This is about how my decision to join the BodyLab changed my life.

At 19 I overcame a lot of obstacles - literally about 20 of them - designed by the USAF to test strength, endurance, and will power. Joining the military was the hardest and most rewarding action I'd taken to date. From childhood into my early 20's, my favorite foods were clam chowder, Italian grinders, Chinese food, cheeseburgers, pasta, milkshakes, and pizza. Breakfast was either donuts or cereal... or nonexistent. For 4 yrs. while on active duty, exercise consisted of running on the treadmill or hitting the stair climber 2-3 times a week. I smoked two packs of cigarettes a week.

At 26 I overcame staring at a computer 40+ hours a week with smoke breaks because they were an excuse to get outside and away from the daily grind. At night I partied 4-5 times a week until all hours of the morning, forgoing sleep, consuming mass quantities of caffeine, and eating out most of the time. I was over worked, run down, depressed, and carrying an extra 20 lbs of fat on my 5'7" frame.  Booze and bar food were a part of my regular consumption. In an effort to not gain weight, I turned towards ephedrine disguised as Xenadrine. I experimented for a year with cutting out dairy. I rarely exercised and continued to smoke.

At 34 I was in the midst of eye-opening experiences and started conquering some new major life challenges: I quit smoking. While my nutrition was better than it had ever been, I needed additional guidance and to be pushed physically. Not pushed... kicked. In the ass. HARD.

My reason for telling you all this is so you understand that before I started at the BodyLab I did not recognize proper nutrition and real exercise. When I walked into The BodyLab to meet with Ryan Jaqua, I felt scared out of my wits. I signed for three months. I'm glad that rather than letting that fear stop me, it fueled me, and still does for those 5:30am ass-kicking workouts. At the end of my initial three months, I signed for six more. Sundays are my favorite: double header of biceps & triceps class followed by a gut check class. Every 2 weeks they change up the class structure and each time I see a new move I'm equally confused and delighted at how they ever came up with it. Your brain and muscles will never get bored! And usually there are celebratory post-workout shots of Tequila so your liver doesn't get bored either.

Dependent on when you work out, different trainers run different classes. They are all highly knowledgeable, focused, funny, and just plain nuts. My primary trainer is Ryan Jaqua. If Buddha and Scarface and Bruce Lee were all fused together, that would be Ryan. Even when I am dripping sweat, gasping for mass quantities of air into my new, wonderful smoke-free lungs, I just plain adore him. Ryan knows how much I'm capable of, even before I do, and believes in integrity, accountability, and inner strength equaling outer.

The other half of my dynamic-duo BL experience is Mary Hydle, the nutritionguruist. Do not let Mary's bleached blonde pixied appearance fool you. As an old soul, who in just a few years has obtained such a deep wealth of knowledge, she is a constant spring of guidance, humor, and information. Mary opened my eyes about the importance of sufficient protein, pyramid eating, snacks, natural foods, and being human. Mary understands that each person's needs are different and adjusts accordingly. What I adore most about Mary is her willingness to learn as well as teach. I've truly enjoyed our exchange of food blog links, recipes, book titles, and ideas. Mary has helped me fine-tune by nutrition and shed light on my relationship to food as a whole.

I'm about to turn 35 and I'm in the best shape of my life. So far I've lost 15lbs of BodyFat and added 18lbs to my Lean Body Mass. I'm a non-smoking, kale-munching, push-up loving chic whose life is forever altered by the BodyLab. I put in the work and drink the Kool-Aid (made with Stevia and natural dyes, of course). "From the center of my life, came a great fountain" -Louise Gluck. Thank you Ryan, Mary, Matt, Steve, Roger, and all the rest.

Six months ago I was given the amazing opportunity to join Body Lab Fitness. I'd done my research and didn't enter the situation lightly. I knew it would be challenging, intimidating AND rewarding. By the end of the first week I was in so much pain I didn't know how I'd last! That's where the incredible staff came in - they made sure I was set up for success.

This program is very well-run. The Lifestyle Engineers are extremely encouraging, answer all your fitness and nutrition questions, and work with you every step of the way to ensure success.  This support pushed me to work even harder for results.

I've seen amazing results while still being super challenged. In six months I've lost 13 pounds, 12% body fat, can do actually do push-ups!

Being part of Body Lab Fitness takes discipline and requires accountability. My experience has been life changing and I would definitely recommend this program.

