My Honey brought me here for a little weekend getaway and I can't imagine a better place.
Our room was simply decorated, but lovely. Black granite fireplace, comfy sofa, whirpool tub and an unobstructed ocean view. The bed was extremely comfy and the linens are good quality. I can't tell you how awesome it was to soak in that huge tub, then sit in front of a warm fire and then crawl into that big warm bed. I slept better than I had in weeks. Oh, and when I woke up? I walked to the window to look at the ocean. Do you know what else I saw? A deer, about 15 yards away.

It doesn't get much more tranquil.

Some other reviewers had some issues with the foghorn, but I live in the outer richmond in sf and the horn in bodega is pretty much a whisper next to the horns out here.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Room service delivered promptly (we had breakfast delivered... tasty!) and the wine service in the lobby (5-6pm) was a nice touch.

Overall, if you're looking to get away and relax for a few days (esp if you live in SF) this place is tops.

Beautifully appointed rooms with a nice view of the bay. Pillow top beds with down comforters and handsome furniture. Very reasonable price also.

They have free wine and cheese in the lobby each day from 5 to 6 PM.

Other reviewers have mentioned the fog horn as being bothersome, and I have to say had I not read about it on Yelp before we got to the the hotel I may not have even noticed it. You can hear it off in the distance, but it is not loud at all and certainly did not disturb my sleep.

We did not use the spa services, so cannot comment on that aspect of the hotel.

A Great Place to Relax... If a fog horn doesn't drive you mad!

Its funny reading these reviews either you Love Bodega Bay Lodge & Spa or the fog horn is too much for you to handle. Yes yelpers, its true there is a fog horn that beeeeeeeeps all day and night. Fortunately for me, it fades into the background.

We have stayed here on several occasions and I must say, The remodel is CUTE. Especially the Shower- although I would enjoy a different shower head. The staff is accommodating. The rates are great. The Duck Club Restaurant is tasty! I look forward to my next stay.

Came here for getaway from the city and it wasn't cheap. We wanted to stay somewhere with a fireplace and so we settled here for $260 for one night. We were surprised when we parked by our room we saw a ferrari, lamborghini, and corvette parked nearby.  The bathroom in our room looked very new and we had a view of the bay and the pool area. We had fun with the fireplace because we decided to use this opportunity to toast marshmallows.  I did hear the foghorn, but it was very faint and we did not have any trouble falling asleep. All in all, it was a good experience, but we'll only come back if there is a super deal on the rooms.

We had a wonderful time here.  The grounds are very pretty, and the ocean and wetland views are wonderful.  Quail, deer, rabbits, and other wildlife were all spotted right off the paths.  Our room (with fireplace, balcony and a great view) was very nice -- not spectacular, but perfect for two people who spent most of their time out-and-about.  The massages were among the best we've had (80 minutes went by in a flash), and the hot tub was kept at just the right temperature.

The Duck Club restaurant (which is part of the Lodge & Spa) was just so-so for breakfast (see my separate review; we didn't try it for dinner), but there are several other good-to-great restaurant alternatives in the area.  The Lodge is within easy driving distance of both Jenner and Valley Ford (as well as other restaurants in Bodega Bay, of course).  There's also free nightly wine & cheese from 5 to 6 pm. in the lodge's lobby (the wine was very good).  A great experience, and as others mentioned, we got a discounted two-night rate too.

My wife and I spent our anniversary weekend at the Bodega Bay Lodge and Spa. We got the Spa package which included a couples massage as well as $25 gift certificate to the Duck Club. After making the reservation online, I called to set up the dinner reservation a few weeks before our weekend. After hanging up the phone, they called me right back. The person at the front desk said that he noticed we signed up for the spa package and that the spa often fills up. He suggested that we book our appointment now. I really appreciated their initiative. When we arrived, they weren't full so they upgraded us to a nicer room. We both had a wonderful massage from Meegan and Lauren. They were great. The whole weekend was wonderful. Everyone was friendly and the place was really nice.

