There's a lot of good sushi in the neighborhood, but this is the spot that we keep going back to thanks to the great fish and the great staff.
Some of our favorites on the menu:
Spicy crunchy maki roll: huge roll fried tempura style with a little hit of spice in the sauce that is drizzled around the plate. The sauce is key, so make sure you get some on your roll before you eat it.
Volcano salad: tasty salad with big hunks of spicy raw tuna and avocado. We order it without the quail egg because, well, I don't like raw egg yolk in my salad. Mix it all up before eating so that you get the dressing well distributed throughout the salad. This is a good healthy counterbalance to the deep fried goodness described above.
Volcano roll: baked salmon roll with spicy sauce. Delish.
***Also, a few notes about the adjacent bar/lounge:
The sports bar that shares the same kitchen and bathrooms as the sushi restaurant was recently revamped into a lounge. Although the old school Niner jerseys that used to adorn the walls are long gone, thankfully they still show all the games on Sunday on their new flat screens. Its far from a rowdy sports bar scene like you get at places like Underdogs, but the BBQ pizza, the full bar and the new couch-style chairs make spending 3 hours here on Sundays during football season quite comfy. And we like comfy when we wake up early on a Sunday to watch a game.
I hate phonies. Which is why I hate USC football...and everything else that comes out of that campus. I hate liars. Which is why I revile Chris Daly. (How is Fairfield living?) I hate Blue Fin. Why? THEY FRIGGIN" LIED!!!!
The food here may be fantastic, but I would not know. About a week ago, a garish blue menu was hanging on the door to my building. It was from Blue Fin. They were advertising the fact that they DELIVERED. Well, last night I decided to call. I got home a little late, and my fiance was not feeling well, so I decided to forego cooking and order in. I did not want anything heavy, so the flyer from Blue Fin was calling to me. Sushi would be nutrious, but not too filling. So I called.
A woman answered the phone. I immediately said I was calling for delivery. She asked me for my address, and then said she had to check if they still delivered there. She then came back and said they changed their delivery area. WHAT? WHAT THE HELL??? I asked her why they left delivery menus? Ms. Einstein on the other end had no clue. (It was not really her fault, but she was messenger, and I was pissed.) I asked for the manager. Manager was not there. Why does this not surprise. She asked me if I wanted him to call. I said "No! You have already lost my business by being dishonest."
I will never patronize this place. Who knows if they will pull the same bait and switch crap with actual food.

Sexy.. Thatz how I describe the lounge part of the place. Great original art and great lighting (imma a sucker for ambiance!)
It was great hanging out with the interior designer of the place and being showered wid sushi not on the menu... Amazing stuffs..
Service was great and was definitely a great experience overall.. The sushi was fresh and tasty, and with the right t folks (and alcohol) haha., this place has a dope vibe..
Check out the private VIP room in the back.. Amazing possibilities for the Outer Richmond.. Definite gem..

Thunderstorms in San Francisco in September, what is that all about?
Even though I just went grocery shopping, there is something about a rainy evening that just makes me want to order delivery. While perusing the Blue Fin menu online, I noticed the online ordering feature. Fast, convenient, low margin of error, and minimal human interaction...I'm sold.
Based on reviews, I was a little nervous about Blue Fin. The fish quality seems to be really hit or miss. This must have been an "on" night, because it was delicious. My feast for one included:
*Wakame Salad: standard seaweed salad. No complaints here, I love seaweed salad.
*Fried Crab Rangoon: It was cold and rainy, I needed something fried and comforting. Crab and cream cheese in a fried wonton was the perfect comfort food.
*Romeo and Juliet Roll: salmon and avocado wrapped in soybean paper, topped with scallop and tobiko. This roll was my dream with my two faves -- salmon and scallops, and just a hint of spice.
*Volcano Roll: baked salmon with spicy cream sauce, snow crab, avocado, and tobiko. I love baked rolls as an alternative to tempura. And again, I went with salmon. When taking a risk on a new sushi place, I figured at least go with what I know I like.
I definitely ordered enough food for two people and yet forced myself to eat it all anyway. It was deliciously worth the too full sick feeling I had afterward. They dropped off a menu with my order, complete with pictures of every roll. They apparently have Japanese pizzas as well, but I didn't even make it that far on the online menu when ordering. I might be willing to give one of those a try in the future.
Blue Fin, we shall meet again on another rainy day.

