I would recommend this place to everyone! Wait might be a little while sometimes and pricy but well worth it! Breakfast foods, acai bowls, omelets, coffee, bagels, fried rice etc..

My personal favorite is the acai bowl. Tried acai bowl many places, but bogarts has one of the best acai bowl ever. Id give it a 6 star.

Oh god you people who like this place must have the patient of a saint!
AVOID THIS PLACE. NOT WORTH IT. (unless you have tons of money, time and just don't care).

First feeling I got stepping into this place was a room full of CHAOS. The "restaurant" they're running is VERY small and probably has the maximum capacity of 10 people until it starts getting unmovable.
It made me feel uneasy, stressed, and annoyed. Isn't breakfast supposed to be calm, relaxing, and everything BUT chaotic?? I mean, look at Cafe Kaila. Yeah sure their wait can be up to 40 minutes sometimes, but at least you're not surrounded by crazy techno music, annoyed customers (even the ones eating their food already), and teenage employees who look just as annoyed. Not a single person eating their food (or in the place at all) was SMILING. How sad is that??

The line went out the door, and luckily my boyfriend and I only had to wait for about 15 minutes or so till we placed our order and the counter. One breakfast burrito and their famed Acai bowl. The counter lady was on the border of rude, but at least had a tiny voice so her attitude wasn't overbearing. The burrito had a choice of one meat or vegetable. Weird. Total for both came out to $18.53.
She informed us the food would be a 20 minute wait. Boyfriend wasn't pleased, but we said okay and went outside.

When they finally called out my name for our take out order, the girl had a small, brown paper bag. I question, "this has both of them in it?". And she said yeah. Sooo I took it, said thank you, and went walking to the car.
I was shocked it was so compacted, so my boyfriend opened the top plastic container which was the burrito. It was in those small snap plastic containers like the ones Teddy's Bigger Burgers puts their kid's burgers in. I was so shocked at what I saw!!
A burrito not longer than my hand (I'm 5'2 and have tiny hands) was cut in half and squished into this container!! It had NO color to it because all it was was a tortilla wrapping a little bit of eggs, turkey bacon, and I spotted one potato. For $9 I was screaming for a refund, which I would take to buy TWO yummy burritos from BC Burrito.

We took the sadness of our breakfast to the park and ate. The acai bowl was okay. The burrito was okay. But for the amount and okayness of the food I WOULD NOT go back. I would never want to deal with a place like this when there are other breakfast spots and acai places that deserve my money and patronage. Places with nice employees, non stressful environment, and a organized operation. Even Taco Bell makes a better burrito!

They had a sign saying, "Good morning, let the stress begin". Good job on picking that, it describes this place perfectly.

Since my move back to Hawaii, I've been wanting to try food from anywhere & everywhere. And Bogart's is the only place (besides for Zippy's) which I've been to more than once in the past week. I like it THAT much!

The first time I came strictly for breakfast. Me and a friend split the crab/avocado sandwich and the ham eggs benedict. They are both meals in itself. The crab sando was a good size and came with a lot of chips. And yes, they use real crab! The eggs bene was made with real ham and sprinkled with truffle flavoring. That made it a gazillion times more yummy than it already was! The hollandaise sauce was perfect, too.

My second experience was equally delightful, but different. I went for the Acai bowl (my first one, ever! Gosh, so THIS is what I've been missing out on)?! They added drizzled honey and according to my friend, they use really good granola. The strawberries, blueberries, and bananas tasted fresh. I also tried the bagel works which consisted of a bagel of your choice (spinach), cream cheese spread (tomato), sprouts, capers, and tomatoes. They toast it just right and these ingredients were the perfect combination.

Bogart's, you might be my fav breakfast/lunch/snack place in Hawaii, so far!

    Please note: Cash ONLY!

Located on Monsarrat Ave, just outside of Waikiki in a tiny strip mall. Parking is tight during peak hours, but there's street parking.

Went there on a Wednesday morning for breakfast right after a hike and the place was packed! People were standing around waiting for others to leave to grab their tables. Since my friend raved about this place and after seeing the menu, my heart was set. So we ordered for take out. As I headed outside, a table opened up.. It was a sign that we were meant to eat there!