Warm and welcoming from the first phone call.

In fact, they were so nice, my friend and I decided to add on a 2nd massage at the last minute.  We were lucky that they could accommodate us.

Our room was well appointed and very comfortable with a lovely view of the ocean.  Ahhhh.  I read reviews mentioning the fog horn, but really......we had to strain to hear it.....and it did not interfere with sleeping at all.  Only complaint:  the lights were very faint....even in the bathroom during the day.  We had to do our makeup near the balcony with the hand mirror in order to get good light.  A brighter bulb or two would help this.

Food was great!  Room service was prompt and hot.  Dining in the Duck Club was comfortable, not rushed, and they had Peet's coffee!!  The James Beard french toast was a real treat!

Spa services.  Ok, this is what we really loved.  They give you robes in your room, so you wear those to the spa.  There is a nice small waiting room next to the work out room.  The spa rooms are typical and comfortable and play very soft music.  I recommend the hot stone massage........sooooo relaxing!!  Both massage therapists that I had were very nice.

All in all, it was a wonderful break from city life.  I would love to go back.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Bodega Bay Lodge & Spa! We have been going to the Bodega Bay Seafood Festival for about  three years now and this is the first we have ever stayed at the Bodega Bay Lodge & Spa and what a stay it was. The ladies at the front desk are cheerful and are a true delight. Rosemary at the front desk was great! She was kind enough to make reservations for us at the Rivers End and we had the BEST table in the restaurant! Our room was fantastic, it had an incredible view and was super clean. We also use the pool and sauna which were awesome! We will definitely make the Bodega Bay Lodge & Spa a tradition after the Bodega Bay Seafood Festival.

So normally if there is anything to complain about it...I will find it and promptly do so. Being that I work in the hospitality feild, am a foodie and as my boyfriend says "super picky"...it was truly amazing that I found nothing. The only minimally annoying thing was that we put out the "privacy please" sign when we left for the morning and came back to a clean room. Hard to complain too much about that.

As for everything else:

Well appointed, clean, spacious room...check
Warm, friendly and helpful front desk staff...check
Prompt room service...check
Excellent on site dining option...check
Didn't feel like a rip-off...check
Great ammenities...check

Furthermore, it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop...or in this case a very faint distant foghorn blow (I'm a serious light sleeper and it didn't bother me at all). Very relaxing, comfortable and casual feel. If you are fan of Julia Morgan/Asilomar architecture it has that feel to it. Overall a wonderful, romantic weekend!

This may seem to be a good place for families and kids...but as a mother with 3 young children who wants some peace, quiet and a little romance...please don't bring the little noisemakers.

My stay here was pretty fantastic.  It was a romantic getaway, so I'm sure that made the stay even better.  When we arrived, the staff told us they were full so they HAD to bump us up to the "Captain's Quarters."  Massive.  Seriously huge room for two people.  Plus a balcony.  It was very romantic and had a nice view.

We had dinner at the hotel as well and it was really delicious.  I can't remember what I got (that sounds ridiculous after saying it was delicious), but my bofriend had the duck and he loved it.  Overall, it was relaxing, luxurious in a rustic kind of way and just a pleasure.

when i called for a reservation the young girl that answered the phone was less than friendly, she put me on hold for about 5 mins. i made a reservation, $300/night. (that's definetley pricey for me and my fiance)

we had to cancel the reservation and they were rude about it, like i was waisting their time. just from the attitude that i got from both of the women on the phone makes me want to skip this place all together.

I spent 3 days and two nights here. The staff was excellent and the room and view was amazing. Of course the weather was perfect as well.

Michael, (The manager of the hotel?) was very helpful and made some great recommendations as to where to go and what to see nearby. I recommend getting a bottle of the champagne when you arrive with some fresh strawberries.

We ate diner in town one night and at the Duck Club the other. The Duck club is a nice restaurant and has a solid menu. I asked for a bottle of Champagne and dessert to be put in our room so we could enjoy it on our balcony.