I came here because there were some lovely, lying photos of beautiful uni. LIES. They are all lies.
I ordered the sashimi salad. Not bad. Came with some pickled turnip and an artistic "smear" of wasabi. The vinegarette was nice.
One order of Uni: the smallest, saddest, pathetic-looking order of uni I've ever seen. It looked like it was so ashamed to be served that it wanted to crawl inside the shriveling nori and die. Definately NOT worth the $5.95.
$1 hand rolls! I would have paid exactly one dollar for what I was served.
The other tables ordered so many jive-ass rolls that their experience made up for our lack of an experience. There was even one roll that was served in a soup bowl, and drizzled with a million sauce squirts. I will come here again after I lose my sense of taste.

I have never actually visited this restaurant....I recently had it delivered through http://GrubHub.com, so this pertains just to the delivery and the sushi itself. You'll have to read another review if you want to know about the Happy Hour and the vibe of the venue.
Although I pride myself in not overspending on takeout during the week for health and financial reasons, there comes the time in every law student's career that he/she is so tired of reading and hunger overwhelms to the point of giving in to the evil cycle of San Francisco takeout. On Tuesday night, after a long stint in the library, I found myself in this category and absolutely craving some good sushi. I have NEVER ordered sushi and had it delivered, but being that I didn't feel like moving, I figured I could find a place that would deliver some sushi. It is SF after all. Being that I am relatively new to the area, I relied on some yelp and some other online reviews which led me to this place.
I placed the order on GrubHub.Com and I immediately received an e-mail confirming the delivery time. The delivery ended up arrived about 35 minutes late, which I wasn't too pleased with. But this place is not a skip, hop, or a jump from my house, so how mad can I be? Also, due to the nature of raw fish I was a little concerned what the uncooked sushi concoction could do to my colon after 35+ minutes without refrigeration.
All of the sushi I ordered was very well prepared in terms of presentation and the taste was great. I would highly recommend the Romeo and Juliet roll which consists of salmon and avocado wrapped in soybean paper and topped with fresh scallops. If you like a little kick in your sushi, but not over the top alarm spice, this is a great specialty roll. The spicy tuna and Rock and Roll - Roll were both delicious. I also ordered the sunomono which is a cucumber salad with a side of light vineager dressing. Although I usually gobble up salads at sushi spots, this one was a little sogged out as if they had cut the cucumber the day before. I am a pretty heavy eater, and these 4 items were more than enough for two meals for myself, but I always like to try out a bunch of different rolls. It was a little on the pricey side, but for the quality and the convenience of having it delivered ($20 delivery minimum and no delivery fee FYI!) it was worth it at that point in my day. Don't skimp when it comes to sushi and generally you will find you mind, body, and bathroom will be better off for it. I would definitely try it out if you have some time to wait for the delivery and you have a few extra dollars to kick down on some great sushi. I am sure I will order from here again.

Standing outside of the front door to Blue Fin Sushi you get a pretty nice view of SF. It looks really nice at night too! The place is small but the decor gives a great tranquil feeling with a giant fish tank! I think I spent more time looking at the fish tank than the menu.
This is the first sushi place I've been to while exploring SF. The sushi was really nicely plated unlike the places I use to eat at before I moved.
The sushi was fresh, hand picked every day according to the sushi chef behind the counter. They really go all out on adding extra flare to eat dish too. For example, they deep fried the whole bone section of the salmon and placed it with our salmon sashimi. It was super crispy and flavored with a little spice.
The Price of it being in San Francisco does reflect some tension in your wallet but if you're going to bring a date somewhere, you better not worry about it!