It's going to be extremely difficult to convey this life-changing experience into a few words, but here it goes: If you're reading reviews on gyms to find one that gives great results - then look no further. BodyLab will take you to school! Literally - the accountability aspect of your stay at the Lab is just like going to school for your body to get - and STAY - healthy. The fact that I am young (24), and have been into high-intensity sports from a very young age, I was a little reluctant on the idea of getting a trainer to get into shape. I thought that I was already in good shape- but the BodyLab has shown me that there is way more to being in shape than simply going to the gym once or twice a week and doing run-of-the-mill bench presses, sit-ups and curls.

The sessions are 30 minutes long - and I know what you might be saying to yourself - only 30 minutes, they can't be too hard - but trust me... they are the hardest 30 minutes of your week! If you can get through the workout with no problem- then you're not doing them right! They've said that these workouts are created by the BodyLab team at the base of Mount Doom - and I believe them.

With workouts that change bi-weekly, you're never going to get bored. These trainers are insane - and that's part of the reason that I enjoy coming to my workouts as well!  The copious amounts of 'I can't keep a straight face but now I am going to show them!' comments they make during the sessions show me that not everything has to be super serious about being fit, and that getting fit can be fun!

Not only do you get workouts that no sane human being could ever come up with (Seriously - if you gave the BodyLab team a frozen burrito, an extension cord, and a lamp - they would create a workout that will kick your butt!!) but you have a personal nutritionist that works with you on a daily basis to customize a diet that will get you results quickly! Not only are you going to be eating healthy- but after you work with Mary for a few weeks, your brain will become a capacious storage bin for all sorts of healthy treats!

It was like a lot of things in my life; I didn't know what I was doing so I listened to a few simple suggestions - and I got results! I have lost almost 30 pounds, but more importantly, I dropped my body fat percentage from 26% down to 12%, and made significant gains in my overall strength. After being there almost a year- I have gone from a 'corporate mammal' to a 'finely tuned BodyLab machine'!

There's nothing I like more than receiving a compliment about my new appearance(and trust me, they happen a LOT)  - because I know how much work I have done to get to where I am at and I owe it all to BodyLab!

The science of the chemistry at the B. Lab is the incredibly perfect mixture for living a healthy, fit, and prideful way of living. The interactions, reactions, and transformations that are composed and studied at the B. Lab maintain the image there.  It is full of high energy, killer music, comradery, and the best training I could ask for.  The B. Lab has certainly changed my life and has given me a new meaning to bustin a sweat.  Hands down, one of my fav places to be!  It is addicting and I always want more!! I congratulate Matt, the owner,  for such a respectful and admirable way to transform the "Labbers."  HATS OFF!!!

How do I begin a review for something I consider to be life changing? Well, I guess I start at the beginning.

I am one of those people who has never enjoyed working out or watching what I eat. I've tried every gym, class, and training program known to man, and every diet, cleanse and supplement on the planet.  Oh, and did I mention, I am terribly undisciplined in every regard related to eating and exercising. So, when I asked a friend what she did to stay so fit and look so good and she said she worked with the "accountability experts" at BodyLab, I knew I had to check this place out.

Throughout all of my trials and tribulations of health and fitness, I have never experienced anything like BodyLab. This is the full package - a phenomenal nutritionist on staff - creative, challenging workouts that change every two weeks - and genuine accountability to BodyLab, myself and my plan. Now I love my workouts and look forward to sharing what I'm eating. This is crazy, right? Well, the proof is front and center. Simply put, the team at BodyLab is extraordinary.

In the 5 months since I started BodyLab, I have lost almost half of my body fat and, at the age of 39, weigh less than I have since high school.  The incredible team at BodyLab has this remarkable way of pushing me harder than I would ever push myself, while motivating and encouraging me to do things I never thought I could do. I am now stronger and leaner and, as a direct result, recently achieved one of my life goals - to run a half marathon. I set a new personal best in two sprint triathlons and get to go shopping on a regular basis to buy new, smaller clothes.  I eat better, I feel better and I, without a doubt, look much better.  All of this in 5 months of 3-4 workouts per week, for 30 minutes each.  Yes, it's pretty remarkable.

The most important investment you can ever make is in yourself, and there is no better self investment than BodyLab.  I have a lot more work to do, and a lot more to accomplish, but I know that my personal accountability experts at BodyLab will help me every step of the way.

Can't I give 6 stars for something that is over the top awesome?

