I can't believe all the people on here who haven't had the food at Bogart's! Now, this review is based on today's Easter Sunday Brunch, and it was FANTASTIC!

Yes, it's a buffet, but it is TOP NOTCH, and I can't think of a single fault. The staff was incredibly friendly, and very attentive, despite the crazy Easter crowds.

They apparently have Sunday Brunch every Sunday. For Easter, the cost was $19.95/person (actually, $21.95, as there is a $2/person "non-alcoholic beverage" charge) and the spread was wonderful. Omelet station, with a ton of fixings, including real crab meat, and shredded Gouda cheese. YUM! The carving station had delicious ham, turkey and roast beef. There was even a pancake station, where the cook made pancakes to-order, with a big assortment of add-ins (chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, raisins, sprinkles, etc). Lots of great Southern food (shrimp and grits, jambalaya, greens) as well as excellent meatloaf, canolis, 5-cheese macaroni. Uhhh... yeah, lots lots more.

Oh, and there's a desert bar as well.

This spread could easily fetch $30/person and be worth it, but at only $20, it's a steal, which merits the 5-star rating here. :)

I'm not much for the Glenwood South nightlife crowd, but I heartily recommend Bogart's as a dining destination... I mean, if they do a buffet this well, imagine the regular menu!

Oh, and I have to add - they also feature live jazz music during Sunday brunch. Very nice touch!

Bogart's is GloSo at it's GloSoiest... or was, I guess, until Solas moved in across the way.

The place is arranged in a big sprawling series of seating areas, which is kind of cool and allows you to get away from the music and the dance floor if you want to.  The two times I've been here the bar has been CRAZY, there were so many people crowded around it drinking glowing pseudotinis that I actually had to push through them to get close enough to shout to the bartender...

Drinks are expensive, but no more so than most other places around downtown.  I haven't tried food here.

I really like the stage arrangement, and the dance-floor in the middle of everything.  It makes the place feel like it's really focused on that aspect of things, but the little half-walls and different sections let you tune it all out if you want.

Cool club.

P.S.  Don't wear your basketball shoes.  There's a sign at the door specifically forbidding athletic attire.

Bogart's is probably one of popular place to go on Glennwood. I forgot how many times i went there, however I never tried the food.. in fact I didn't realized they actual serve food until just now..

I always go there late at night on weekends when the place turns into lounge/club. I like bogarts.  that explains why I went there so many times.

People-mostly young professionals
Cover charge- no.. not that i remembered
Price-not cheap but reasonable

Bogart's has excellent martinis, but it gets a bit too packed for my tastes.
Thursday nights are  1/2 price martinis, but expect a packed restaurant full of very drunk people and too much noise to carry on anything resembling a conversation.

As far as food goes, I'm really disappointed with the lack of vegetarian options, and both times I've been there I've had to settle for enjoying a salad (I'd recommend the Apple and Gorgonzola, its delectable).

Worth checking out (if only for the expansive list of martinis), but if you like to avoid big crowds steer clear.

I went to Bogart's this past Thursday with a group of friends for the first time in a few months. Thursday nights the bar offer's half priced martinis, and free cover and half priced entrée's for ladies. I have to say the food here was absolutely fantastic, and they have an amazing selection of really tasty martinis available.

The bar has a dress code, ad cover...two things that usually keep me away. The place is also usually packed every time I've ever been making it hard to find a place to sit down and get drinks (two other things that keep me away). The also have a DJ late night who plays exceptionally loud music-almost a deal breaker for me.

7pm on a Thursday thought was fantastic. Dinner and 4 Martinis cost me around $25 which would be hard to beat anywhere....and this dinner (and the drinks) were great.

This place gets 5 stars alone for the amazing mess that I saw dancing there one night.

I am from CA, but was visiting my best friend and while there, sipping my Makers Manhattan, I stumbled upon quite possible the most amazing sight....a complete mess of a person dancing alone to no music. Not only was that part awesome, but her entire outfit made the whole thing that much better.

There always seems to be a cool crowd at Bogart's, and it can get pretty backed. Drinks are reasonable. I really like the big circular bar. The music was nice, and Bogart's has a a pretty cool dance floor.

Bogarts is one of three restaurants on Glenwood run by Rocky Top.  They all follow pretty much the same idea: stylish restaurant during the day, sleek club/bar at night and it all works pretty well.  Bogarts has a pretty broad menu: steaks, seafood, pastas along with some sandwiches.  I've eaten here 4 - 5 times and never been disappointed.

Out front there's a large round bar with good bar-staff and a dance floor next to it.  Music ranges from jazz for brunch to live rock to DJ's spinning dance tunes, the place gets rockin' on the weekends!  The crowd is young and well-dressed, I would have to agree with other reviews that there's quite a bit of eye candy.  I had a friend visiting during my last visit to Bogarts and he had this happy, glazed look in his eyes as the ladies rolled in...

