3 reviews for Blue Joe Coffee
The first of my official Portland coffee house excursions... gone are the days of dating San Diego baristas and knowing where to get my favorite chai latte.
But now my days will be filled with Oregon Chai, one of the best! I guess I can't be too sad.
What an under reviewed place. beautiful large open space, nice ladies working at the counter, good chai tea latte. Business men, ladies in work out outfits after their morning jogs through downtown... a knitting club. Cute!
They even let me borrow a pen. Winner. It is 2 blocks away from my friends house, even better. I just wish they were open past 5.
Oh and they are playing Jack Johnson right now... and I like Jack Johnson... so its okay with me unlike the person who reviewed ahead of me.
I like the sound of this place- and love those 5 star ratings. But when I looked it up on Google Maps, there was a note saying it was closed down (dated January 2009). And the website is down too.
They put a lot of care into crafting the environment at Blue Joe and while I wouldn't consider myself the typical guy to like "safari / tommy bamaha" style... It feels well put together and comfortable. The space is huge and is often quite. Great for anyone who wants to enjoy a cup of coffee or some great tea and do some thinking in a roomy and open coffee house. (Bring your ipod... the non stop buffet / old man rock might make you want to drown yourself in your coffee)