After giving birth to my second (and hopefully last!) kid, I was so excited that I could have my body all to myself, and work out as hard as I wanted to without damaging anyone on the inside.  That's when I found Body Lab.  Body Lab is the most effective, efficient fitness system possible for people who are serious about getting and staying fit and are also super short on time.

Have you ever said "F YOU!" and "Thank You!" to the same person in 30 minutes?  Check out the Body Lab and find out how that is possible, even for a sane person.

I'm amazed at my results - I'm small (5'2") and didn't need to lose a ton of weight, but I lost 7 pounds in less than 3 months, and 4% body fat (that's a lot of fat!  Ew!).  I love how I feel on their excellent nutrition plan too - I've literally added 2 extra hours on to my day just by eating better and not getting bogged down by food that zaps my energy.

Mary the nutritionist is AMAZING!  Matt and Ryan the trainers are, depending on the moment, the biggest A Holes and the best friends you will ever meet.  All in a good way.

Started at the lab a few weeks ago and I have to say it's already changing my life and health. I have worked out since I was in high school (so a long time ago) and recently overcame cancer and needless to say my body was wrecked. I was feeling down and out and needed some big motivation to get me going again. Like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow I found it.
I have already gained back most of my strength and feel myself getting back into shape faster than I imagined possible. If you are tired of the same ole routine and need something to catapult you into a new world of possibilities your search is over. BodyLab is your answer.

If you do the work, BodyLab will improve your life.

After a prolonged illness and dramatic weight loss I went looking for something I didn't think was possible to find ... a workout that challenged me that I would actually be motivated to go do.  I wasn't looking to lose weight.  I need my strength back, and I needed it back fast.  I needed to improve my health.  A co-worker recommended BodyLab.  He warned that it was intense but worth the effort.

I was weak.  I was down.  And I was pretty sure there was no way I could do the workouts.  But at BodyLab failure is not an option.  The environment is as competitive as it is supportive.  And the workouts are hard and don't get easier with time.  But, after a short 3 months I am physically stronger and mentally tougher.  I work in a cut-throat business, so getting that edge back after an illness was not only helpful, it was necessary.

The folks at BodyLab reshaped by body, my mind, my eating habits and my overall health.  My blood pressure is down and my doctors have been able to reduce the amount of medication I must take every day.  I have gained muscle, I have learned to eat right, and as a side benefit, I have expanded my network and opened up new business opportunities with folks I work out with.  Now those are results that are hard to find at a typical gym.

What do you call a gym that's not a gym? An oxymoron, but I also would have accepted 'Bodylab' as a correct answer. Calling Bodylab a gym is like calling Einstein smart or Scarlett Johansson pretty; the term just doesn't do it justice.

This place isn't cheap but my health is priceless. Nice equipment, easy scheduling and a fitness program that is simple to follow. Simple does not equal easy! Simple means that if you do the work, you get the results. Bodylab offers the expert guidance and wisdom to show you exactly what work needs to be done to achieve your goals. The thirty minute workouts are 110% customized; the strength wizards of BL go that extra 5k to deliver a really "personal touch" but less like the kind you'd find at a five star restaurant and more like the kind you'd find from Drill Sgt. Getdownandgimmetwenty. If I worked at Bodylab (note: only superhumans need apply) I would have a business card with the job title "Punishment Specialist" below my name. These trainers have a no-BS approach to working out that will make you sore and beg for more. The staff's expertise is not just limited to ensuring proper technique during exercises or motivation delivered via whistling or megaphones. They also have an in-house nutritionist whose straightforward and guilt-free advice has me cooking delicious meals at home and packing healthy options on the go so I'm saving money on food and taking care of myself from the inside. The evolution happens quickly and I am truly enjoying every step/lunge of my personal development. In one month, I have learned more about nutrition and fitness than I could have possibly imagined. Four months later and I'm well on my way to looking like Carrot Top (from the neck down).

Seriously though, if it's worth doing than it's worth doing right and Bodylab has shown me the right way to get fit and eat right without getting in the way of work and play. This place is a shimmering ray of light for those seeking a path to a healthy, happy future. I went to the Bodylab because I wanted to look good. I keep coming back because I love feeling good.