But overall the crowd is cool, just a mix of people looking to have a good time.  The best part of things is that if you show up for drinks or dinner at the right time, you get a wrist-band for access to the the other two bars/clubs on this corner: Hi5 and Red Room.  Bogarts may not blow you away with its food but you can't beat the overall combination of food, service, cocktails and ambiance!

Ok, first, I am totally not the type of person who goes to this type of place.  (I wear sweatpants to fancy restaurants and am totally ok with that.)  So, when my roommates were going here (late night) and described it as a 'shiny shirt bar,' I considered not going.  But I'm (relatively) new to Raleigh and am desperate for friends, so I sucked it up.

The place is kind of weird.  Granted, I am speaking only about the after dinner club/bar aspect, but it's still weird.  There is definitely the shiny shirt aspect to it, but I've seen people in shorts and flip flops there also.  There's the dancing, and the bar area, and an outdoor area, all with a random mix of people.  Bachelorette parties are happening at the same time as I'm sitting around BSing on the patio with my roommates.

I will say, the one thing that keeps me going back are the martinis.  I don't even like alcohol, but these things are good.  The chocolate ones taste like chocolate, and the fruit ones taste like fruit, and they get me drunk enough to buy them for my roommates so I'm not the only one drinking.  They can be expensive, but if it tastes like candy you can have my $8.50 no problem.  I'm pretty sure I've had all three (or is it four?) of the chocolate ones in a single sitting.  Yum yum.

The only gross martini that I've tasted was the cucumber cantaloupe something or other.  It's definitely got some cucumber in it, and that's all you taste.  Not the kind of drink that you want to have to force down.

The waitresses are super nice, and for some reason I seem to get the same one... I wish that I could remember her name.  When I randomly ask for frozen grapes, she brings them to me in a shot glass or adds them to my drink, she's great.  (Try these things...you too will become addicted.)

The place has a cover after a certain time, which is kind of annoying, and they play really bad music most of the time (even our waitress was making fun of it one night), but I try to ignore all of this and hang out with my friends.  Once I'm drunk, I don't really care what's going on around me.

To sum up: go for the martinis.  Once you are drunk, the place is a blast.

Great place! It started out with a jazz trio playing some great music in front of a movie screen with --who else?--Humphrey Bogart's movies. The ambiance was terrific! Then about two hours in, the whole place morphs into a dance club. As I'm sitting there driking my Manhatten, every woman that walked in was hotter than the last! Get there early as it will get pretty crowded later on in the evening. So many gorgeous people to meet at this upscale bar--dress nice.

Bogart's makes one mean burger, with a side of a pretty good happy hour. I used to come here after work with some of my fellow employees and we would all have a good time with half-off domestic bottles. I've never ventured to Bogart's past 6 or 7 PM, so I can't comment too much on it as nightlife. However, the burgers are definitely worth the visit; I prefer just a simple cheeseburger with cheese, lettuce and tomato, and they make a juicy 1/2 pound burger that hits the spot for me. Service is above average, and the food comes out fast, all things that make me wanting to come back for more.

Disgusting food.  Come here if you like noisy sports bars posing as restaurants that get their jollies by getting repeat customers to continually overpay for crap food.  Cooks are required to add at least one cup of salt to every dish, but only once it has been properly overcooked.  Locals should abandon this place if they want to keep up the pretense that Raleigh is a sophisticated place (they don't).

On the bright side, if you're drinking and watching sports, the saltiness is only a plus!!  Great bar food, embarrassingly putrid restaurant.  Can I award zero stars?

This review is based on my experience at Bogart's as a drinking, not dining spot.  I happened by here on a Thursday night with a friend in from out of town, which happened to be $4 martinis for ladies night.  On the recommendation of a girl at the bar, I tried a pineapple martini which was delicioso.  I also loved that there was a live funk/jazz band playing (Lionel Richie and Herbie Hancock).  The atmosphere was nice and the service was good.  I'd go back again for the martinis, for sure.

As a new-comer to Raleigh, my first semi-formal dining experience was at Bogarts. The service was impeccable from the start. The atmosphere's quite comtemporary, nothing overly note-worthy. The lighting however I felt was superb. As a former restaurant manger as well as light sensitive individual, the lighting in any establishment has always been very high up on my list of quirks. But anyway, in this instance, the subdued hue, along with very thoughtful and attentive service, won me over. The food I thought was standard, I'd ordered the Prime Rib, done medium rare, it may have just been cut right off the cow, it was that rare. But this wasn't horrible either, like I said, the lighting was just right that visually I couldn't really tell anyway. lol. The wine-list was quite ordinary, but alas found myself pleasantly surprised when I'd ordered a glass of Pinot that the server reccomended. I was pleased that in addition to his excellent service, he as well had good taste. All in all, I'd probably go again.