Overall we had a great experience because the staff was super friendly and accommodating. The room wasn't the most glamorous but it was perfect for our tastes. Most importantly the location was perfect. If you like the beach, the ocean, and like surroundings you will love this place.

Stayed here for a one night get-away from SF and it was awesome.  We started the day with a hike at Pt. Reyes and then drove up Hwy 1 along Tomales Bay-  one of the most underrated drives around.  Stopped off at Nick's Cove for oysters and then up to Bodega Bay Lodge.

Staff was friendly, rooms were very comfortable and the whole place had a peaceful, serene, naturalistic air about it.  We had a view and a fireplace.  Bring a bathing suit for the out door tub and heated pool.

Dinner at the Lodge's Duck Club restaurant was very good (see separate Duck Club review)

We've done weekend trips to Mendocino before and this was every bit as beautiful and romantic with far less hassles.

Nice little getaway spot! I was able to get a deal on a room here thanks to my employer & it was well worth the price we paid. We got the "Whirlpool Room" which was huge with vaulted ceilings, fireplace, patio overlooking the bay & ocean, & a whirlpool tub in the bathroom. I won't say how much I paid, but trust me, it was a steal. Unfortunately it was a bit too cold to spend too much time on the balcony (I'm sure that is the case 95% of the time there) but it was nice to peek out every once in a while & enjoy the view. The hotel is within walking distance of Doran Beach, nice for strolling & watching happy dogs run their little legs off.

Although service was good, it was performed by dunces. We arrived at 4pm and was told ( along with 20 others) that rooms weren't ready yet but in 15 minutes would be. We had a 5 year old who was tired and hungry, yet very well behaved. We waited patiently playing games and such. Finally 1 hour later after all but one couple had their names called we asked for our room. "Oops" he says. "Your rooms been ready for an hour". Great Thanks. Get key go to room.

Room is beautiful, beds rock ( great for our jumping tournament later), Fireplace yeah, view spectacular.  Also to note a great(Drakes) beach is about a 5 minute walk. The restaurant has excellent dinners and brunches, also with a nice view of the marsh. We didn't visit the spa although they did have a small pool and hot tub overlooking the bay.

Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay along the beautiful Sonoma coast for a little weekend getaway. The rooms were fantastic---all have wonderful views. Cozy fireplace, nice comfy bed, clean simple decor, huge bathroom, excellent room service, heated pool + hot tub... and if you book on-line you can get some amazing deals!

We made it up here on a rainy weekend for my boyfriend's birthday. After a looooong drive, I was happy to make it inside and be greeted right away at the front desk. The guest services people were really friendly and got me checked in right away. We got there at 5:00pm just in time for the complimentary wine tasting hour! They had a red and a white wine that you could try as well as some fruit, cheeses, and bread to munch on. That was a nice welcome after a long drive!

We stayed in the upper pacific room which was on the second floor and had a great view of the bay. The room was good sized, had a king sized bed, fireplace, table, bar area, and balcony facing the ocean. The bathroom was also pretty big. The decor was modern, clean, and sleek.

I'd advise anyone who stays here to take advantage of the grounds! The grounds are well kept and lush with pathways and benches. There's a good sized pool and hot tub as well as a decent sized gym with views of the ocean. The gym/spa area is really nice with lots of amenities such as towels, water, tea, and fruit.

The beach is also just a 10 minute walk from the lodge and is gorgeous! There's two miles of beach, lots of views, and tons of waves! I'd definitely advise taking a look.

We had intended to have dinner at The Duck Club, however decided to stay in instead so I can't comment on it except that the lobby is very nice and the dining room looked cozy and lush.

Overall, we had a great time at the Bodega Bay Lodge & Spa! It was a really relaxing and luxurious getaway. I would definitely recommend it!