Can't give much opinion on the food since I've only had the edamame all this time but I've seen wha other patrons order and it seems pretty decent! I like this place for the loungey relaxed feel of the place! It's great for hanging out and chilling or watching sports games and their panel of TVs
Had dinner with friends here. We shared:
Volcano Roll
Rainbow Roll
Seeking Roll
Iceland Roll
Cherry blossom Roll
All were fresh and fantastically good!!!
It was not crowded at all, but we were wondering why they did not have tuna and uni at 7pm on a Monday evening. The good thing was that we were informed "they were on the way" and ended up with all the items we ordered. And they offered the option of substituting of alternate ingredients if we agreed.
I live nearby so although it's unappealing from the outside the food inside is AWESOME!!!!
Actually, I never would have ventured to go inside but we kept getting a delivery menu at my complex so since I love sushi and the pictures we so appetizing I thought I'd try it out. I haven't regretted it ever since. It even drew us in enough to actually go to the restaurant although most times I opt to order in.
I've tried almost all of their "special Sushi" rolls and so far they are all awesome.
This really truly is a neighborhood gem.
Its OK quality, but for me non-Japanase style sushi automatically gets minus 1 star to start. Kinda expensive. For the masses, it will work.
I used to come here often with one of my best friends, who also used to be my neighbor. It was a fun, short walk for the cold, quiet Clement St. And the fun continued inside while warming up with hot sake. We liked sitting at the bar where the sushi chefs were generous with their sake ;)
Our staples: Cherry Blossom, Romeo & Juliet, Ice-land, Volcano Rolls, and Hamachi Sashimi, Albacore Tataki. All were good, fresh and nicely presented. Usually. Off nights seem pretty standard around here, though it never bothered me enough to speak up or stay away.
More recently, they've hired a new server who's kinda sweet, kinda not, but you know she's trying. She recommended we try the Japanese pizza, and being the risk-taking diners that we are, took her up on her dare and ordered one with unagi, teriyaki sauce and veggies. Not bad, I guess. It'll do for someone who wants pizza at a sushi restaurant. Not I.
Do try the miso glazed Sea Bass. I'm all over that.

Sashimi cuts were thick and exceptionally fresh. Sushi is excellent, maybe the best in the bay area (that I have tasted). Presentation is fantastic. I honestly don't know what the people who rated this place 3 and lower are talking about. I'm really picky about sushi (especially the raw stuff). This place is outsanding.
They have interesting rolls, as well as you're standard spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, ect. Their sashimi is pretty good, fresh and reasonable. We ordered delivery, which took about 15-20 from when we placed our order on the phone. We may try the online ordering next time, since we did end up getting 2 orders of the same roll when we ordered by phone. That way there is pretty minimal margin for error. Oh! They have fresh wasabi - look under their sides - this is SOOOO much better then wasabi paste.
We saw the review on local SFO TV and decided to give it a try. Definitely, were impressed by the exotic names of sushi roll and the food arrangements. Ambiance were nice, and music was eclectic. The service was good but could be improved. Definitely a family place, we saw many kid there.
Make sure you check out the 1$ specials every day. That is a good deal, if you sent more than $10 per person.
The UNI were fresh from Monterey, Tuna and salmon were fresh and tender as it can be. Strongly recommended.
The Chef tends to be heavy on the Rice portion, so lots of starch per serving.
This is a good family style dining place....
I just got delivery from them last night and was totally disappointed. Every cut of fish was just... bad. Everything seemed really cold and gummy. Blah. I hope this was just a fluke.

This place is pretty yummy but not to the 5 stars yummy. Best of all, I love the service. They have absolutely wonderful servers that are really attentive. These servers actually work together to check on all the tables. Thank god it's not one of those places where if I asked for tea, then someone delivers that message to my server for the tea. Nope, not this place!
If you're looking for a place that doesn't have shady servers, because servers do make a difference in enjoying your meal, then here's the place for you!
The volcano roll rocked my world with its baked salmon w/ spicy cream sauce, snow crab, avocado, and tobiko on top. It must be completely fattening but the flavor combination was amazing. The Nigiri was really fresh and had a good amount of rice that was perfect. Glad I got that side of nice sweet sushi rice...
I was stoked to find a good new sushi place that delivers but their delivery dude was pretty clueless and could not communicate well. I could swear he called me from his car to come get it, but I said come to the door so I can buzz you up. I think I told him I was not dressed to come downstairs, he probably thought I was naked, but I just did not want to put my shoes on or have to go greet my raw fish at the curb. Next time I hope I have better service because there definitely will be a next time with this place.

