Rating = 3.5. Bobar's ambiance is typical of your average boba place... clean, bright & trendy. There are two LCD tvs that were on sports channels. Tables near the front can fit four people and in the back there are two tables that can fit six people each.
The yogurt slushy with mango jelly is the BEST EVER! Not too sweet, watery or thick. Tapioca Express' doesn't even compare to this one (it's way too sweet). My friends got the crepes, popcorn chicken, yam fries, rice dishes and said they were pretty good. This place will be worth the 15-20 min drive during my lunch break!
Let me just focus on the pearl tea drink. The pearls were not perfect, maybe a little hard in the middle, but for the most part a nice chewy consistency. I got the green bean milk tea with lots of lil bits of the real thing. Me likey. Guy at the counter had a strong accent, so forget about asking him questions, just tell him what you want.
Now that I read this place used to be Q-Cup, that makes sense. They must've not changed alot inside. My initial plan was to hang out and catch up on some reading, but after I got my drink I just wanted to bolt. There was no one in there on a weekday afternoon and it would feel just weird with me and one other person.
I was given a normal straw and thought maybe the balls were smaller? It was only after I got into my car that I realized, I can't get any balls! Let's just say my drive home was interesting.

I consider myself hard to impress, and I got to cut this place some slack. Whenever i get food, I'm usually satisfied. They do a good job with getting the food right, and served hot :)
However, today i guess was a bad day. There was only worker and he just couldn't handle it. He was making so many drinks and handling the register that, he even made more drinks for my friends and I that we almost took the extra drink. Poor guy.
I guess i blame this on poor management. The guy looked like he was a little frazzled by it all, and although he did get my meal right in the end, i guess overall looking back this place isn't excellent given the crowd. I am a little bothered by their lack of interesting music, with ESPN playing most of the time and loud rap music. How about a little jazz music or something less harsh? Typically the crowd that comes in becomes more like hoodlums because they feel at home, ha ha.
Kudos to cleanliness because every time i come here i never have complaints about dirt or anything of that nature.
Drinks leave more to be desired. I feel the menu is becoming more and more confusing and i wish there were more exotic drinks like a maacha or some more healthy non-sweetened fresh teas.
I remember when this was Qcup and it was kidna busy but now it seems like ppl go here just bc of location convenience. Which is why WE went since we were craving crepes near home. The girl (Chinese, long hair, HUGE problem with the world) was soo crappy and was pissed off when my sister asked for ice cream on the side so it wouldn't melt as we took it to go. She slams the ice cream door, throws down the scooper and shoves the bag at me. Needless to say I tell her her attitude isn't appreciated and she has the nerve to say "same to you" and "the ice cream is supposed to melt!". Um yeah there were TWO customers in the whole place at 10 pm on a Saturday night. Like she had something better to do than package my crepe and ice cream ON THE SIDE nicely =P.
Ooh forgot to review the crepe. So it tasted okay when we got home--decently sized crepe but filled with a tiny amount of fruit--1/2 a banana, 2 strawberries, 1/2 kiwi. At least she gave us a decent sized scoop of vanilla before I yelled at her even though it was icy =).

Good food, good atmosphere, okay service. Pretty much sums it up, their crapes are pretty good, but I've had better. I try places all over the bay area, and they do have a pretty good selection of boba. 3 stars!
I used to work at Bobar back in my high school days.. Gosh, I worked here for almost 3 years I think. Anyhow, I haven't gone there in about 2 years now, but I always remember that Bobar had much better Boba/Tea/Smoothie drinks than many other places such as Tapioca Express or Qcup. Also, Bobar has a lot of meal plates and lunch boxes that other Boba places don't. They have everything from fried rice to fried noodles, to pork buns. I remember the food being pretty good too. I would always eat at work or take some food home.
I don't know how it is now.. But maybe I'll have to go back and check it out sometime.

