Bodywork Emporium is not only a great place to get a massage but also the shop where all the massage therapists go to buy their tools such as tables, massage accessories, lotions and oils, etc. There are several locations throughout SoCal but I believe the Leucadia location is the very first shop.
You don't have to be in the healing business to shop here. I bought my very first yoga mat here back in the 90's and probably the first memory foam pillow when they first came out.
The place is very down to earth and not intimidating in the least if you are just exploring the idea of using alternative therapies into your life as the staff is very helpful and friendly. They even have an online shop if you live out of the area. .

Five enthusiastic stars to this place for offering the best massages I've ever had. No pansy stuff... these people will work the knots right the hell out of your muscles. All of the massage therapists here are well-educated and take very good care of their clients. The atmosphere is characterized by a definite nice, kind, liberal, relaxing world peace vibe. And, at about $70 for an hour massage, they're still one of the least expensive places in town!
They'll also stamp a card for you every time you go in and eventually, you earn a free one. Gift certificates are available and are perfect for just about anyone.
I'm not sure if he's still there, but Randy has always been my favorite massage therapist.
Bought my massage table and lotions here, and I stop by every couple of months for a massage. Their staff is consistently above-average quality massage and below-average price. I like heavy deep-tissue and haven't been disappointed. Have also bought gift certificates, which are well-liked. They have a large supply of equipment and mix-it-yourself lotions.
Imagine my delight when I called Bodywork Emporium with a sore neck and a headache...and I was able to schedule a massage the SAME DAY! This was a time I needed the kinks rubbed out...and it was done. No namby-pampy "body rub!" And all for a price that is much more reasonable than at most "day spas."
I had a few massages here a couple of years ago; I like how they've moved the treatment rooms to a different building a few steps away from the store. Very nice, very tranquil.
I'm sold - I'll be back!!!
i love that they have earwax candles but they need to work on their branding - garish colors outfront and clunky typography.