Ever had a place you wanted to review on yelp but worried that if you did say what you REALLY thought about it, EVERYONE and her mother would start going there and you'd have to start waiting for a table?
Yeah. that's Bluefin. The specials are amazing. And they always have sports on the flatscreen. And everything from the Romeo and Juliet Roll to the Seaking to the Spicy Girl are flat out incredible.
I'll still go to Ebisu for the fresh Uni and the Oysters, but for everyday, mid-week, post-Bikram sushi, it's Bluefin or nothing.
My first time going to Blue Fin, I drive by a lot. Decided to try Blue Fin with some friends. Seating wasn't too long of a wait for dinner. The place is nice and clean. My friends kids loved the huge fish tank, with Nemo's. They have tons of staff on hand and they try to make sure we were taken care of even. Everything was great but the menu is quite expensive. I have had better Sushi better and for this price I would have expected more. The live Uni brought to are table was live and was still moving on our table. It was worth a try and thanks for the great service Blue Fin, but I think the it is too pricey. The Rolls were good size, but the rice was too slushy and didn't taste that great. Overall I was really disappointed of the quality of the sushi and what they charge.
Meh.
It's alright.
I ordered delivery for Wednesday night viewing of Lost. It took about an hour to get there so I was relieved we ordered an hour before the show or we would've been SOL.
I agree with fellow yelpers who have ordered delivery from here that they should separate the hot stuff from the cold/raw stuff to preserve some sort of semblance of freshness when it arrives.
The rolls were pretty big but it could be because of the amount of rice in them. It was a rather rice heavy meal and I was stuffed early on and could not finish it.
The agedashi tofu was good and I'd order it again, maybe with another hot item so as to avoid the warm raw fish/lukewarm hot dish debacle.
Maybe if we dined in the place it would have been better, but I'll probably just keep sushi delivery limited to Zaoh as it's been the only Japanese delivery that has not let me down.

Just came back from dinner with my bf. Both came back with a terrible stomachache after 10 mins of leaving this restaurant. We had to wrestle for the bathroom. GO FIGURE!
One extra star for the new waiter because he was really nice and attentive.
Maybe it was the Tuna and Hamachi nigiri that I shouldn't have eaten because even VISIBLY, it did not look fresh... or maybe the oysters? Blue Fin sushi should be BAD FIN SUSHI. * shakes her head*

When I'm craving for phenomenal Japanese food, I come to Blue Fin. I've been coming here for over a year. I'm always greeted by the friendly and well informed staff. I have brought my foody friends from NYC, LA, Vancouver, Seattle, Japan and Hong Kong. They're always amazed by the quality and selection Blue Fin has to offer.
Let start with their large selection of Sake and Mixed drinks. They have a variety of Junmai, nigori, Dai Ginjyo and honjozo . I prefer the simple bottle of Junmai called Hatsuhana Utatane. My friends enjoy the Lychee and Mango Martini's.
Now comes the food; Live UNi(Sea Urchin) brought to our table with its spines still moving and Urchin glissading on a bed of Shiso leaf ; 4 orders of lightly seared Waygu(Kobe Beef) nigiri topped with a light splash of ponzu sauce and thinly sliced scallions. The Smokey aroma from the seared Waygu makes all our mouths water; Karage(fried chicken) with a squeeze of lemon makes this a signature dish.
There's more; Orange clam with fried green apples; Foie gras nigiri wrapped in shiso leaf...so heavenly; Grilled mini Conch served with garlic and butter...so Yummy; Spicy crunch Maki; Hawaiian Roll, Miso Black Cod, assorted Sushi's, etc etc etc....the list goes on.
I have no relations or shares in this great restaurant. I just have a love for food and Blue Fin has it all.
I can't wait till my next visit.
PS: What's great is that there's free parking on 19th Ave next to the closed movie theater.
Enjoy
I've had a great stretch of great food lately. OK, I just jinxed it.
But Blue Fin is up there with Shimo for favorite sushi place (and there are many) in the Richmond. It has everything you'd expect a good sushi place to have: fresh fish, manageable, well-crafted rolls and a good view of the sushi chefs. Blue fin tuna (you kind of have to get it, right?) is expensive as always, but is so soft and buttery, you'll be glad you ordered it. I often get boring standbys like rainbow rolls, caterpillar rolls, sake nigiri and a cooked roll here and there to mix things up, but our group of four liked everything that came to the table.
The decor definitely made for an interesting conversation topic; my roommate described it as "euro disco," and it's actually accurate. Salt-water fish tank and blue mood lighting abounds, and I'd add that it feels a hair like old-time Vegas as well with that wacky casino-style carpeting.
I don't often find good dessert options at a sushi resto, but the green tea ice cream was killer, as was the fried banana and ice cream.
Fun fact: It's connected to a sports bar next door, so you can (I hear?) eat your sushi in there if you prefer that to euro disco.
FREE DELIVERY! (Or so the giant neon sign outside says).
The RichNOMd never lets me down.