I ordered the crab and avocado omelet and it came with a side of home fries (chunky cut potatoes tossed with chunky grind salt and pepper). The eggs were perfectly cooked, the crab didn't taste imitation and the avocado wasn't mushy. I'm not a big fan of potatoes, it was alright, pretty good, but I only had 2 bites of it.

This was my first time there, and I must admit, it was a good change up for breakfast places. I look forward to going back and trying something else. If you're looking to try out this place, it sure doesn't hurt to go.

Neat little cafe located close to diamond head.  The place was packed and full of happy customers.

These guys offer great Acai bowls, pastries, and breakfasts.

The place is located in a small strip mall and parking is a bare, but if you're in the neighborhood, this is a great place to grab a good bite!

Bogart's is a good breakfast place in town, but be prepared for a ridiculously long wait, especially on the weekends The taro banana pancakes are good, but really it's all about the haupia sauce! The haupia sauce is DE-li-cious. My friend ordered the French toast, which was pretty good too. Nice outdoor seating, and friendly service. Oh, and did I mention haupia sauce? :)

We ate here twice during our week long stay in Waikiki and the food was amazing both times.  We had lunch once and breakfast once.

I had the steak sandwich for lunch and it was tender and seasoned well and on freshly baked bread.  It came with fries, which were ok, but I would probably opt for the salad the next time as I had some of my boyfriend's salad and it was fresh with delicious homemade dressing.

This cafe is more known for it's breakfasts and have a fairly large breakfast menu.  I had the corned beef hash, which is made fresh every morning.  It was heavenly!  It's a huge plate of food, though.  Besides the hash, you get two eggs and two scoops of rice, so you can easily split it between two people, if you want.  My boyfriend had the crab cake benedict and reported that it was very delicious.  I also had the peanut butter chocolate milkshake, which was good, but nothing too out of the ordinary.

The only downfall to this place is the slow service, so don't stop by here looking for a quick meal or some quick take-out.

First off, I would give this place 3.5 stars if I could.  I would give it 4 stars just for "Mama's Fried Rice" alone, but in total I went with a 3 because of the time is takes to get your food. Sometimes I wish you could rate food and service separately on yelp but since you cannot, I'm going to break down my review into two parts:

    FOOD: 4/5
This is a great place for breakfast! As I mentioned before "Mama's Fried Rice" is my favorite item on the menu. It's a healthier twist on fried rice and is loaded with buttery eggs and fresh veggies including wilted spinach, mushrooms, corn, and asparagus. Their selection of eggs benedicts and waffles are delicious too. I've also heard their acai bowl is pretty amazing, however I haven't tried theirs myself.

    SERVICE: 3/5
Sometimes it takes FOREVER to get your food! It's a cash only place with just 1 register, and sometimes it can take up to 15 minutes just to place your order. They have only 1 cashier that also helps make coffee so sometimes she'll stop taking orders to help the rest of the staff even when there's a long line. Then, once you place your order it can take quite a while to get your food, especially during peak hours. The last time I was there it took me 15 minutes to order and another 20 minutes to get my to-go order of fried rice.

All in all, I recommend this place on a weekday but I would stay away during brunch hours on the weekends. Seating is limited and parking even more so. But if you happen to pop in on an off day and you aren't in a rush, I definitely recommend this place.

I am mostly reviewing for the acai bowl. At leasta for the acai bowl, it's one of the best I've had on the island. I like how it is filled with fruits. Granted, it may not quite be the authentic acai you'd find in Brazil, but no one else on the island makes it better than them (and probably including the mainland). The blueberry, banana, and strawberry slices are really filled to the brim. The cost of the acai bowl is also not outrageous ($8.75 before tax), consider its size and what other people are selling it.

I would say this though -- the wait can be a little while. Even if you go on a weekday at around 10am, you might still have to wait a good 15 minutes to order, because of all the tourists. They DON"T take credit card, or at least the sign claims.

Moreover, I can see that other items on the menu may be over-priced. We once ordered the pancake with haupia syrup. That thing was humongous, but I don't think it's worth the money we paid for (+ it really is just lots of pancake + haupia syrup). For these, they don't get a 5-star from me.

