We took the Eco-Star tour of Hana and the Haleakala crater.
Our pilot was very skilled and friendly. He knew local history, and was able to answer many of our questions all while safely piloting our family around the beautiful Island of Maui. Our pilot was nice enough to steer the helicopter around different points of interests so that each member of our group could take their own photos.
Fun trip, the memories we built in the sky were worth every penny.Listed in: Best of Maui

We took the Complete Island tour of Maui on their Eco-Star helicopter. It was a 65 minute tour and cost $335 each plus tax. We did this on our first full day in Maui.
It was us and two other couples. My wife and I were able to sit next to each other in the back. She was next to the window and I was next to her in the middle. This was the first time that either of us had been in a helicopter. Even though I was in the middle seat, I had a very good view out the windows.
As another reviewer said, it was a little unnerving when we went thru a pass in the West Maui Mountain, where the ride was bumpy. Other than that the ride was comfortable and it gave us a very good feel for the island. One of the the highlights was flying over the Road to Hana and seeing the waterfalls and the road itself.
Our pilot Glenda was very informative. I was disapointed that we did not go near the Iao Valley or closer to Haleakala, although I have a feeling it was because those areas were close to the airport and the airspace was restricted.
When we landed, we purchased a dvd of our ride. -

Booked with Blue Hawaiian after reading their Yelp reviews. Needless to say they lived up to their status! Couldn't have gone any better! It rained the previous day, so we experienced all the waterfalls in full effect. Helicopter was roomy and pilot was great!

I love Hawaii...I'm addicted to it there. I'm a lay in the sun and swim in the ocean type of person. It wasn't until I went on BH that I loved being in the air just as equally over this paradise. The staff is amazing and landing on certain parts of the island, cracking open a bottle of pineapple champagne, and just taking in the beauty was awesome. All in all, they made my experience well worth the trip....even beating up my whale watching tour and snorkeling (which was pretty damn cool) ;-)
You gotta do this! -

Five stars for the pilot, however the weather was imperfect so they detoured us from Hana and Haleakala to Molokai and the west of Maui...not all that impressive and less than expected. They should have called me prior to the excursion and I'd have avoided wasting half a day

Do the "Complete Island tour", that's all I have to say.
Hubby booked this helicopter ride as a surprise for me. I cussed his white butt out after I found out about it. I don't ride roller coasters or get on any of those high drop rides for a reason (I only get on kiddie rides and not in the front seats either). Not to mention, he requested the front seats when he booked the flight. What was he thinking?!!! (They seat you according to your weight BTW). Amazingly, it wasn't as scary as I thought it'd be. Strangely, I seem to have developed motion sickness as I've aged. Although, I didn't get sick on this ride so if you're the type that usually does, don't worry, just go for it.
A nice easy ride way up in the sky...we got to see the whole island...all those pretty places that they talk about in those books...truly a bird's eye view...what an experience...
So, if you don't have time to ride around one-lane winding roads, (which make me sick) and hiking up trails just to see all the waterfalls, beaches, crater, etc., (which my old assss smoker butt can't handle that well) just get on this Blue bird. You won't regret the money you spent on it.
Have fun. -

A great, though very short tour (that may just be because I wanted more time though). The weather could have cooperated a little better over Haleakala, but what are the odds of that?
Our pilot Emery was nice, entertaining, from the Bay Area (where I'm from) and had plenty to chat about without being TOO chatty. His music was perfectly timed, and he managed to show us a "very rare" complete double rainbow.
A fantastic experience; I finally got to ride in a helicopter!!!!!! -

Staff very attentive. Ground crew very professional. Pilot very knowledgeable. The Eco-Star chopper is quite up-to-date and comfy. We did the West Maui & Molokai, as we figured that we could easily see Haleakala and Hana by car, but not so much for the other two. Definitely worth it!

I agree with the other reviewers here. Our guide/pilot was also very knowledgable and the views were spectacular. It was very cool to see the road to Hana with out actually having to drive it (which I did on a prior trip before)
our tour was a 45 minute Hana -Haleakala tour. This was my fourth Helicopter tour (previous ones were in the blue mountains of Australia, Las Vegas-Grand Canyon and Whistler in Canada). Given the cost per person of this type of activity is generally close to $200/head, I would rate this #2 of my helicopter experiences. Sorry guys, Grand Canyon gets the prize on this one since most of the outfits there not only fly over the Canyon, but also land within it beside the Colorado River) You just can't beat that. -

We did the 1 hour complete island tour. David was our pilot and did a very good job of showing us the island. It had been raining on the "wet" side of the island. We got some tremendous views of some water falls that only flow when it rains. The flight was worth the money if only to see these which are only accessible by air or a very long hike . Maui is a beautiful island and this trip showed it all off.

We did the Moliki and W Maui trip. It was awesome. It was recommended by the Maui Revealed guy who was a helicopter pilot. Also, we had 3 locals on our flight who said they've done it a couple times and it is their favorite. This was a great flight. We saw beautiful waterfalls and were able to hover around there. Also, we were able to fly into some valleys which was so cool. We were also able to see a reef from above and manta rays swimming in there.
These rides are expensive, but totally worth it. -

My 2 kids and I took the 45 minute Maui tour of Hana/Haleakala and it was spectacular. Our pilot/guide Mike was very knowledgeable and well versed in the island background and history. We also purchased a DVD or our excursion to enjoy at home.

Helicopter did not crash, therefore I give it 5 stars. All kidding asides, how can one NOT enjoy an aerial view of the maui island?? After many agonizing hours of research, I decided to splurge a bit and do the entire Maui island tour, the Maui Spectacular. The helicopter was comfortable, the pilot knowledgable, and we made a pit stop on top Ulupalakua Ranch (on the slopes of Haleakala) for a lil bubbly. They weigh everyone prior to flight to ensure even weight distribution, but the couples sat next to each other. It was a gorgeous, sunny day which I was THANKFUL for. How much would it suck if it was cloudy and overcase? You can buy a DVD of the flight for $20. We didn't know that they film inside of the cockpit from time to time, so WAVE, make faces, or something if you happen to sit in the back. Makes the video more fun (if you decide to purchase it). Too bad they couldn't throw that in there since we spent around $700 for the trou. But the 1 1/2 hour tour was well worth it!
