Pffft, the too-much liquid from the salsa just---blaah. I think she used one of those hemisphere scoops which picked up like 80% salsa juices and the rest the "salsa". Maybe next time I'll mention that--"Please drain most of the liquid--thank you." When I was done, there was like an 1/8" deep pond of mixed fluids.
I'm kind of steering away from everything else but my good old taco salads 'cuz they are refreshingly good and have chips.

They should have a category for Typical Employee Lunch Spot (TELS?) on here, 'cuz this is another… Read more »
I think it is funny that everyone bashes this place! I think it is pretty good honestly. Then again, I am not going in looking for real mexican food. BTW, if you want real mexican food, you are not going to find it in some restaurant on here. Look for a Taco Wagon if you wanna eat what mexicans really eat. This place is better than Taco Del Mar because their ingredients are fresher and I don't feel like I am having a surfboard shoved up my ass.
The ladies there are always nice to me, but then again I am looking for lunch to head back to the office...not a cloth napkin placed on my lap.
Sorry if no one else seems to like this place but thats ok because I am pretty sure the 3 downtown buildings in our area keep them so busy the line goes out the door. So bully on all you.
:)
OOOOPPPS!!!! I realized this is the wrong location I was yelping about. Walk down to 1000 2nd Ave
(between Madison St & Spring St)
The ladies are not nutters and the food is good!
*take no offense to my harsh words..I take my food "serious".
I got 2 big fish tacos and a water. it was a pretty simple lunch. good thing the aluminum wrap was not punctured or else there would have been white watery sauce all over the place. i have to admit, it was messy and hard to eat, but by the end of both tacos i was full and they had really good flavor. oh, i also got what i thought was the hottest salsa, but it wasn't that bad. i would have rated the salsa as more medium. overall, not bad. i did notice that they seem to cook stuff per order. and my buddy's pork burrito looked awesome. when i go back i will probably try one of those.
Ok, I know all of you have done this. You go somewhere, eat the food, and leave unimpressed and swear you will never eat there again. A few months later you go back thinking that maybe you will have a better experience, again swearing while you leave that you will never eat there again.
I just had that experience folks.
What is it with me finding the blandest food in the world? The chicken tacos here had no taste, the tortillas that they came in ripped on me, the medium salsa was nothing to write home about, and the beans were blah. Normally when I find bland food I give it a 3 star because it wasn't disgusting. But this place is getting the dreaded two star because of the $8 price tag, and the long line of liars in front of me.
An uninspired Zipzap Zubidy Bop!
Hey cool fact: They are open for breakfast burritos in the morning!
It was cheap and you get to pick from different sauces and ingredients. Nice for a grab and run if you find yourself hungry in the morning downtown. I don't know why more places don't have quick breakfast options. The coffee places seem to think people only need coffee and a bagel. But there are some days I want something different and more filling on the run.
Ordering Mexican in Seattle - what were you thinking?? That was the response I got when I tried to explain to a friend how bad this food was - Gross it just isn't really even edible.
Crap, overpriced Baja-style Mexican food. Save your money and just go to Taco Del Mar. You'll get your money's worth, and you won't be left wondering why you paid for a head of lettuce and two miniature shrimp stuffed in a stale tortilla.
I don't particularly care for Blue Water Taco Grill. I think they're a bit overpriced and quite bland. However, all of my experiences w/ staff have been quite pleasant, but I haven't gone back in a while and don't have any plans for the future either.
The whack-job behind the counter is as stable as a Liza Minnelli marriage. I don't knowingly allow people like that to touch my food. Surprisingly, Blue Water Grill on Union Square in New York City isn't half bad.
I didn't find this place all that tasty. I only got a vegi-burrito, but the rice was undercooked and there was cabbage in my burrito. Ewwww I hate cabbage, I didn't order a coleslaw burrito. Even though it was a vegi burrito, I think the staples need to be solid for any good Mexican or baja dish.
Little bit better than your average mexican place. Of course, this place really isn't mexican, it's BAJA (which really just means californian mexican with an emphasis on fish/shrimp dishes). I'm not a big fan of this genre of food, but I actually do like a couple of items on their menu, especially the shrimp dishes here are really nummy.
I think they must survive solely on the corporate employee crowds, and the tourists who see it as a less threatening food option in a town bereft of fast food. I don't object to an absence of fast food, now, but something quick and easy that's not hard to find might be nice - and Blue Water does that well. The Califexican flavors aren't my first choice, but on occasion it will work for a tasty lunch. Authentic? Um, no. But cheap and tasty? Absolutely.