We went here on New Years day, as they were one of the few places open.  We got there about 730a and there was parking available and seats were available too.  I ordered the Ham eggs benedict and my wife had french toast.  Both tasted pretty good and had nothing bad to say about them.  The ham was thick and the eggs were perfect, but I dont like breakfast potatoes or the french bread bottom so maybe thats why I rate them as average.  My wife French toast was thick and a little eggy, but were good too.  Items are a little pricy, as our food and drink came out to about $26.  They give you a big mug of coffee, but no refills (.75).  I would eat here again, but would not wait or hunt for parking for this place.

Yummy acai bowls! I still like Blue Hawaiian better but Bogarts does a pretty damn good job. They are HUGE! ($9.15) Definitely enough for 2 people. My friend and I still had a little left after sharing. The granola is crunchy and not too sweet. The bowl is topped with lots of strawberries, blueberries, and bananas and then has a honey drizzle on top.

Its great to stop by after KCC farmers market but seating's terrible. I've been lucky the two times I've been but maybe its because I was eyeing down people to finish their meals quickly. Just kiddinggg..well I may have done it just a little. Funny enough, it was actually more crowded at 8:30 rather than 9...Maybe it was just that day, but might be good to keep in mind if you are checking it out for breakfast...

They have a range of items from breakfast sandwiches, benedict, waffles, and bagels. If you are in a rush, it may not be the place to go.

I really have mixed feelings about Bogart's so I've avoided reviewing it.

First off, the food is great.  That's usually all it takes for me to like a food joint.

The acai bowl is much better here than at Diamond Head Cove Health Bar.  Mama's fried rice is pretty damn good for vegetarian fried rice.  The only fried rice I like better is Angry Korean Lady's and that has meat in it.  The corned beef hash is the best I've had ever.  Seriously, just about everything I've tried here is really good (burritos, bagels, omelets, eggs benedicts, sandwiches, salads, etc).

The service is okay.  Some of the girls are really great, others not so much but even that doesn't bother me.  I would prefer to pay by credit card because my husband and I eat like it's going out of style and our bill usually comes out to $35+, but even paying cash is okay.  What gets to me is the long wait in line followed by the long wait for your food while having to sit so close to a stranger that you're forced to listen to her complain about her fund raising projects and putting her three kids through private school and not being able to wear her strappy sandals to an event.  I don't know about you, but I find it difficult to enjoy my rather expensive meal while listening to this sort of s#@t and I can't tune her out because she's practically sitting on my lap!  Phew!

And THAT is why Bogart's is not one of my favorite places to eat.

Not bad, but nothing to fight for tables over.

The cafe is small, but the menu is extensive. I ordered a chicken avocado salad for about $11. The portion-size was decent, the chicken was excellent -- flavorful and juicy, and since it wasn't too crowded, I received my order in about 5 minutes. Based on that experience, I'd come back if I happen to be in the area and there are seats available. The food seems fresh and is a lot more pallatable than at the unfriendly joint (Diamond Head Cove) next door.

I was a bit turned off by a sign posted at the register, which stated all their rules. At least they're upfront, but it didn't make me feel very welcomed or like my business really mattered to them. The place is cash only, and according to Rule #Something-or-Other, they tack on a 10% gratuity for orders over $45. That makes ZERO sense to me considering that you order and pay at a counter and bus your own tables. Stuff like that really gets to me and usually encourages me to take my money to places where I feel more valued and less nickel-and-dimed.

I used to live in the Waikiki area so this was a very  convenient location to go to for some breakfast.  A gf and I went there around 9a/10a on a friday morning and we LUCKILY found a table right away.  There is no one to seat you so it is first come, first serve. They have a fairly small dining area, may sit 20 people at most at once (if even).  You also need to go up to the counter to order your food and they will come to the table to drop it off.

We got the Mama's fried rice, side of bacon (since I need some sort of meat with my rice) and belgian waffles with strawberries, banana, and whipped cream (roughly  $20 for two people since we shared everything).  It was delicious and well worth your money.

