoxious to every girl in a 10 ft radius.   I talked to our lovely bouncer guys and the situation was HANDLED.

Poor behavior isn't tolerated here, which as a single woman, is enough for 5 stars in and of itself.

Also, yeah, there is the kinky fetish people here. It that's your bag, then you'll have a great time. If its not your bag, then  you'll still have a good time at Bagg. (ooh... i can't believe I just punned!)

To sum it up:

Cover is cheap, drinks are still, clientele is sweet and respectful, the DJs actually play your requests, and the bouncers are looking out for you.

I can't think of a better way to spend my wednesday nights!

Psst... I'll tell you a secret.

I used to be a gogo dancer.

Don't ask me how. I'm not sure, exactly. The 20's were a total blur blur. I actually was a dancer in a few B Hollywood flicks, so that must have helped... (Mortal Kombat and Bio-Dome, LOL! Joey Lauren and Kylie Minogue are TINY, Cary Tagawa is a GIANT.) But anyway, when it's wall to wall flesh and vinyl and hardcore techno-industrial music and you're a broke ass student, you don't say no to getting paid to go out clubbing.

Free booze.
Free money.
Free lines... er... no lines... er... wait... no comment...

The best part: my own personal dance space -- the wrought iron cage hanging from the ceiling.

I danced at most of the goth industrial clubs in the City. You'd find me working here every Wednesday night, back when it was still new and at the Trocadero (now the Glas Kat), up on the boxes or thrashing in the cage above the throbbing crowd.

Sometimes late at night, I miss the dancing. And the mania. And the steady rain of propositions throughout the night and into the morning -- youth is truly wasted on the young.

If I could only fit back into my size 6 vinyl pants again...

What's your secret?

If you're up for hanging with pretentious, overdressed suicidal kids, this is the place to go. It's only fun when you're drunk, and that can be a little expensive.
Sometimes the music is ON, most of the time there is something left to be desired.
The best part about this place is the huge Smoking Room, complete with plush booths and tables. No music, so you can actually meet people without freezing your ass off outside.

I really love the community at BaGG! It's a place where I can go and feel loved and have a good time. The people are nice, the music is fun to dance to and it's just a really chill place to hang out on Wednesday nights.

It may not be a club for everyone, but if you are afraid of bondage and such you can always just go downstairs and dance.

So I'm not goth, I just like dressing up.  I'm blond and really that doesn't go with the goth/bondage/fetish scene - I stand out in a bad way there.  I don't have any piercings, tattoos etc - but I still manage to have a pretty good time.

The venue is two story, dance floor downstairs,  nice seating up stairs, a small little roped off area for 'play', 2 bars and a smoking room.  They also have some go go girls - if you are into it  . . .

The music can really vary - great to crap - just depends on the Dj and your subjective taste.  But you can make any time fun as long as you are willing . . .

Worth checking out if you are curious about the scene or if you are already in it  . . .

I was at this club in the very beginning as one of the original DJ's, and I still like to drop by now and again for extracurricular fun. It's interesting to see how the actors have changed, but the play is much the same--albeit with some variations here and there.

While not as wild and over-the-top as it was in the first year or 2, I still find it enjoyable for the people-watching, particularly those who find it necessary to endure mucho pain to find pleasure. Personally, I like to skip right to the pleasure--but that's me.

Recently, I brought a friend of mine from NYC, Bobby Black, to BAGG for his first experience. There happened to be a "Blood Wrestling" match that nite, and it was great theater. He liked it so much he wrote about it in his "Almost Infamous" column for High Times Magazine, where he is Senior Editor (it will appear in the Dec. 2007 issue; on sale NOW). Keep in mind that this particular fellow has led a life of hedonism that might even exceed mine, which is saying a lot. Yet, he found it cool enough to write about.

Guess that's a pretty good testamonial...

If you're not into fetish and bondage, then I'd say you probably shouldn't go in the first place. But for those of us that enjoy that sorta thing, then bondage a gogo is for you! The best nights is when they have the blood wrestling. Scary? I think not. Large blown up kiddie pool, filled with red water, and two girls in their lingerie going at it for the win. Its incredibly hot, and we all love it.
Music is a step-up from Monday Night's death guild, with bit more industrial and up tempo. Upstairs they always have someone doing rope, and dress up is always appreciated. If you're looking for a good time on a Wednesday and bondage is your thing then you should definitely make it out to this little fun venue.

Power Exchange lite for poseurs and tourists.

Back when I was young and innocent, I came here with two slutty friends. They were all ho'ed up and I was demure in a little black dress. They met guys, and I stood on the sidelines, downing beer after beer. Like a little girl lost, I wandered from room to room, witnessing the whippings and beatings, and the bad industrial music.

I wanted to leave, but my so-called friends left me. Drunk, EMO tears ran down my cheeks.

"What's wrong little girl?" a suburban blonde lady asked me. "My friends left me and I'm all alone ." I said. At this point, her equally suburban looking husband/boyfriend chimed in. 'We'll take you home." He said. "But where are you going?" I asked. ""We're going wherever you're going." He purred. At that point, his fangs came out and I saw the writing on the wall. I bolted out of there, found my friends, yelled at them, and told me to take them home.

Oh to be young and naive. Major lessons learned
1) always have cab fare.
2) pick better friends
3) don't go to clubs that suck
4) if I wanna have a threesome, it'll be on my own terms, not because I'm drunk and have nowhere to go!