Yep, I have stuck with this hardcore gym for 16 weeks now.  And, no, it doesn't get any easier.  But it shouldn't because how else will you get stronger?
I have dropped 3 dress sizes, almost 20 lbs and 11% body fat in less than 4 months.  I am never bored and the classes change every 2 weeks.  The DJs are awesome and I'm never tired of doing tequila shots.  When you  just start out, you get so much support from the trainers and other members.  I find myself telling someone after their first workout, "The first is always the hardest, just keep coming."  And don't think that the new trainer, Ryan, is easy.  New doesn't mean easy, all the trainers kick our butts equally.
We are all one big happy family and that's why I keep going.

I never needed a personal trainer, or so I thought...

Good news is I didn't get a trainer - I got Body Lab Fitness!

Let me first start by stating this is NOT a GYM! It's a lifestyle school. And just like a school, not everyone is admitted. This EXCLUSIVITY allows you to train with equally motivated classmates while helping push each other to obtain your set goals. The next, is ACCOUNTABILITY. The personal trainers at your neighborhood gym may only see you a few times a week, but Body Lab promotes consistent communication to teach you the habits of a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle. During the ever-changing classes there's a DJ's spinning keeping the atmosphere fast and fun, but don't assume those 30 min workouts are easy!

Friends and family can't believe I'm the same person they knew 6 months ago. And when they ask what I've been doing, or compliment me on my appearance, I have to give all credit to Body Lab.

To provide some background, I weighed 210lbs when I joined Body Lab in September and have since lost 32lbs of fat while gaining and refining my lean muscle mass!

If you want to make a change with a program that empowers YOU for self sustained success, I suggest you stop in and ask for Matt and see for first hand.

Are YOU ready to invest in yourself?

I am 35 years old and last year i was 45 pounds heavier then when i graduated from college Other then seeing Tom Nalen's (ex bronco lineman) interview/testimonial on Channel 4news - i had no idea what to expect when i met Matt D'amico (owner of Bodylab) on December 1st 2010. I can easily say joining BodyLab was the best decision I ever made related to my health (i wish i knew about this type of program 10 years ago). I have lost over 35 lbs and have a ton of energy during the work week.
Here is what you get with Body Lab:
    1) Workouts with Results - They are 30 mins, never more than 6 people in a class and change every 2 weeks.
    2) Unique exercises/movements - you do not just sit down and do bench presses. - the movements are designed to isolate and burn calories while building muscle tone.
    3) Professional Trainers - (i was skeptical to workout with a "trainer" - Trust me - all of the trainers (Matt, Ryan, Melissa, Roger, Steve) are skilled and make sure you do the exercises right. With a maximum of 6 people per class - the hands on approach drives results
    4) Travel Workouts - I travel quite a bit for work - the BodyLab provides workout programs which work great in a small hotel gym and/or in a hotel room. You do not Skip a beat while you are on the road for work or vacation.
    5) Nutrition - Mary Hydle is awesome to work with on your meal plans
This is a great benefit so you are not wasting your hard work in the gym.
    6) Work Hard Play Hard Atmosphere - Your 30 minute workout is not a social outing - you work your butt off. However Body lab also knows how to have fun - there are social events/happy hours put on by the Body Lab team.

If you are thinking of joining a gym, cross fit, or hiring a personal trainer - give the Body Lab a call first. You will see results. You have nothing to lose (other than weight)

I started working out here a couple weeks before Turkey Day last year. What with all the holiday food then and Xmas-New Years my results have not been the best but thats my fault for eating too much.

This place is the bomb, the best hard core workout you can get anywhere. Its fun, fast and set to intense loud (fun) music. Their model is accountability. You must be willing to get your ass kicked 3-4 times a week and show up on time ready to work. They will coach  you on your diet,; and there is a BodyBugg gadget and a corresponding iPhone app to track calories burned and much more. They will nag you when you slack off too (accountability)...

I think BodyLab offers everything one needs to get in the best shape of your life. The only limitation is you (me) and your level of effort and commitment. I received great pain and great results while eating too much. Now that the food holidays are over I hope to start posting decreases in my weight, bodyfat and losing inches where I need to.Already I have increased strength and  cardio capability.

I've seen people here  from 20 somethings to 50 somethings. No matter what your age or condition, BodyLab will push you to the max and create fitness goals that will exceed your own. Its a lifestyle change, if you're ready for one start here.

