Yummy and fresh food! We had crab rangoon, tempura, shrimp and noodle claypot dish and lemon grass chicken. Also, had all their desserts -- small portions, though.
Can't believe it's in Berwyn!
Somebody keeps changing this listing indicating Bodhi Thai is closed: it's not. It's alive and delicious!
I have nothing to add to Leon F's review - he's spot on.
Go eat, you'll love it.
This is hands down my favorite Thai place, I just wish I didnt live so far away!
Everything is always so fresh and cooked with pure love. It's like eating at my grandmothers, had my grandmother been Thai, and cooked things like OxTail stew or made Som Tum...
Everythings always fresh, and totally made to order. Plus they have an ever changing blackboard of specials! Oh and if you tried something there and suddenly they dont have it.... you can call ahead and they'll cook it for you! This place is incredible!
Based on Delivery and Food:
Delicious!
Order: Crab Rangoo, Potstickers, Pad Thai Noddles
Delivery: Quicker than I was quoted which was great and the delivery guy was nice and genuine :)
The Pad Thai Noodles is a very filling plate for $7; two people could enjoy this dish and be full.
FYI: there is a $12 minimum on delivery orders.
This is a cute place. I walked and was impressed by the peaceful, earth toned decor. I thought the food was delicious. Definitely return trip worthy. I ordered the Pad Woon sen with chicken. It was great. I've tried this from several Thai restaurants and this is the only one that tasted "fresh" and "clean". I loved the crab rangoon. I'm definitely going back. Maybe today. =) There were other things on the menu that caught my eye. No wait time. I walked in and was tended to immediately.
This was our 1st and LAST TIME HERE after our terrible experience. My boyfriend and I walked in and didn't get seated for nearly 10mins and mind you know wait an the restaurant, it was nearly empty and the young man who was standing in back of the island was picking his nose and ear seen us but never came and sat us down. He still kept picking. Wow wasn't a pleasant greeting at all. The waitress finally acknowledges us and comes and seats us. Are you serious 1menu okay yeah I can share but damn. The waitress again missing took literally 30mins to take our order and again restaurant still empty. I'm about ready to tell my boyfriend to let's go somewhere else. Oh and there is no "special menu" as they say there is in the menu.
Appetizer comes: Sweet Potato Fritter served burnt to the crisp. Guess what? The waitress never brought plates. The owner seen we had no plates with our appetizer, he finally brought the plates. Entree: Ordered: Chicken Pad Thai: The chicken was under cooked and had a sour taste to it that was unpleasant. My boyfriend ordered the Coconut Noodles with shrimp. His shrimp was still frozen and clear in the middle. We wave the owner to show him the problem with our food was and waitress follows our ignorant waitress starts laughing but the owner seen the food was very well undercooked and appoligized. This places isn't worth it. I seen the delivery drivers and believe the smashed a car incident and the terrible driving skills. They were driving reckless down Roosevelt. We won't be returning or giving our bussiness to this place.
What the F am I a fatty or what!? I went back 2 days after I went to the grand opening! haha
This time I went with the boyfriend, I told hime he needed to try it. Me and him can get down on some Thai food! We have a takeout menu at home so I knew what I wanted. So I thought! We ended up getting two appetizers, three entrees and shared a dessert. We already knew the waitress was going to think we were crazy. We were prepared. She made sure twice that we wanted all that, we laughed and said "yeah"
They brought out complimentary cucumber salad which was tasty. The cucumbers where cut and i liked how thick they were. Not thin and soggy. Here's what we ordered...
He had the shrimps in a blanket which he enjoyed, they were pretty big shrimp to me. I had chicken Tom Yum soup, we ended up sharing it because it was in a huge bowl. I think it's one of my favorite tom yums so far. It was spicy though! whew! I'm really trying to build that spice tolerance.
Our entrees
Basil noodles-tasty! But reminded me of not sweet pad see eww but I still liked it. I got it not spicy because I was afraid.
Panang-we got it with beef. The boyfriend usually gets this dish and I've never ever liked it until here. its not so coconutty(is that a word?!) The beef is tender and wonderful. He really liked it and we ate it all. I can't wait to try their other curries, especially that jungle curry. Mmmmm
Lemongrass chicken-ehhh. I'm the one that wanted to try it. I'm spoiled with viet lemongrass chicken which is great This one not so much. To bland for me but one thing that I couldn't get enough of was the mushrooms they used in the dish. Best mushrooms I've ever eaten. I ate all of them first. This is the only thing we didn't finish and took home. I did eat it the next day though!
Thai custard-is the devil. I wish I knew how to make this stuff.