We went here for our honey moon a couple months back.  This place is wonderful.  Since its in Bodega bay it can be very chilly even tho the sun is out but the resort makes the best of it.  Very nice view from any room from what we saw.  We were in the ocean suite and it was just a magnificent conclusion to months of planning for my wife and I.  My wife and I indulged on an in room service massage and it was nothing less than an amazing experience.  Apparently it was so amazing that i feel asleep in the last 5 minutes of the massage and was snoring quite loudly, while my wife was trying not to laugh...from what iv been told by her.  Excellent room service as we ordered from their kitchen (also the Duck Club)  two nights.

No matter if you are an older couple, or a recently married one.  This place is gorgeous and you well have the time of your life for a cheap getaway from the city life.

This was our second stay at the lodge as well as dinner in the "Duck Club" This is, in my opinion as a retired hotelier, one of the best places to stay and eat!!! From the moment you make a reservation for room and restaurant the service and approach are warm and professional. Their other properties within the Woodside Hotels portfolio are equally good.
I can't say enough, it is a hoteliers' hotel and we will return as frequently as possible.

This place is awesome! When you get in your room they give you a welcoming phone call. The room was nice, it had a fire place, a bed, a pull out couch,a chair to relax in, a T.V. a bible, a desk, and two night stands. The bathroom was very big and nice with blue counters, and seashell lamps.  They also have a hot tub outside. There was an amazing view of the ocean outside, I reccomend this place to you all.

For the $260 I paid to stay here I expected more.

Our newly remodeled room was only partially remodeled.  The carpet was new and the paint was fresh.  But, the mini bar, the tile and mantle around the fireplace, the dresser and the shell filled lamps were horribly old.  The bathroom was yummy though. It was definitely remodeled and the shower had one of those rain-head shower heads although the pressure was a little light.

We didn't utilize the spa on our stay which perhaps was a miss.  Nor did we utilize the pool since it was windy and 50 the day we there.  And the view from our second floor Bodega Room was great.  (See my pics).

Since it was in the 50s and below when we stayed we needed to use the heat.  The heating unit which was on my side of the bed clicked loudly each time it went on and off.  It awoke me at 2:30am which was when I noticed the foghorn that other Yelpers have described.  I thought, at first, it was something in my room.  I began looking for it, trying desperately not to wake my bf before I realized it was outside.  I then fixated on it until 4am.

The next morning we had a ridiculously priced breakfast.  They charged an extra $5 for 2 pieces of bacon.  And, our pancakes were burnt for the most part.  (see my review of The Duck Club for my dinner review).

For the money, this is not much of a deal.

Stayed here with the husbandido...it was one of those weekends where you just needed to focus on you and not worry about other things, places, and people.

I've always loved Bodega Bay and try to come out at least once a year with some good friends. this is my first time out here in the lodge; we're usually in the rented homes on the golf course. You'll find GREAT accomodations, and the view is wonderful. I called to see what last minute deals were available and I got crazy hooked up and we were much happier after everything was said and done.

It might be as centrally located as the other poster listed, but honestly, you're in bodega bay to recharge and not get out and about with the peeps, nah mean? But if you're craving people, there's only one major strip you need to get on and that will take you everywhere you need to go. easy cheesy.

We'll be back again for sure!

I got hitched here. Which means that despite a couple of ridiculous snags, I super love it forever and ever, except when el husbandido is being a jerk.

We had a very small wedding, only about fifteen people. Both of our families live on the other side of the country, and we really wanted something intimate and low key.

The awesome: Our suite was gorgeous. The bathroom was huge, with a whirlpool tub and a separate shower. There was ample mirror space, which was suddenly so necessary. I never thought I was obsessed with my appearance, but something about the idea of the wedding photo album led to some serious primping. The bed was ginormous and very comfy, and the living area had a slate fireplace and enough room for four nervous chicas to get their hair done.

There was a little patio area, and at dusk the night before the wedding, we sat out there with a bottle of wine and watched quail feeding in the bushes. They would peck around in the grassy areas separating the various rooms' patios from each other, and then run as fast as they could across the open space. When they ran, the little bobbly things on their heads flopped all over the place. I laughed so much that it actually helped with my jitters.