One day, about three months ago, I slipped on my one last pair of jeans that still fit over my butt.  Well, "slipped" is an exaggeration.  It was more like a ridiculous dance no one was meant to see- including a few lunges, squats, and finishing with a nice long stretch in child's pose just to get my trusty fat jeans to fit.  I thought, well, I can go out and spend money on bigger clothes that will fit my slowly growing sedentary ass or I can spend that money on personal training.  That day, I hopped online and started researching personal trainers and gyms all over Denver.  I visited numerous gyms and the last one was The Bodylab.  It was last because I had to look no further.  From that day on, I was committed to whittling away at the fat that had crept up on me throughout college and my days at a desk.

Today, I hit my three month mark.  I can honestly say that even I have surprised myself.  I feel re-awakened, passionate about my health, active, and on top of my game.

Not to mention- I've lost 3 dress sizes, 15 pounds and 6% body fat in 12 weeks.

Yes, you read that correctly.  Don't just assume I'm one of those tiny people who has a great metabolism either.  I'm not.  I've always been, well, average.  Or perhaps slightly bigger than average, as I learned... I couldn't have achieved all that I have so far without the guidance, knowledge and compassion of Ryan, the trainer I've been working with in my time at The Bodylab.  He runs a tight ship- which is exactly what I'm paying for here.  When I started turning in my daily food journal and his detailed feedback about every little thing I had eaten came back the next day, I knew that not only does Ryan whip you into shape, he truly cares about his clients and their success.  Shortly after I began, Mary the nutritionist started and she has hit the ground running as well, giving out recipe ideas and even more suggestions to help me broaden my culinary horizons.  The workouts are ever-changing, ever-challenging, and sometimes I laugh out loud when they preview what we're about to do because it's just that crazy.  But somehow, I manage to pull through and every week is an improvement.

Just when you think the three-a-week workouts and the daily nutritional feedback is more than you ever expected from your gym, you attend a Bodylab happy hour and then realize that this place is a support system filled with people who share in both their success and the pain it's taken to get there.  Imagine that- you're not alone!  And all this over a free cocktail!

The Bodylab is not a gym.  It's a life changing experience that I can say has been one of the best decisions I've ever made.  Even on my worst days when I think the last thing I want to do is work out, I leave The Bodylab having totally forgotten everything I was upset about 30 minutes prior.  The cathartic quality of the workouts is worth the price alone!  In fact, I signed up for another 6 months and CANNOT wait to see what my body looks like by Thanksgiving.  I have a feeling it will be beyond my wildest dreams.

And the fat jeans?  They're no longer a part of my wardrobe :)

    I had my doubts....

First off, Its hard to call them 30 minute sessions - there is more sweat, grunting, and soul searching going on in that half-hour than any other time of your day. The circuits are smart, well-put together and appear to hit perfectly hard for everyone in the class (something I've never seen in group classes). I've trained with a lot of capable trainers throughout the years, but even personal training didn't compare to the intensity Matt and Ryan bring to the table each and every session -  With a megaphone to your ear, there is NO COASTING, NO CHEATING, AND NO HIDING with these guys. You're broken down, baptized in sweat, and born anew at the end of each damn one!

For me, it was exactly what I needed to get the next level of fitness. Like all the decent programs out there, BodyLab talks a big game about comprehensive training - from the work-out to nutrition to accountability - But the Lab walks the walk and is the only product I've seen fully deliver. It was commonplace to receive texts and voicemails making sure I was holding up to my end of the bargain out of the gym also. Its cheesy but true, these guys change the way you approach your fitness and how it fits in your life.

I could go on, but suffice it to say - For those of us who live in the real world - with careers and social lives - this simply is the best product out there for those looking to commit to themselves, take it up a notch and start seeing serious progress.

I hate working out and I hate gyms even more, but I definitely recognized the need to improve my health, so I signed up for BodyLab after doing a lot of research.  The system that BodyLab has set up is really the only way I can force myself to get the needed exercise while working full time, having a wife that travels a lot for work, and with a one-year old baby in the mix.

While the flexible scheduling is key, the other important part of it is the accountability.  I've learned a lot about nutrition and diet planning while receiving not-so-gentle reminders from the staff when I screw up.  The BodyLab staff does not pull punches.  I very much need someone breaking my balls every second of the workout, and they deliver.  Here is my favorite example of motivational encouragement one might receive if you slack during a session:

"This is not a democracy.  This is a dictatorship.  If you don't follow instructions, we will come to your house in the night and SUFFOCATE YOU!"

That is what gets my attention.

It's been six months since I started working out at the BodyLab.  In that time, I've lost three inches off my waist, cut my body fat in half, and dropped over 30 lbs.  I haven't been at this weight since high school, and I'm in the best shape of my life.

