This is a local Motel that is pet friendly. They have a variety of rooms and a nice pool. One of the best parts is the unintended retro 70s style of the place. It is nice and clean. Some rooms have kitchenettes. The people are very friendly and the rates are affordable. They run specials and you can book on-line. They also have some old school duplexes for long term rental. It's pretty cool for a weekender of wine tasting, beach combing in Carmel and hiking at Garland Ranch. We have enjoyed some good time at this place with friends and family. It is not the Ritz Carlton but...it's not $500 a night either. Excellent value!

Located about 15 miles into Carmel Valley from Highway 1, the Blue Sky Lodge is near the valley airport and the village of Carmel Valley.
This far in, you usually have beautiful blue skies, whereas downtown Carmel could be socked in with fog. This is a small family run operation, with a variety of rooms, including patio rooms, 1 bedrooms or up to 2 bedroom suites that could sleep 6. These are not Las Vegas suites, OK? They are more like 1970's apartments, old with Danish modern or rustic furniture, but serviceable and clean. There is a relaxed atmosphere and decent privacy. There is a pool. You can eat in the village nearby.
If you liked the apartment your Mom and Dad raised you in your first couple of years 30 years ago, you will feel at home.
Compared to the often outrageous prices of motels in town, this place offers a good priced alternative with better weather.