The food at our reception was excellent. Because the party was so small, their event planner helped us make out a mini menu with four meal options, and everyone could pick what they wanted. They made an asparagus souffle for lame veggie me, and we had fillet, chicken, and fish options. The appetizers were also great; even the chicken fingers that the SO insisted on. I was thinking bar food, but they were more like a satay, which I was much happier with.

The pretty okay: They screwed up my parent's reservation. They only had them booked for two of the three nights, even though all the rooms were booked as a block. They found a room for my folks, but they had to schlep all their stuff to a different room for the next night. My dad nearly had a fit in the lobby, but we all got free wine and chocolate covered strawberries by way of apology. So I forgave them.

We had a bartender booked for the reception. He was very friendly, but he had no idea how to make a daiquiri. Rum, lime juice, simple syrup. It isn't rocket science. He did produce a damn fine whiskey sour, so I forgave him too.

The lame: Their restaurant, The Duck Club, is supposedly open for breakfast. And, once they let you in, the food is quite good. But to get to that food, you have to wait outside of the empty restaurant for about thirty minutes with bunch of other cranky, hungry folks, while the staff finds their heads and butts and screw them back on.

Bottom line: It's a beautiful place for a romantic weekend, but is a little shaky on the fine details of a special event. I had a fabulous time, but that's at least partly because my folks and shiny new in-laws were putting out all the fires.

Oh, and I loved the foghorn. It fit in with the whole narrative I'd developed for my hitchification. Which you will now forget I've mentioned; that shit be crazy.

Worest experience ever!!
1)Fog Horn from the bay beeping every 10 sec since 8 pm till the next day morning! we call the operator and they said nothing they can do about it and each room of the building will hear that as well

2)we made sure the wood log completely burned out at the fireplace before we go to bed. Around midnight, me and my bf started choking when we turned on the light, smoke was everywhere in the room and the smoke detector didn't even beep! we could die in the room

I found a great Internet deal, and got a room for only $139.  Our deal included a bottle of wine upon check in, which when it all came down to it- was a bargain!

It was a nice little romantic getaway from the city. The staff were very friendly and organized upon arrival, there were alot of people checking in at the same time. Our room had a clear view of the bay and a private balcony.  The fireplace and ipod dock were also an added bonus.  The bed was extremely comfy with lots of fluffy pillows. There were also some bath robes included, which were kinda nice to lounge in.

I didn't think the fog horn was as loud and annoying as others have reviewed it to be.  It didn't deter me from falling asleep, but I did also drink 2 bottles of wine during dinner....that could have been it too!

Speaking of dinner, the lodge's restaurant, The Duck Club was muy delicioso.  We had a really tasty meal there and the service was excellent.

It was a fantastic deal, I will definitely return again!

Booked an internet deal for a reasonable price, especially for Bodega Bay and came up for a weekend getaway.  Room at the Lodge was great - good size for 4 of us (2 teenage kids), small fridge, flat screen TV and fireplace.  Comfy beds, good size and clean bathroom.

There was enough room for a couple of sitting chairs to we could relax in the room.  Nice view of the ocean and fog.  We burned a fireplace log both nights - really relaxing havinf a burning fire, foghorns in the background and enough space for each of us.  Would definitely recommend and go back.

i'd have to give the hot stone massage i got 3 stars and the dining at the duck club 3 stars. the massage was just ok. nothing to shout for joy over. i know my wife didn't enjoy her massage. for what they are charging they really do need to step up their game. the service at the duck club was slllllllllooooowwwww. got in at about 7pm and didn't leave till about 9:40pm. the place wasn't even packed. i guess they need to hire an additional host and more cooks in the back. the food was just ok for fine dining. salty if you ask me.

I don't think it was the Bodega Bay Lodge & Spa's fault but the fog horn is very annoying.  I couldn't get a decent hour of sleep.  I didn't actually count, but it felt like the fog horn blows about every 5 seconds.