They key to the BodyLab's success is the motivation and accountability that you don't get with other gyms.  The 30-minute workouts are high-intensity, and are done alongside other BodyLab members who are equally motivated.  The trainers don't let you slack off, and they get you to push yourself further than you ever would working out on your own.  By monitoring your meals, weight, and body fat percentage, the BodyLab holds you accountable for your actions outside the gym as well.

Before joining the BodyLab, my fitness routine could best be described as "half-assed."  I now see that spending time and money at a "regular" gym was a waste, and that true results are only achieved when you're fully committed.  Just six months at the BodyLab provided me with better results than a decade's worth of "regular" gyms.  I'm even in better shape than my younger brother, who's been doing CrossFit for the past five years.

There's a reason why the BodyLab has all 5-star reviews: all of us clients are thrilled with the results.  The workouts are challenging, yet fun.  The online scheduling system is useful and convenient.  The trainers are highly invested in getting their clients into shape, and the results reflect that.  Instead of throwing your money away by paying a monthly membership fee at a "regular" gym, why not invest in your health and take full advantage of all the BodyLab has to offer?  I did, and I couldn't be happier with the results.

Ok - I've just begun working out here but I have spent years and lots of money working out with other gyms and other trainers and have never had the personal attention Todd provides.

They make you personally accountable for your nutrition and provide daily input to your caloric intake from the day before.  They are always available for questions and provide quick and informative answers.  They genuinely seem to care about you even when you aren't at the gym standing in front of them.

I'm currently only at day 4 and right now in GREAT pain.  Let's be honest I have created some very cruel and creative nicknames for Todd (not to be spoken outloud and certainly not to be put in writing)...but once I can walk again I'm sure I'll be back to calling him more appropriate names and perhaps even Todd.

His workouts are intense and he pushes you hard and while I'm truly "yelping in pain" right now I have to admit it's one of the best workouts I've been through.

I have a long way to go to get to my end results so I will "Yelp" along the way to show how my progress is going.

I've been I client since August, and can definitely say these guys know what they're doing.  Having worked with several trainers at different clubs around Denver, none come close to the results I've seen here.

The best part for me has been they way they keep me accountable.  I needed someone to track my nutrition and get me into a good routine, and they've done just that. Unlike other gyms that just try to sell you more sessions, the trainers actually take an interest in your needs and create plans that work with your lifestyle.  Business trips no longer set me back weeks!

This is the best gym ever!!!

Currently I train with Todd and Matt, both are awesome trainers.  I trained with Matt before and I was in great shape.  Let myself go :( and now am back and getting in good shape again.

You get lots of personal attention, they watch your diet, and push you hard with training.  If more stars were available, I would give them more.  You have to try it out!

I have never been one to work out. The motivation to keep going to the gym is always something that has been lost on me. The BodyLab has completely changed my outlook on getting into shape. This is not your average gym!! The training sessions consist of circuit training in groups of up to 6 people. There is something about getting your butt kicked with 5 other people. Not only are you held accountable for the workout but you are working together as a group. It builds a community and creates a positive supportive environment. It's small and intimate with no room for egos.
Another great aspect of BodyLab is that it is not a "meat market". Being a young female going to the gym was not only a chore for the expected reasons, but also because you have to deal with being objectified. I have never had this feeling at BodyLab, if anyone is watching you workout it is because they are waiting their turn and preparing for the serious workout.
This is not just a gym it is a lifestyle. The trainers at BodyLab understand that their members are real people. We are busy, we work hard, and as a result we want to play hard. The BodyLab website offers recipes not only for your savory and sweet tooth, but cocktails as well! They will even reward you for sticking out an intense workout with a shot of tequila or whatever they choose.
I appreciate the fact that the trainers are consistent, they are personal, and they don't coddle! They expect a lot from their members. They push hard,  because they actually care!

I don't know exactly what to say when I'm going to BodyLab, a class, a session, a gym? I really don't know and at this point I don't care, but what I really know is that it's definitely a change of life experience. As a diplomat, I've lived in many countries and the first thing I look for when I have to establish in a new city is a good place to workout. I think myself very fortune of meeting Matt before opening BodyLab at another club, it prepare me for what was coming.
By joining BodyLab I not only learn how to really workout, I learn how to eat properly and to establish a new way of life, and more important, I found what I was really looking for to bring balance in my life.
BodyLab is nor for everyone, you will do more squads, push ups, pull ups etc than never  before in your life, but the best thing about it is that you will learn to love them and miss them everyday.
Unfortunately for me I will leave Denver sometime soon, and the thing that I will miss most is BodyLab, all the wonderful team that makes this place so great and the people that I have shared pain and gain thought almost 3 years.
Joining BodyLab is without any doubt the best investment I have ever done in me.