I was so upset they didn't have thai iced tea or the corn fritters I wanted to try.
Ill be back soon to try again =)

This is Berwyn's FIRST Thai restaurant! We're coming on up guys! I used to have to drive to Forest… Read more »
Finally, a Thai restaurant in Berwyn! I walked in and right away I was impressed by the decor. The walls were a pleasant green with hardwood floors and cool looking Thai figurines made of brass, the lighting was excellent as well.
The waitress took about 10 minutes before she finally acknowledged my guest and I, and made it very clear with her body language and attitude that she was not happy to work. The manager finally came to our table and apologized for the long wait and for the waitress not bringing us any glasses with water.
I ordered the green papaya salad for starters, it was excellent, it was tangy and spicy, just the way I like it. I ordered the coconut noodles with shrimp. It arrived at my table in a fancy plate and it smelled great but I was quickly displeased when I bit into the shrimp, it was a bit chewey and fishy tasting. I bit into another one and thats when I realized that they were raw. I called the waitress over to our table and she brought the manager over, he looked at the half bitten shrimp an I pointed it out was still quite raw, he agreed and apologized and did not charge me for the disappointing dinner. I really wanted to like this place but based of this experience I think I'll stick to my favorite place.
We ordered take out so I can't speak to the atmosphere and the actual facilities (yet, but we will go there in person too).
We ordered the Spring Roll, Wonton Soup, Cashew Chicken, Pad Thai with beef, and Crag Rangoon. Crab Rangoon is always good so that isn't hard to do. The Cashew Chicken was really great! The Pad Thai was lacking a little bit of sauce but had good flavor. I loved the Spring roll and the best was the Wonton Soup.
They were really friendly and the service was very fast, even though we live on the opposite side of Berwyn. I'm glad to see great local places here.
Yay for a Thai place in Berwyn that delivers to all of Berwyn! It's been a long time coming. I have only had delivery, so I can't say anything about the restaurant service itself. When I ordered on Friday night, I ordered the Tom Yum Veggie soup and the Pad Kee Mao veggie. The Tom Yum soup was delicious. Packed with veggies and in a clear lemongrass broth that was spicy, but not outrageously so. The Pad Kee Mao I was a bit disappointed in, but that was because it lacked the spicy I was expecting. Hopefully that was just a one time occurrence. The prices were also quite reasonable. I know I will use them in the future.
bodhi thai bistro has potential to be a 5 star restaurant but instead i have to give it 3 stars...im very sorry for this bodhi but your service was awful..even though the girls are smoking hot..it didnt make up for the 2.5 hour dinner
i had the tom yum..it was ok..the lemongrass was really way to strong but the spice was perfect..it was very fresh..the wonton soup was better..
the apps were a 5star for sure...the crab rangoon was fantastic as were the sweet potato corn fritters and the shrimp dumplings..very good all with good home made sauces..
the dinner was so so..i had chicken pad thai extra spicy with pineapple..my standard asian order..it was ok..kind of bland..other dishes i tried were the red snapper..interesting concept it was fried somehow...and some sort of beef and onion dish which was just ok..
overall the decor is 5star but this place needs some work to go up in my rating system..since we all know my rating system is the only one that really matters...they need to fix the cracked glass window which looks like someone shot a .27 through the window..they need to get about 10 more tables in this joint..cause its way too busy..and they need to hire about 10 more servers/hostesses/ cooks..and stop cheapin out on money..this place has potential..so make it happen
My boyfriend and I went here on the first Friday they were open. I agree with the previous reviewer that if your not looking for it, you might miss it. The decor is appealing and simple. We started out with tofu satay, which was delicious. It had a curry marinade and a peanut dipping sauce. It also came with a cucumber and red onion salad which was good. My boyfriend ordered a curry tofu dish and I had the panang curry. Both of the dishes were excellent. The place was pretty busy so that was promising. My only gripe is that they did not have some of the items on the menu. But it is all the more reason to go back for the corn fritters.
Great food, great prices, and they deliver. Have dined in and ordered out. They are in a great space, though no liquor license. Everything I have had is great. Especially love all the sauces. The spicy basil noodles are excellent. Portion sizes are just right, and prices are even better. Can order for the three of us for under $35 (apps and entree).
We went last Saturday. It was cold and raining. We got there around 6:30. I really liked the decor and how the tables were set up. Our server was very nice. We has the shrimp shu mai(yum), I had the basil noodles, hubby had the seafood curry. Is it just me or squid should not be an ingredient in seafood curry, way overcooked. Also, he asked for HOT and the spicy level was not there. Considering it was so icky out, the place was full. I did notice they did alot of pick-up orders. We liked the food and will go back.