The Lodge itself was excellent and the beds were super comfortable. Service was excellent because our sliding door to the balcony fell off and they called someone right away to fix it.  We took advantage of the balcony during the day and the fireplace was a nice romantic touch at night. They had a 5:00-6:00 welcome with wine (local Sonoma winery), cheese and crackers. They also offered us a dinner special if we ate at the Duck restaurant.

The hotel was great but the fog horn just didn't make  the trip a great experience.

there were an awful lot of lexxus'ssss & porsche'ssss & beamer'sss & even a lamborghini parked in the lot so if this is your crowd-read on:

what it's NOT:
1. one of those renovated beach homes which is actually a yurt
2. bright and sunny
3. dominating shower pressurization
4. a spa
5. cheap
6. the loudest place for the foghorm

what it IS:
a. a renovated lodge with a small heated pool, jacuzzi  & massage area (see spa NOT) that has wine & cheese tasting in the lobby of the registration building
b. foggy all day, all night
c. excellent massage (but a spa-see NOT)
d. flat panel tv in room, comfy king bed, totally remodeled & is adjacent to The Duck Club restaurant that has bad fish but good duck
e. i miss my girlfriend & this quiet time by the beach to heal is killing me

The hotel is in the process of renovating the rooms.  We luckily got a fireplace room with a balcony overlooking the ocean and marsh that had been recently redone for a great deal of $175, as we walked in on a Sunday night.

There are a lot of bad, shabby, overpriced inns and hotels between Bodega Bay and Mendocino, so I was pleased to find one that had a lot of class.  The decor was a bit old-fashioned (prints of ducks!) but tasteful, the bed had two down comforters and pillows, and the mattress was pillow-top.  One of the finest beds I've ever slept in.  What really set this hotel apart was the amenities.  Everything we wanted or needed was provided - from the generously stocked minibar, complete with bottle opener and corkscrew, to the ashtray provided on our private balcony, to the terry cloth robes.  None of this is big on its own, but it was so refreshing to check in on a whim and not have to leave the hotel for anything!  The swimming pool was perfectly heated and it was very nice to enjoy a swim at night.

I also don't get the complaints about the fog horn - maybe it's because I grew up going to Bodega Bay and my boyfriend used to be on a ship, but we found it soothing. We even left the door open so we could hear it better as we drifted off to sleep.

Be sure and enjoy a meal at The Duck's Club restuarant - I was really surprised by how good it was for a hotel restuarant.

Assuming we can get the same rate, I know we'll be coming back here  in the future.  It was a fantastic night.

I kept feeling that BAH - here we go again! - another overpriced allegedly upscale joint trying desperately to live up to the dreck that they spew about how fancy-schmancy this whole experience was supposed to be...heck, this is basically a remodeled and updated Best Western.  I was looking for cracks in the veneer, because they call themselves a SPA but they're really not, it's a big load o'bunk really, but honestly, this place kicked arse in almost every other way.  Everyone really went out of their way to make sure this whole weekend was stupid flawless.  And what I mean by that is, quite frankly, I kept waiting to hear about every nickel and dime they were going to charge me, all their inflexible policies and whatnot, blah blah blah, but that never happened.  I paid a lot of bread, thought I was probably getting ripped off, but in the end, felt as though it was worth every penny.  The Duck Club restaurant on the premesis is really quite butt-kickin' -perhaps I shall write a separate review, but the dinner exceeded expectations.  The wine list coulda been better in some regards, but the food could not have been - it was really good.  Bring yer wallet, but you'll dig it.

NOT a spa (as someone else here mentioned) - true dat!  They were booked up anyway, so I just hunted around for some local alternatives that were amazing.  Excellent jacuzzi overlooking the water/view of the beach, great proximity to the beach as well.

If ya' feel ok peelin' off some benjamins for a romantic weekend getaway , this would be a great choice for hotel accommodations at Bodega Bay.