My usual breakfast spots would be Boots & Kimos, Cinammons or Pancake house but this place is just so much more convenient for me, so I would definitely come back for a decent breakfast.  Only downside is that it is a small place so first come, first serve and they do not wait on you (they just drop off your food).

    MOMS KNOW BEST
    I can't believe I hadn't been here before!
My mom had recommended on numerous occasions that I try Bogart's Eggs Benedict. (Moms know best, right?!) I should have listened and followed her wise words sooner...
I'm so glad I finally made it down here.
I went with my grandpa for the first time this past week. He and I, both self-diagnosed Eggs Benedict addicts, ordered the traditional ham Benedict.

HAM EGGS BENEDICT $12.85 - toasted French baguette crowned with 2 eggs, topped with truffle scented hollandaise sauce. http://www.yelp.com/bi...

    GENEROUS PORTIONS
Grandpa and I were wowed by the size of the Benedicts, which took up 80% of their "normal-sized" plates. The remaining space was generously filled with homestyle potatoes. http://www.yelp.com/bi...  The hollandaise sauce was generously slathered over the two perfectly bene eggs. Deliciously creamy and slightly tangy with a hint of truffle, wow. The truffle was an interesting, and tasty, twist on a classic favorite -- so simple, yet sophisticated with its depth and complimentary flavors.

    FOR HERE
Bogart's Cafe newbies, here's how "for here" works:
    1. Put in your order at the counter and pay.
    2. Find a seat and listen for your name -- your order will be brought out to you.
    3. Add any condiments at the condiment station
    4. Enjoy
    5. When done, put your dishes in the black bins.
(Grandpa and I had no idea what the process was, so I asked.)
Seating is limited. And by the looks of it, this is a popular spot especially for breakfast, so I'm thinking a wait is expected. Parking is a little limited as well, so it'd probably be a better idea to go at non-peak breakfast/ brunch/ lunch hours.

The next time I'm craving eggs bene, Bogart's it is!

The neighborhood that Bogart's is located (notice I didn't say "is a part of") is a great, friendly and convenient neighborhood just east of Waikiki.  It evokes the neighborhood feeling of larger cities with great coffee shops, restaurants and small stores.  In a neighborhood like that, it is a great feeling to grab a coffee at your favorite spot and head over for breakfast at another.  Bogart's employs the short-sighted practice of "No outside food or drinks allowed", which thereby alienates and isolates their business from the rest of the neighborhood.  I regularly go to Bogarts for their acai bowls on the weekends.

This weekend, I was out earlier than usual and picked up a coffee from Starbucks which was open before Bogart's was.  We ordered our acai bowls and sat outside with our Starbucks coffees, with which I was about 1/2 way done.  The owner/manager came out and told us we couldn't have coffees from starbucks while sitting outside - that they are a coffee shop as well.  What this business owner doesn't understand is that we made a special trip there for their food - which is good - and wanted to make their establishment a part of our morning.  By not allowing us to bring our coffees in with us in the future will keep us from coming there for the food, which means a loss of sales.  I could see not allowing someone to come in with food and drink, sitting down and not ordering anything, but supplementing a purchase with an outside item should not be an issue.

I felt the manager's demeanor and handling of the situation was rude and uncalled for.  Besides, Honolulu Magazine rated Lanikai Juice as the best acai bowls on Oahu... see you tomorrow Lanikai Juice!

I had really high hopes for this place since I knew someone who used to work there and she loved it. There were ups and downs, as is usual with most businesses:

    Pros:
    1. Food was pretty yummy, and the servings were generous.

    Cons:
    1. Long line to order.
    2. Tables: you have to just grab as they free up, and they are self-bussing.
    3. Cash only. And a little pricy ($25 for steak and eggs)
    4. Took 25 minutes to get our food after we ordered.
    5. No bathroom.
    6. No fountain drinks (although that may be a good thing since there are no bathrooms).
    7. Parking sucks- street parking was WAY easier than trying to navigate that tiny lot.