I moved back to Colorado this summer with a mission: I wanted to regain the health and fitness I had when I was a collegiate athlete. I'd just spent two years of my life teaching in a high poverty school West Philadelphia,  working 14 hour days taking care of other people, but not doing a thing to take care of myself. Here in Denver, I teach at an all-girls charter school focused on health and wellness called Girls Athletic Leadership School. How could I stand in front of a room full of girls, talking about health and wellness, or work out alongside them in the morning, and not tackle my own issues with food and fitness?

Seeing my best friend get married in July, I told her "I can't wait to get married so I can get back in shape." She said, "What are you waiting for?" On July 19, I started at BodyLab. I couldn't believe I was making such a significant financial commitment (I'm a teacher, people). On the other hand, I looked at what it would mean for me both personally and financially to continue carrying around 30+ extra pounds as the years go by and, with that cost-benefit analysis, my decision was pretty simple. This was an investment in myself, in preventative health.

Between the daily food guidance via e-mail (in what world would I actually have time to go see a nutritionist in person and actually keep appointments?) and the 30-minute workouts three times a week, my life has completely changed. I have not once missed a workout after two years in which I probably exercised 15 times. I have learned to eat three meals a day and two snacks after two years in which I cannot recall one meal I prepared for myself (my meals came from coffee, vending machines, Trader Joe's freezer food, takeout). Now I can read a menu and confidently order something that won't wreck my progress. I don't feel like I've had to give anything meaningful up (my biggest fear was that I would feel deprived); I feel like I've gained a whole new me (the old me!).

In less than three months' time, I have lost 12 pounds, as of my most recent fitness test, my body fat was down nearly 10% and I could do 22 pushups, as compared with 0 when I started. I am so proud to be able to stand in front of my students and be able to say with conviction that caring for your body is as important, if not more so, than caring for your mind. BodyLab has helped me see that caring for myself actually enables me to better care for others. The ultra-committed staff -- shoutouts especially to Melissa, Roger, Mary, Ryan and Steve! (ok Matt, too!!) -- are helping not only me, but the 90+ 6th- through 8th-grade girls I teach and interact with at my school. Through my self-improvement, I am able to model a healthy lifestyle for them (our school is committed to a holistic education emphasizing health, wellness and movement) and be more energetic, passionate and committed to my work.

This place just opened and I have started working out there with the head trainer Matt Damico. Put simply, the workouts kick my butt. Each time you go in, you get new exercises to for the same body groups so its always something fresh, and you work out in a group. I personally love the group work out as you feed off each other, like you are a team. Even better, the work out is only 30 minutes, and you can either start or end your work out with 30 minutes of cardio. To find what sessions you want to attend, you can view the schedule and sign up through their online scheduling system.

Matt will help you watch your diet by providing you a menu of suggested foods you should eat.  And if you choose to, you can provide him your daily food consumption.  If you don't, the grade he provides you might suffer though ;)  After each work out, you are weighed to see your progress, along with periodic body fat test.

This gym is definitely a change from the norm, but the bottom line is if you want to be in shape, and you are up for the challenge, then join.

After many hard lessons learned..and priceless time wasted..I found the Body Lab. Not The Gym, not The Club, not the Fit Class, not The Personal Trainer, I found THE PLACE where you learn that it is not easy but soo worth it.  You build a lifestyle that you can LIVE in. You meet people who motivate you and you want to be around.  Matt doesn't tell you what you want to hear..he runs the risk of hurting your feelings..but in the end..he has become one of the most supportive people in my life. He doesn't just care about the hour I am in the gym..he cares about the other 23 that I am not. No joke. The accountability is like NO OTHER GYM.  The environment is like NO OTHER GYM. DJ's with energy and motivation, Mary, the nutritionist, always there with suggestions and solutions. All of the trainers bring so many new ideas to the table.  Who has a class for people who sit at their desks all day? Back and Posture Class? WOW! There are never ending ideas and changes. The lifestyle you MAINTAIN and SUCCEED at is like NO OTHER GYM. Learning that it's OK. to drink, it's OK. to travel, it's OK. to eat, it's OK. to LIVE.  It is worth every penny. At the end of the day..What do you live for? If you are not being challenged, not being pushed outside of your comfort zone, what are you doing? Get to the Body Lab...you will not regret it.