Nice firm bed, and the heater worked in the room. They also had a nice lobby with a fireplace to hang out near. Can you tell that it was cold when I stayed there?

Everything was just right. The room (we got one with a fireplace and view of the harbor & bay) was great. Down pillows, soft bed, great view, lots of towels, bath robes, and all the other little things you'd expect from a well run spa. The staff was polite and helpful (we were able to check in early) and the swedish massages (one of the many spa treatments available) were great.

We felt that we got what we paid for and more. We would definitely go back there again.

Nice place, though don't order a salad from room service. The caesar salad consisted of 3-4 leaves (no joke) and the cookie plate was meh. I'd stay here again though, the location is wonderful.

Two words: fog horn. Or should I say frickin' annoying noise every 10 seconds. It wasn't really the sound of a regular fog horn (which is usually more appealing to the ears). It was a very annoying noise that closed windows and ear plugs couldn't prevent from penetrating into my fragile brain. It's not the Lodge's fault, but it ruins the experience. I don't know how the locals deal with it. Otherwise, I liked the place. Great staff, nice rooms. We got the place for a very special price, so I'm not sure if it's worth the full price. Oh, and the bay was sort of dried up so the view wasn't all that pretty.

Great site, call and ask for discounts, got a free upgrade and discount because I called in on a slow weekend. Beautiful rooms, great fireplaces with real wood...ok those plastic wrapped ones but not gas. DIsclaimer its not ON the water but you definitely see everything from where it is... I liked it a lot and the Duck CLub was a great restaurant. Great place to set up camp for an exploration of the Bodega Bay area...dont forget the Redwoods in the Russian River Valley! Newly Remodelled.

I was very pleased with my stay. Unlike so many hotels (ahem! Silverado in Napa), it actually looked like it appeared on the website.  I initially had a reservation at the Inn at the Tides and switched, thinking that the Inn looked a bit more dated (no idea if I'm wrong or not) and also that this was a smidge cheaper.  Our room has a very nice balcony with a table/chairs. We spent one afternoon lounging by the pool and it was basically empty the entire time -- listening to the sea lions barking, and the fog horn and the waves -- super relaxing.    One thing to consider is that it's not as centrally located as the Inn at the Tides,  which is good or bad depending on how you look at it.  Be sure to go all out and get a fireplace & balcony.  I also requested a room with a great view.

My partner and I visited the lodge last weekend. It is just a stones through from San Francisco but it's such a get away. This place is so high class. The food is an experience in it's self. Even though we just missed that great spell of great weather, Bodega Bay should be on your list of places to go. Thank you for making our stay so special.

The room was spacious and adequate, but has an outdated feel and has been used hard. It was clean, but for $200 a night I wanted special, and I certainly didn't get it. It does have a fireplace and you get two of those little duralogs a night to use, you cannot use wood. Also, the private balcony was nice, but our view of the bay was blocked by shrubs. If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs, as a buoy sounds all night.  Maybe it's a fog horn.  Whatever it is, its loud.  The sheets weren't high thread count, and the comforter was basic hotel room polyester. The bathroom was clean but old, with cracked grout and tiles. Robes are provided. We didn't go to the Duck Club, as there are great seafood restaurants 5 minutes away by car. We also didn't attend the complimentary wine tasting. We did not get spa treatments, but did use the sauna, hot tub, and pool, which open early in the am and stay open until 11pm, which was a nice way to end the evening. The pool and hot tub are very nice and well tended. The landscaping is wonderful. There is a work out room, but we walked on the beach and went to Armstrong Redwoods; who wants to go to a work out room when a beautiful walk is right outside the door? Overall, the place was mediocre. It also sucked that we were charged for a porn film that we didn't order.  I mean, if we watched it, we would pay for it, but we didn't!  They wouldn't take the charge off so we just paid the bill, not wanting to argue in the lobby about a porn film with a sullen teenage clerk.  We wont be going back.