Would I go back? Probably. I do wonder about these places that seem to have outgrown their space. If they had more staffing, they could have taken people's orders while standing in line (a la Starbucks), or even a hostess to ensure that people are getting tables in the right order would be nice. A bunch of people in line behind us were snagging tables as they freed up, which seems a little uncool. It would be nice if they ensured tables were going in order of the line. I was getting anxious as my husband would not let me get one until we were closer to ordering. Fortunately, we were able to grab a table so we had one when our food finally came.

The food: I had the corned beef hash, which is homemade and tasty. Downside- my eggs were not really over-medium as the yolks were too hard. Overall a tasty plate, though. The potatoes in the hash were great.

Fried rice was very yum and we added Portuguese sausage- great with the asparagus, spinach, and mushrooms.

Hubby had the chicken and veggie omelet, which was very generous- however, the menu said it came with toast and either potatoes or rice. He did not get any sides and they never asked. I felt cheated, but he was not concerned.

All-in-all, a decent place. I will try to find out what the slower times are because I do like to eat in a timely manner with minimal stress- and this visit did not meet those needs!

Was craving  for a good breakfast spot so my girlfriend who's a local in this area, recommended that I try this spot out.

Small hole in the wall joint in a tiny shopping area with very limited parking spot, located close to the zoo.  Huge menu on the chalkboard.  Everything looked pretty tasty. The cafe was operated by a bunch of pretty girls!

I ordered the fried rice which happened to be in some news article cuz of its "healthy" appearance.  If you've ever had Filipino or Chinese fried rice, you'll know that it's FAR from being healthy.  But this one, had spinach, asparagus, egg, and a bunch of other stuff I can't remember.  All I know was that IT WAS THE BEST HEALTHY FRIED RICE I EVER HAD..and it had a creamy texture to it!  It was seasoned so well!  And their waffles was drenched with fresh strawberries and blueberries with not just ordinary syrup, but some sort of coconut syrup!  It was FRIGGEN delicious! Plates were generous in portions!

It was so good, I came back the next day for more!  I LOVE THIS SPOT!

    Right on Liz!!  Good grubbin!

I have been going to Bogarts for years and I finally give up.
Last month I had lunch with a friend and put a few papers and a couple magazines from our meeting, 1 CD among other things to the side on the counter. I did not want our food to get all over the paperwork.
By the time we ended lunch and I looked at the counter they were gone
and someone on the staff actually threw them away in the garbage.
I called the owner twice and she never called me back and I lost everything from my meeting. Another time someone on their staff was filling up the water container and threw water all over me and I was soaked. I did not get a "I am sorry". Every time I go in there it takes forever to order and you are in line for 15-20 minutes because the person at the cash register is also getting  your coffee and food and then you see 4 other people on their staff in the back socializing.
Too bad the food is great but not worth dealing with the lousy customer service.
I will be going to Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf across the road in the future. So much for trying to support local businesses!

5+ stars for the food. 4 stars for the fact that you have to wait quite a while in line to order, and the food doesn't come out fast. 3 stars for the fact that you have to pay to get a refill on your coffee. Oh, and that is going to cost you real American dollars, CASH, not credit accepted. Their food really is SOOOO good though, that you want to consider going with the 5 stars anyway.

Moving on. I am typically a breakfast scramble or burrito sort of girl, because I never feel that the balance and mixture and consistency of an omelette is to my liking. That is true every place, except Bogart's. I'm not sure what they do to the eggs... but I'm guessing there are magical elves in the back whipping or whisking those things up airy enough that they come out like they do. PER.FECTION.

And if you're thinking of trying to stay on the healthier side and get fruit or salad as your side. DON'T. You would miss the breakfast potatoes. Again, I think those elves are in the back putting their little hearts into the potatoes. They are chopped/diced/trimmed into perfectly imperfect little bites. Seasoned, a little crispy, a little soft, just the right amount of everything.

Back to my omelette. I have always been a build-your-own kind of girl. PS - if you do this, and are considering the swiss cheese, GET IT. I am not even a big swiss fan, but something in the preparation here manages to turn boring old swiss into beautifully melted tastiness.

DO splurge and add the avocado. To anything here. Yes, you're gonna pay for it. But you will get a nice sized portion of the good stuff.

