This campground is decent.

Pros:
- unbeatable location and surroundings
- access to Sonoma as well as the Pacific coast
- close-ish to Tomales Bay and Bodega Bay
- inexpensive
- nice facilities

Cons:
- RVs everywhere.
- busy
- uneven campground sizes, some are tiny and others are huge.
- some of the spots on the edge of the grounds are quite literally next to a road, which takes away the feeling of being out in nature. That is, if the plethora of RVs hadn't already taken care of that for you.
- noise from other campsites

Other thoughts:
- odd campground selection process: when you arrive, the ranger makes you tour the campground to pick out your top three choices. At that point, you must return to the ranger station to make your selection.
- for car camping, it's not bad but it's not great either.

This is California camping at its best. Outdoor adventurers are provided with all they'll need for an unforgettable overnight experience: picnic table, food cabinet, fire pit, water spicket and nearby bathroom. Venture from one of the 98 campsites with hot showers and flush toilets and you're on the secluded beach with orange sunsets and joy in your heart.   It's located in Sonoma just an hour from SF on HWY 101 but if you believe the ride is part of the experience, do as we did and take HWY 1 with its verdant hills and splendid views and you won't know if you're in California, Cannes or Corcaigh. Beware of weather: Mid-March means it'll be windy and cold so pack your parkas.
