Blue River Canyon Day Spa & Store
3 reviews for Blue River Canyon Day Spa & Store
I've only been here once and it was as a birthday present to myself. I got the "A Taste Of The Canyon" Spa package for $250. It consisted of a hyrdro therapy body soak, Swedish massage, facial, manicure and pedicure. Overall I wasn't impressed.
The soak was extremely quick and I found the room to be very intimidating rather than relaxing. I felt so rushed that I kept worrying whether or not someone was going to walk in on me changing. They also didn't seem to have that great of an organization in scheduling my different activities. They kept taking me back to this centralized waiting room where I sat with magazines and "peaceful" music in my robe with several other women. It was so awkward.
Then, they had me to get my Mani and Pedi before my facial, therefore I needed to remain in my robe. I was so uncomfortable getting a pedi with no pants on. I wasn't a fan of the manicurist either. The facial wasn't so bad but the technician made me feel bad when she said, "Oh, so all you want me to do is work on these blackheads?" Umm, yeah?
The massage was the best part and I hate that I lost the girl's name. She was fantastic and the only reason I'd ever go back. I felt like I was a complete inconvenience on them except for that hour long massage session.
I still favor Essential Therapy over Blue River. Although, they have great massages, large tubs, great facials, but it's still not as high end as Essential Therapy. Their "serene" waiting room tends to be crowded and you have to look at the other clients in bright lights in your robes while waiting. Parking is also a problem most of the time.
This place is great! I treated myself to a spa day after my first semester of nursing school and it was amazing. They are so welcoming and professional. The entire experience was a relaxing escape. Ive also had my * waxed here and they did a great job. They use the blue wax, not strips.