I've also sampled their acai bowl. Huge, and full of super-fresh and juicy fruit. I have no other acai bowl to compare it to, but I can't imagine anybody else does it much better.

My friend had the egg white omelette, and I was truly impressed by how good it was. I really don't expect much in the way of consistency or flavor from whites, but Bogart's was up to the challenge.

Drip coffee in mugs like you'd have at home. Two thumbs up. I hear their special coffee drinks are bomb, but I'm more purist, and their daily brew will smoke just about anyone else, including the 'bux. I got the Lucy mug last time, but spied a Batman mug outside. Maybe if I'm lucky next time ;)

Oh, and one other time I came and had a chicken avocado salad. Can't remember exactly because it was years ago, other than the chicken was flavorful, the dressing just right, and of course, plenty of avocado ;)

Bogart's is definitely on my short list of places to eat when I visit Oahu. It was so good last week that I actually went twice in 4 days. All the things that annoy you about it quickly disappear as the first bite crosses your lips. Bogart's doesn't try to be everything to everyone, and for that I love them. They just do what they do, and they do it to perfection. Until next time...

Great place for a late breakfast, because lets be honest, I don't make it to "breakfast" joints. There is usually a line, you generally have to wait for a table... plus the parking lot sucks (I watched someone straight back up into a car trying to leave their parking spot).... that being said, I heart Bogart's.

Great bagels... great waffles.... great potatoes! Mmmm.

To the non-veggy lovers like myself, the breakfast sandwich does come with spinach and tomato.... They have a decent selection of bagel types. The potatoes are a must - perfectly seasoned and in a giant bowl.

The place is decorated with local art (wondering how i can get my work in there :))

Bogart's can be pricey, depending on what you get. But, Its delish!

On my last visit to Oahu I was in search of a yummy acai bowl and one of my friends recommended this place. Little did I know that my friends suggestion was the start of an addiction!

During my 4 week stay in Honolulu, I ate at Bogarts over 4 times! Each time I got the acai bowl - it was just too hard to pass up! The acai berries are frozen and blended into an almost smoothie like texture and then topped with strawberries, bananas, blueberries and granola. I never thought I would get full off of an acai bowl, but man the portions are excellent and the coffee is great too!

The restaurant itself is a small affair. There is usually a line that goes straight out the door (even on weekdays since it it close to Waikiki) and the parking situation is terrible. Not once in my four visits was I lucky enough to score parking in their private lot. I found myself parking up the street and walking in, but who can complain? I mean - you are in Hawaii!

Beware - this restaurant is a cash only business and there is limited seating. Be prepared to wait in line for a while and hit up the ATM before you come!

Honestly, I'm not too hyped about paying so much for simple food. Unfortunately, Bogart's has no problem with charging way too much for everything.

The GOOD: It's a sweet little café, tiny in size and serve decent food - the kind you can make at home if you weren't so lazy (omelets and burritos, pancakes and salads) - and healthy alternative foods like the ever popular acai bowls. Bogart's is homey, you can bring nice people here, like your parents or colleagues and not have them wonder about your life choices. Food here is definitely diverse enough for anyone that you know. It's a great little stop.

The BAD: Their audacity. Bogart's is small in size but big in balls with their pricing. It's downright expensive when you think about it - many of the dishes they serve can be found elsewhere at more reasonable prices. So why are they so popular? No Fu*king clue. The parking lot is miniscule. Enough for about 10 to 15 cars, but all shared among the 6 or 7 stores in the little strip mall. Another beef I have is their Eggs Benedict. Eggs Benedict are, if you don't know, my FAVORITE kind of breakfast. Period. But at $13+ I am expecting some pretty decent Eggs Benny - NOT toast with ham and a FRIED egg, drowning in yellow mustard/mayo mix. FRIED eggs have no business with Eggs Benedict.

OVERALL: Yeah, they're super cute with their coffee mugs, aaawwweee - it's just like I am drinking my macchiato at home because the coffee mugs are all special and different, blah, blah, blah. If I wanted to feel like I was at home while eating my breakfast, then guess what - I WOULD HAVE MADE IT AT HOME. I mean, they are a good breakfast, no doubt, people love this place. Good for them. For me though - eh, leave this for the tourists and the surf junkies that seem to pile in outside. Bogart's is not necessarily one that I run to or the first place that comes to mind when I think of paying someone to cook me eggs. The main problem though - that I can't let go - Fried Eggs on an Eggs Benedict.