I love me my crepes, but I cannnnnnnn't stand the service here. If you're here literally a minute after they stop selling crepes (an hour before they close at night) then they will straight up refuse to make you one. Wha? Don't you want to make your $5 profit off of me for a little fruit wrapped in batter?
I'm not a big fan of Bobar (or Qcup or TapEx for that matter) for tea drinks - definitely hit up TenRen or Tea Station instead for more authentic, less sweetened/watered down tea.
Pretty cheap drinks and had a nice inside, i guess trying to copy the other big tapioca places... but whatever. Had a large menu of drink and and some outside chairs you could sit on. Came with a large group and ended up ordering a honey dew drink that was pretty good.

I just tried this place for the first time ever. That is, since this place changed names and perhaps owners. I remember when I used to live in the area and it was a Q Cup location.
Anyway, I had the black milk tea with pearls or boba. I have to say that the drink was as good as Tapioca Express and the other chains. I was also surprised to see that they have a very large menu, just like Tapioca Express and Q Cup. And the prices are very reasonable.
i found this place randomly when my friend missed the milpitas exit. it was around 10:30 am and the place was deserted. therefore i deemed it a good place to hang out and play on my laptop (they have free wifi).
i got a black milk tea and i wanted small tapioca pearls but they don't have any. their regular sized tapioca pearls weren't ready at the time either! the drink was sweeter than i like, but that might be because i added rainbow jelly since they didn't have pearls.
+1 star because one of the walls was decorated with drawings, including a diagram of a "pingwin" and other misspelled animals, to my amusement. there was also a giant white board! but the marker was uncapped and dried out :(
Mediocre crepes, the outside of it was a little tough. Interesting decor, they still have Xmas decorations up...time to take it down I'd say...it is almost April. Their popcorn chicken is not bad.
Boba milk tea was not so good says the boyfriend. He had the pork over rice and said it was disgusting. Won't be coming back anytime soon.

Very clean with pretty bright modern decor inside which is a rarity for a mom/pops.
Minus a star for a no CC/ATM acceptance policy but their menu is pretty extensive.
This is one of those pearl tea/ boba shops. This one isn't really much of a hangout as it's kinda hidden off in a small shopping center in the Warm Springs area of Fremont so it's not as busy as some of the bigger chains. I usually get "the works" which is a dessert crepe with everything. It's always made perfectly in a nice soft pillowy box shaped treat with strawberry sauce zig zagged across the top.
Get the yam fries with it but one word of advice. For some reason it does not taste good when it's been kept steaming and made soggy by the accumulated condensation inside the to go box. This has to be eaten there.
Extra star for being opened till 2am. Yes, 2am in Fremont.

I love this place for my usual Jasmine Milk tea with Grass Jelly drink. The thai tea is yummy too. Clean moderate prices. I have been back numerous times.

Went here the other night to shoot the breeze with some friends. While the drinks were nothing out of the ordinary for a boba place. Their crepes smelled delicious but we were too full from dinner to try one. They had wide screen LCDs playing ESPN and some music videos and it was clean and well lit.
What was great about this place was when we were perusing the menu and item number 201 caught our eye on the big plastic menu on the wall. It read "Hot Gross Jerry .... 2.95" Ok so I'm not sure that was the right price, but the sign really did say Hot Gross Jerry!!! Instead of hot grass jelly. Hilarious.
one summer i went on a boba tea binge and i had at least 2 cups a day. and when i found out how tapioca was made, and how much sugar went into a cup of milk tea...i haven't had much of a craving for these drinks. but besides boba tea, bobar has an extensive menu of food offerings ranging from rice plates, noodles, crepes, and such taiwanese snacks as popcorn chicken and fried fishballs. usually i'll pick up a savory crepe filled w/a creamy dressing/mayo, corn, and chicken, along with unsweetened green tea. its really a cute casual place for lunch.

I give their Phily Steak Fried Rice 5 stars. It's the one dish I keep coming back for more. As for the drink I stick with the Jasmine tea, no milk, no pearl.
Service is good, friendly owners and staff. There's always a place to sit, but then again, I haven't been there late, usually very early, before dinner or dinner time.
One time I called in for a big order and they took care of it promptly, no problem.
Pricing is very reasonable, along the same level as any tea places around.
