Sometimes when looking at my bank account and my splint ends simultaneously, my bank account comes close to winning.  I tell myself that after this next haircut I will go to Great Clips.  I tell myself that Pantene Pro-V is just as good as salon brands.  I tell myself that two haircuts a year is more than enough.

And then I go see Madelin at Bob Steele.

This girl is not a stylist, she is a patient hair magician.  My appointment was only for 45 minutes, but Madelin spent over an hour and a half sculpting my unkempt hair into a masterpiece.  Though her prices have recently gone up to $55 for a cut, she is well worth it (though I may have some trouble explaining that to my bank account).

I faithfully went to one stylist here for over a year.  I trusted her and thought she did a great job when she didn't have a lot to work with as my hair was growing out.  But after the last cut, when I actually had plenty of hair to work with and all I wanted was a trim, I walked out with UNEVEN hair.  I have straight, shoulder length hair so it really shows.  It is literally 1.5 inches uneven in the back.  How does this happen?  I have lost all faith in all stylists--Joseph and Friends maimed me, and now that I actually have hair again it's uneven because this lady was having a bad day and got sloppy.  I am starting to feel like I could do better with a trusted friend giving me a trim in the back yard...

This place was recommended to me through a friend so we both checked it out. It's always a good to come in and talk to the person who's going to do your hair before committing into doing it.

They use Aveda products, very similar to Van Michaels but not so much upscale. All the stylist had really cute cuts. The best thing about this place is their $5 per foil hilites, which is very reasonable and it only took me 8 foil.

Asian hair is the most difficult to work with when it comes to color. Our hair do not absorb the color we see on the palette. I was very skeptical, went for the blonde hilites but ended up getting cold feet in the end. So I went for a honey on soft black. She had to retouch my bangs because the honey was turning dark brown instead of a slight golden tint to it - almost blonde but not quite. It was finally the color I wanted after the retouch.

I'm good with the service, the girl was very sweet, maybe too sweet. her name is Madeline. I love my affordable hilites and am definitely coming back - ready to do the blonde on black!

This is an Aveda Salon that provides an upscale salon experience.  The salon was referred to me by the previous owner of the house I purchased and I have been going ever since, a total of 11 months now.  The service is top-notch, very professional, and the talent is out of this world.  I never fail to get multiple compliments about my hair!!

The salon has massaging chairs when you are at the hair washing stations, so the time is actually enjoyable when you are sitting there waiting on your color to process.

The salon is clean, bright, very friendly, and the girls there are very very beautiful.

Please let them know Candy Anderson sent ya as I will get a discount on my next appointment!!!

Sorry, this place doesn't do the Bob Steele name justice. The atmosphere is too casual for me...my hairdresser was unprofessional and did a horrible job. She actually was going to send me out of the place with clown orange hair. Yes, i have dark hair and its hard to highlite, but my neighbor has this same asian drak hair and hers came out quite nicely with this same hairdresser, so I thought she knew what she was doing. Oh no she didnt. I'm still growing out that brassy mess. You get what you pay for. I was trying to skimp on my normal hairdresser whose highlights cost close to $250, and these were only $50.  Then when I complained about the color, she seemed shocked and then some other girl had to sit there and try to tone my hair. She told me that they "always" had to do this process to my neighbor's hair, which made me wonder why didnt they just do it like that to start when I told her I had the same color hair as my neighbor and I did not want any type of orange color. Ugh. Micky Mouse operation.