The Staff is wonderful and the Food is AMAZING! I love the b-fast bagel, mama's fried rice (I'll add an order of sausage inside the fried rice..soo good), any of their omelets, tuscan chicken sandwich, pancakes, waffles and coffee.   Everything is better at bogarts :)

it is CASH ONLY, so dont forget to run to the ATM before hand and parking can be kind of a pain during the rush hours, but there is always parking in the neighborhood.

Needless to say this is the best B-fast place on the island. WORTH THE WAIT! Fresh ingredients, good atmosphere and all around wonderful!

Quality comes with a price.  Or prices.

This is the epitome of the Monsarrat food experience:  long line, less-than-insufficient seating, pricey prices, enormous wait time, no credit cards.  Oh, and AMAZING FOOD.

The menu is extensive, and includes something for everyone.  In my eyes, it's a big, blank board that is only occupied with the header "BENEDICTS" and a short list of some of the best benedicts on the island.  I'm sure there are other items up there, like salads and sandwiches laden with avocado and nuts and other healthy toppings or fillings.  Breakfasts that scream deliciousness and exorbitance and protein.  I can't see any of them.  I can only see benedict.

Waiting in line here is a semi-stressful affair, as you're going to be in someone's way for the entire time.  Servers are squeezing their ways behind you while other customers are shuffling in front of you, and there's NO WHERE TO STAND.  Arriving at the cashier's register is a relief, and placing your order gives you a sense of completion and the time to relax.

Wrong.  Now you have to wait another thirty minutes, hoping a table opens up and hoping you can get there before another food snob diner slips into position, and all the while you're STILL standing in everyone's way.  There's a dude in the corner that finished his meal like an hour ago, with his laptop in front of him, occupying four potential seats.  Thanks, you asshole.  Go to Starbucks or something.

When the food finally arrives at the table you obtained through a fight to the death with an affluent resident of the Diamond Head area, all is as it should be.  English muffins, sliced tomatoes, poached eggs, maybe some florentine (or spinach, if you're pedestrian) flanked by home fries and drenched with some of the best (and made from scratch) hollandaise sauce you've ever had.

Sure, breakfast is gonna cost you nearly $20.  However, you will be full, and you will be happy.  And you will come back.

I still come here once in a while, even though I scoff at the huuuuge prices, simply because the food is so amazing.  Even my double espresso is served with precision and skill, far removed from the crap-in-a-mug 8 oz "double shot" I receive at any other restaurant.

Is the benedict better than Grand Cafe?  I can't say it is, but I can say I'll take it.

I REALLY wish I didn't have to drive halfway across the island to eat here!  If it were closer to home, I'd be having breakfast here every morning!

Got to try one of the great breakfast bagels and Belgian waffle with Nutella and bananas, but what really lit my fire were the taro pancakes with haupia sauce!  AWESOME!  Definitely on my list of favorite breakfast places!

Parking is a little sparse and the line can sometimes be a little long, but it's worth it!  Just park a little bit down the street, walk that half-block and wait in line for a few minutes for your breakfast and coffee, and you won't be disappointed!

I'll be back soon to try the acai bowl, sandwiches, and other scrumptious stuff!  :-)

Yummy breakfast place, priced fairly. Better than the other high-priced options in/around Waikiki. If I ever make my way back I want to try the Acai bowl, that looked really good. I had the french toast and chicken apple sausage, both were pretty standard but what I was craving. The bf had Mama's fried rice and loved it, said it was one of his favorite meals all week. Don't forget to hit up the ATM though as they're cash only.

My friends and I stopped by this weekend for some quick bites.  I like the setting there, casual and is close to Kapiolani Park.

There are quite a few selections there from breakfast to lunch menu items.  the food was ok, nothing really stood out to me.  I had the breakfast burritos.  You could not go wrong with eggs and bacons in it.  The other friend had the egg benedict.  He was not happy with the food at all.  They fried the eggs instead of poaching them.