I have been working out at The BodyLab for about 2 months now and absolutely love it. You think you know how to workout until you come here. Not only did I see results within the first few weeks, but I also felt better about myself. The BodyLab is very different from other gyms. They provide daily nutritional monitoring so you learn how to eat healthy as well. The trainers are awesome and commited to you! They make sure you don't slack off in the gym as well as outside of it. This is definately something that I need to keep me motivated. Having them behind me supporting and encouraging me to do my best, has made a HUGE difference not only in how I see myself physically but also how I see myself as a whole! This place is addicting and a life changing experience. Only come if you are serious about getting into shape! You WON'T be disappointed!!

I must admit, it's hard to impress me and keep my interest with workouts. This is mostly due to my need to be challenged, entertained... and work with trainers who don't put up with my whining and lame excuses!
The workouts at Body Lab are intense, technical (not for those who just want to max out on bench presses and grunt in front of the gym mirror) and force you to use your muscles in different ways to produce results that reading a magazine on an elliptical for 20 minutes simply can't deliver.
While the workouts are awesome, another huge selling point for me was the bad-A DJ spinning music while you sweat and work your tail off. The DJ and music give Body Lab the energy of a club...sans the seedy people and overpriced drinks, of course.
Speaking of drinks - on special occasions or after a particularly grueling workout, we will take shots. Yes, you read correctly - shots. Sometimes a little tequila, sometimes champagne and sometimes you don't want to know. Work hard, play hard.
Oh yes, there is one more thing that makes Body Lab the most fun you'll ever have feeling like you are near death - the random appearances by the trainers (mostly Matt) dressed like he just stepped out of Gold's Gym in 1986. These costumes usually consist of a wig just to complete the ridiculous look.
Needless to say, This is not the place for those who want to sweat to the oldies in an aerobics class. The Body Lab is for people who want to work hard, don't need to be coddled by a trainer, don't take themselves too seriously and who want to have a damn good time getting stronger inside and out.

If you are serious about losing weight, getting fit, toning muscle and/or just feeling awesome - then there is no place better than the Lab to do any of the above.  Matt and Todd are both motivating, great trainers and helpful with giving you proper nutritional information (as well as making you laugh - - a lot).  There is no "one size fits all" theory here - they manage to personalize the experience for everyone.  I have been working out with them for 8 weeks, have dropped 10 lbs, gained some good muscle tone, increased my speed while running and feel just plain great!

I've been working out with Matt and Todd for over 2 years now.   I'm going on 40 now and am truly in better shape than I was in college.  I'm down over 15 points on my bodyfat and 40+ lbs.

The workouts are great and always changing and challenging, but the best thing for me was the accountability on my eating. They've helped me learn good eating habit for a lifestyle as opposed to a diet.

I believe that along with the workouts and the lifestyle change with my eating I will continue to drop body fat until I hit my goal of under 10% and then keep it off for the rest of my life.

I highly recommend the Bodylab to anyone who is in need of a kickstart and someone to provide them with some accountability.

    Just another happy customer!

Matt and Todd at the BodyLab have helped me to focus my goals, develop the habits I need to meet them, the accountability to take responsibility for them, and the workouts to get me in what might be the best shape I've ever been in.  10 weeks and 7% less body fat, increasingly great tone, and in great shape---this is arguably one of the best decisions I've made in a very long time.

"Stop what you're doing cause I'm about to ruin the image and style that you're used to".   This is what the BodyLab will do to your body, your mind, the way you look at food and how you generally live your life.   I have been through the gantlet with personal training and simply....there ain't nothing like this anywhere I have seen.   In two months I have dropped by body fat by nearly 7% and added 7 pounds of muscle.  I was joking with Todd that I could feel the muscle difference in my chest alone.  But 7 pounds....come on!!    They have a sign that says "Your other personal trainer worries about you the hour he is with you; I worry about you the 23 you are not".   This is what makes this place special and it is.   So, with that said, stop reading this and call them.  Tell them it was the Humpty Dance quote that got you to call.   It won't get you anything special but you will have the peace of mind that you took the first step to getting in the best shape of your life.   I would say good luck but it has little to do with luck.   So,  how about I say Good Hard Work.   That's what it takes.  Later:-)
