I walked in here one day on my way home to get a pedicure and eyebrow wax. They are very small and apparently only have 1 person who can do nails so the girl told me I couldn't get my pedicure even though I was the only person in there, just wax.

So I had my eyebrows waxed, the girl used way too hot wax, she burned my skin and it ended up peeling for a couple days after. I've had my eyebrows waxed tons of times and this has never happened to me before. Ouch.

Anyways I really wanted to give them another shot and try and get a pedicure, I called ahead this time and tried to schedule an appointment (in the middle of a week day mind you, not a prime time) and once again they told me they were booked and couldn't get me in until way later in the day which I couldn't do. I tried to make an appointment the following day, same story. I just gave up at this point. They apparently don't want my business if they can't accommodate more than one client at a time. And they burned my eyebrows. Thumbs down! I'm guessing the 2 other reviews are by employees... considering one uploaded a ton of photos. Spa goers beware!

I think it's great getting feedback from the owner, but I have no reason to exaggerate my experience on my review. I wasn't having a bad day prior to me getting here if my review was read correctly.  It probably was bad after this though.  I don't have any prior relationship with anyone working here or incented to write a biased, negative or positive review.  If so, I would preface that by saying so.  When I came in I saw someone else sitting at the sofa with a robe on drinking tea, so believe me I was waiting for someone to ask me if I wanted something to drink.  I was waiting for someone to tell me what was going on when it was 10 minutes past my appointment time already.  I feel that I was more than patient and willing to set my frustrations with what was going on aside and was pretty forgiving.  When somone did come by to say something, it was that we'll be with you soon - nothing was asked if everything was ok, nor was I told that someone before me is running late, or if I  had some place else I needed to be.  Soon is very vague because that ended up being an extra 10 minutes more, which is when I finally got up to ask what was going on.  I do have to say that coming in and asking to fill out a form felt very much like going into a doctor's office without having to provide my insurance when the person at the desk isn't very friendly.  As a member of Yelp, and having written over 800 reviews of public establishments for the past several years I pride myself on giving honest feedback and speaking true to my experience and would not make something up.  I get asked by friends, family and coworkers all around for recommendations.  I don't just make something up and if I'm giving a good recommendation to someone they will more than likely have a postiive experience.  I know that if I am going to a place for the first time that I will be yelping it, so I am especially aware of what is going on.  I can see that the owner here has been very responsive and defensive towards all the reviews that have been written.  It's tough not to take things personally, but if all the other reviews that were posted on here had something negative to say about their experience it must say something about the place.  I have always been interested in consumer behavior and what drives people to buy or go some place and it's certainly the customer experience.  It's why I love my job.  Statistically speaking, and my job is in the realm of statistics if even 4 reviews prior to me going had 1 star (I should have yelped the place prior so I didn't even know what to expect at all) then the likelihood that mine would also be bad would be greater and that happened to be true.  Sorry, data and information do not lie - how you interpret and what you do with it in terms of improving it is what makes the difference.  The way I see it is that the people that work there know that their jobs would be on the line so they do have more of a reason to say something that isn't true.  Customers have nothing to gain or lose by talking about their experience.  Most of us want our local businesses to survive, (yours included) but it's the businesses' responsibility to provide a satisfactory experience as well.  I have to say I'm surprised that the response for these reviews isn't more of how can we make your experience better or get you to come back.  I love to go to new places and try them out and have been described as a fair person so i have found the responses back from the owner here to be pretty appalling.

In response to Body & Soul I was NOT 12 min late first and for most. Second I do NOT own a spa I own a salon and we ONLY offer hair services. Customer service is HUGE to us, our clients are treated with respect and we VALUE their business. I have NEVER written a review before however my experience was so disappointing I felt the need to write one. I know I personally would appreciate any and all critism so I can improve my clients experience. The reason I went to your spa was not only because I support the pretty city promo but because I believe in supporting all local business's. I love spa treatments and your spa would have been very convenient, I also was looking for a spa to refer clients since we do NOT offer ANY body treatments. I respect and support female business owners, being one myself. I simply wrote a review on my experience. If you valued your customers you could have reached out to me to correct the situation. I would have been MORE than happy to say everyone has a bad day and MAYBE I was wrong. However your response supports the experience I had at your spa. I wish you the best of luck in your business and I'm sorry if my review upset you however I would hope you wouldn't take it personally but would make the changes necessary. I was not the only bad review.