Although this place is like a neighborhood type of places which I like, the prices are over priced to me considering the types of food and the quality of the cooking.  I can easily rip out these types of food from my kitchen.

I don't think I will make an effort to drive there to get breakfast since I can find something more delicious at Tango's Cafe next to my condo at Ward.

Dear Bogarts I have given thee 3 chances and you have failed me everytime. Shame on me? Or you? I came here with no line and not many people in the restaurant, yet it still amazingly took over 35 minutes to get a breakfast burrito and a bagel sandwich. Maybe someone had to go out and buy the ingredients right after I ordered? maybe waiting on  the chicken to lay some more eggs? new chef? I'm curious as to what is going on in that kitchen and.. I had to remind you to make my coffee? I should give you 1 star but I do like the location and the staff did seem a little more friendly then last time, so you get 2 stars...and the food is not too bad, if you get it. They are very smart making you pay first, because most people would probably leave after waiting the initial 30 minutes.

    Should you go?

    It's for you:
    1. If you are retired and have an infinite time to wait for food.
    2. If you carry lots of cash on you.
    3. Like waiting in lines and waiting for food.
    4. If you want to make sure that 1st date last longer than 5 minutes.
    5. Don't own a car.

    It's not for you:
    1. If you are starving.
    2. In a hurry.
    3. Have no cash, credit carders beware. It's 2011, right?
    4. Own a car, because parking is scarce.
    5. On a budget.

    Tips:
    1. Bring some food while you wait. I noticed some people at the table next to me brought a bag of cookies to eat while they waited, genius! Apparently they are regulars.

    2. Don't order anything that needs to come from the kitchen i.e. breakfast burrito, omelettes, etc... Stick with bagel sandwich, acai bowl, coffee, you get the idea.

    3. Go early, because if you not the 1st person...let's just say good luck.

    4. If you want to open breakfast establishment in this area you would put this place out of business quick and you wouldn't even have to try that hard. Just operate like a normal restaurant and you're in there.

Bogarts I may see in another year, hopefully that will give you sufficient time to get your act together.

Great spot. I would really give it about 4 1/4 stars, but people are being a bit harsh and the cumulative rating doesn't reflect what a great spot this is.

There are a lot of classic breakfast places; this isn't one of them. They have a lot of interesting and delicious dishes that you just don't find anywhere else.

The service is a little funky and there is usually a line. You have to wait in line to order your food and find your own table.

The Acai Bowl is really nice--fresh fruit on a bed of blended and frozen acai berries.

Chicken and veggie omelet--a huge plate of cooked veggies and grilled chicken piled high on a scrambled egg pancake. Super healthful and super tasty.

Crab and avocado omelet--also very good. The creaminess of the avocado tends to overpower the crab, but it is a nice dish.

Bogart's is hands down my favorite breakfast spot on the Island. Sure it may seem a little pricey but honestly it's cheaper than most places when you factor in you don't have to tip for a server (although you should always tip there since the food prep and runners don't get gratuity) and most places around waikiki charge double for food half the quality. The migas is one of my favorite egg dishes with a mexican flare. The acai bowls are the best I've ever had. And I've tried a lot. Also they are known for their breakfast bagels being great. They are known for a reason. Coffee is good but not great, but then again it's relatively cheap so you get what you pay for.

As far as the complaints about the waits, lack of table etc. Its busy because it's good. Avoid it during peak hours 9:30-11:00 on weekends. Get there early and there shouldn't be a problem.

Hmm. .what's not good here?  I love their chicken avocado salad and the Tuscan chicken sandwich. ..excuse me what is it exactly that you do to your chicken?! It just makes me melt..

Coffees and iced lattes are also really good here and Honolulu seriously needs to get on their shit and make more cafes like this.

If I own a cafe one day it would be like Bogart's except with MUSIC and a BATHROOM...it kills me that I have to run and pop a squat everytime I go there. And  WTF happened to those comfy couches?!?!?! The photos and paintings they sell on the walls are kinda weird too I think the old surfy paintings and photos were better now the place looks a little bit empty and awkward, otherwise it would've been 5 stars =)
