Although I am no longer going to Pete due to tightening up my budget a little bit and diving more into my other workout routines (boxing/karate), I can say that this is the best strength training workout I have ever done (and I have been a life-long athlete).  I trained with Pete for 2 years straight and saw phenomenal results..including losing 35 pounds and almost doubling my strength in each category.  I do plan on going back in the near future now that my budget has loosened up a bit, but I highly recommend him for anyone who wants a brutal yet super effective workout.  He's awesome!!

As far as trainer's go, Pete is the best. But this isn't your normal personal training. It's an alternative workout without the need for countless hours at the gym.

If you're specifically looking for the Super Slow style of workout, Pete is extremely knowledgeable and certified. If you're not familiar, then go talk to Pete -- your relentless hours on the cardio machine will be  over.

My wife and I have been working with Pete for nearly a year now and we look and feel great. It's amazing how strong you can get with just 20 minutes of workout per week.

Pete really knows his stuff and explains everything in great detail so you can be confident you're getting the optimum workout. He's also an easy going guy and fun to talk to -- while he's whipping you in to shape, of course.

I highly recommend this style workout and fitness -- and Pete is the perfect trainer to guide you.

I've been doing High Intensity Strength Training (often called SuperSlow) since 2002, starting in Seattle with Greg Anderson of Ideal Exercise.  When I moved to the SF Bay area in 2006 I took a little over a year off due in part to the difficulty I was having finding a Super Slow trainer in the area.

    Luckily I eventually found Pete.

The Body Mastery studio is a lot like other SuperSlow studios I have seen.  It's free of distractions, no mirrors on the walls, the temperature is well-controlled, there's no music playing, and usually you and your trainer are the only people there.  Prior to beginning the workout most equipment is already set up for you, allowing for a fast transition from one machine to the next.  This allows you to focus completely on each exercise, minimize your cardiovascular rest between each machine, and you're in and out within 30 minutes.

Pete is an awesome trainer who knowledgeable and skilled.  He knows what he's doing.  He's there to set up the equipment you need and to chart your progress, but also to make sure you maintain the proper form for maximum benefit from the exercise.  He also helps to motivate you, keep you focused as you work through your routine, and to explain why things are done the way they are.  Also, appointment-based training with a trainer is a lot harder to skip than just stopping in at your local gym.  You can't just put it off and say "I'll go tomorrow...".

For anyone who wants to get all of the benefits of strength training without the hours in the gym every week, using a safe, proven technique, I strongly recommend doing your research on the SuperSlow protocol and talking to Pete.  He'll change your body for the better!

I badly injured my back in November 2006 and spent several months in physical therapy with piss-poor results. I couldn't get a straight answer from anyone about how to strengthen my back, and speaking with the "trainers" at 24 fitness scared me b/c they were so ignorant.

My parents finally browbeat me into going to this program, since my stepdad--a doctor--does a similar thing back in milwaukee. I've been doing it around two months now and the results are night and day. My back hardly ever hurts at all and I am in much better physical condition. Pete is cool and very supportive, and I have gone up as much as 100 pounds on some machines since I started.

As far as a workout goes, I used to do Muay Thai kickboxing and I can tell you, while very different, this workout can be just as intense. As mentioned by the other posters, it's also well worth it if your non-refundable time is valuable to you, since it's so quick.

Pete is an awesome trainer.  Each training kicks my butt.

I started going to Body Mastery after doing a lot of research to find a place in SF that has medical grade equipment and uses the super slow protocol.  This is the one and only place in SF.

My mom and my in-laws have been doing super slow strength training and have lost weight and really improved their physiques.

I started seeing Pete just 5 weeks ago and I have increased the amount of weight I can do by 25% and my back problems are gone!  Pete knows what to do depending on your gaols.  He has really helped my bf and I with our backs.

Pete's workout is absolutely, without question, the number one most effective and efficient workout I have ever done in my life.  And I'm a pretty athletic guy, so that's really saying something.

When I first heard about the methodology, I was a little skeptical, but figured I'd give it a shot.  I'm a total convert now.  I have never been this strong, ever.  Love it.

When I moved to SF, I was looking for a change from the all-too-common gym routine and discovered super slow lifting. Curious (and a smidge skeptical), I dove right into this unique regime and, within a couple of weeks, I felt and looked stronger.

Each workout is focused and intense but it only requires about 20 minutes to run through a 7 station circuit--which thrashes me and leaves me with much more time to play outside. That's 20 minutes a week(!), not the 4-5 hours a week I used to do.

Pete is consistently positive. He keeps you focused, steadfastly tracks your progress, and educates you along the way. And he's been flexible when I needed that in my schedule.

If you want to get out of the gym and spend more time in your real life, then give Pete a call and try it yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Pete has got it figured out for people who want to get the maximal affects from a workout plan but are busy. He has a very unique set-up that helps you push your body in a safe and controled setting. He's also funny, interesting and friendly which is a plus.
