I love Boars Head meat and this sub place only uses the best. If your a picky deli meat person youll love this place. they even have fun names for there sandwiches based on local people.
its best as a place to pick up your sandwich, theres not alot of room to sit. -

Quick updates:
* The breakfast sandwiches are delish. The Morning Pick Me Up is one of my default breakfast sandwiches for those mornings when I actually have time to stop for food. Yay, veggies! A tiny bit greasy even on the outside, which makes it a little messy on the run. I keep meaning to ask if I can get the bread dry, but forgetting until I'm already out the door.
* They have cookies (maybe only sometimes, but sometimes is enough). Lovely, big, thick, gooey, chocolatey-chunky cookies. And beautiful fruit cups and sometimes muffins, too, but who cares? Cookies! ::drool::
* They have new tables and chairs, increasing seating capacity to about 20. I doubt my previous review had anything to do with it.
* The people who work there are really friendly. I know, it's not an update, I said the same thing last time, but it bears repeating, because they're that cool.Listed in: Cookies!

Review from Rich S.
Quincy, MA
Came here after checking out the other reviews on Yelp, and the 4 and 5 star ratings are well deserved!
I got a Redneck, which is BBQ chicken (sliced deli style), roasted red pepper and BBQ sauce. I had mine in a wheat wrap and damn, was this a good wrap! $6.50 seems a little steep for a sandwich, but considering the amount of meat in there, it's well worth it.
It has a convenient location on Hancock street near the 5-way intersection and if you can't find street parking then the garage behind Hancock St. isn't a far walk. -

Nice specialty sandwiches at pretty good prices.

This place is the worst place to eat. I was there today. It took they 3 employees 20 minutes plus to make me a chicken salad sandwich and i was the only customer in the store. The guy making it did not wear gloves, the chicken salad is full of chunks of fat and bones and I think the girl at the counter was high because of how slow and unexcited she was to be working. Bottom line is that this should be your last possible choice when eating in Quincy.

This place is awful. I mean, horrible. The bread is stale and definitely not baked in house, the meat has no flavor, their sandwiches are not innovative and I definitely wouldn't be surprised to find a used syringe in the middle of a sandwich. YUCK!

This place was a lot better before it was renovated. In the old days the owner was actually in the shop, and more importantly, the food was good too. Now, since around about the Spring time, I haven't seen him around at all during any of my visits here. The quality of the food has steadily declined, and today was no exception. When I went in there today, there were a handful of people chatting loudly. I didn't mind that much. But it made it difficult for the sandwich guy to hear my order, I think. I ordered a sandwich called the Frenchie, a sandwich that's supposed to contain chicken, cheese, tomato, lettuce, and honey mustard. When I got home, I discovered a sandwich with really bizarre looking chicken on it. It looked like what a wet sock looks like when it dries on a cold floor. There was lettuce (I HATE lettuce), tomato, and cheese. I brushed the lettuce off the sandwich, so I could consume it without my enemy being present. I took a bite and noticed there was no honey mustard on it at all. Instead, there was mayo. Mayo?! On a sandwich already this terrible, the mayo really, really didn't help. Considering it wasn't even supposed to be there, it was a nasty surprise. This isn't just my opinion. This was the definitive worst sandwich ever made. Really. I told myself right after I ordered, "If this sandwich sucks, then this is the last time I am coming here". Well, today marks the last time I will ever set foot in the Boar's Nest.

I'd like to give this place more stars...but they make it hard on me. For starters...every time I walk in the guy looks at me like he's upset he has a customer and actually has to do something. I try and be upbeat and joke around, but he either dislikes me for some reason I'm unaware of or he's just a miserable guy. Either way, it's not very inviting. They constantly run out of different things, the bread is mediocre at best, and they have a tendency to screw up your order. I have had some decent sandwiches from this place, but it's too inconsistent and the miserable guy working there makes me want to stay away...