Came here tonight for dinner with a few friends. Stan m, the guy that is sitting the furthest to my left on my profile pic, lost a bet to me. Wanted to try Warakubune Sushi because Gen Y and Philip W said this is probably one of the better sushi boat restaurants in the city. Unfortunately, after driving all the way to Church st we found out that they were closed tonight.
So, we drove around looking for either a shabu shabu place or a Japanese restaurant. We came to the intersection of Clement and 20th and we noticed that we had options. There was Minami, this hot pot restaurant and then Blue Fin sushi. Minami was crowded, the hot pot place looked dead, and Blue fin Sushi was just right. Not too crowded but wasn't too dead.
Yes.........the prices here are a little higher and the portions are a little smaller. Never had a roll that cost 14 dollars and some change. The rice was just a little too mushy for my taste but overall it wasn't too bad. We had white tuna sashimi which was good, the fried chicken which was very flavorful, california roll.......I know why do I always order this, I just like it, Toro which was very fresh, this raw oyster with uni and quail egg.....i didn't have any but my friends said that the ponzu overpowered the uni, and the seafood roll which was an unagi roll with uni on top of it. This dish was actually very decent. We wanted to try the live uni but they didn't have any tonight.
Service was decent and the food came out nicely. The table next to ours order the unagi fried rice and a bowl of ramen noodles. It looked very good. They have even expanded their menu to include Japanese pizza.

Forward Note: This is a review on the bar portion, the right hand side of blue fin sushi.
This bar is kind of divey, but cleaner than most, and with better food. There is only one bartender, who does his job, but not with the charm that they usually try and sell (kind of refreshing). Tvs all around with various sports programs playing--minus one star for that.
People at the bar are almost always older men who have some sort of relationship with the bar man, a regulars joint.
I gave it a high score because it was a family friendly place despite the atmosphere (i saw multiple people there with children). either the kids are starting early or the resturant has managed to not attract scumbags.

Eh, it's alright.
Actual food quality really merits only 2 stars, but I will give it an extra star due to the modern decor and extensive menu (although I think the menu tries to compensate for the lackluster sushi).
Sushi in the Outer Richmond is almost as ubiquitous as taquerias in the Mission. Almost.
That said, distinguishing between them is a similar endeavor -- you start looking for slight variations, on the food, the service, the atmosphere. The ones that stand out win the day, while those that blend in and offer standard fare fall off the radar like so much aluminum-foil wrapping on a burrito.
But enough analogies.
Blue Fin is solid. Our server was quirky, and simple things like glasses of water took forever. But she was nice enough, and not bad enough to warrant too much demerit.
The food was flavorful, fresh, and creative, all you can ask for in a sushi place. We had blue fin tuna nigiri and sake nigiri. The sake was fresh and delicious, but the blue fin was to die for. It was perfectly fatty and salty and savory and so so fresh and good. I wanted more, but I have to contain my inner glutton when eating sushi.
We had four rolls between four people: Caterpillar (eel and cucumber, topped w/avocado); Rainbow (standard, with various fish and snow crab); Spicy Crunchy Maki (hamachi, sake, tai, shrimp and onion, lightly deep fried); and Volcano (baked salmon w/spicy cream sauce, snow crab, avocado and tobiko). All were excellent, but I have to say, Volcano and Spicy Crunchy Maki stole the show.
Even the desserts (green tea ice cream and fried bananas with ice cream) are outstanding here.
Decor left me slightly nauseated, but that's okay. I was with good company and didn't look around too much.
Best part of it all was the affordability. All that I've mentioned (and blue fin tuna nigiri was $14) came out to around $25 per person, including tip.

I've been here many times several of those times for sushi, but I've never eaten in the dining room. Attached to this restaraunt is a little sports bar with a dozen or so TVs and a good bar. I usually sit at one of the small tables there and order some sushi along with a drink. No line. Informal.
Their specialty rolls are great and sometimes I crave them. There regular rolls and nigiri are good. They also have good burgers and other foodstuffs if you don't eat sushi, but the real joy I get there is on Sunday mornings.
Sunday mornings the bar is open early for all those who like to watch sports and for those wishing to nurse their hangovers. The bartender whips up this concoction called a "ramos fizz" which is a light citrusy gin fizz that will knock out any hangover faster than you can say "bloody mary". Their breakfasts are okay but their early lunch menu selections are actually pretty good. The only down side is they don't serve sushi until the sushi bar opens in the evening.
I've spent many a sunday morning or afternoon here. It's the only place in the city I've found that makes these concoctions and there is something about the atmosphere I really dig.
I'm definitely a fan of this place so it gets four stars.

I've been dying to come to this place since like forever especially since i live in the area. the ambiance is very modern and chilled. they have a beautiful salt water tank when you walk in. I had the romeo and juliet roll and uni. i felt incomplete after that and it didn't make me want more. definitely disappointed and didn't know what's all the hype about. the prices are definitely pricey.
This place is pretty empty at 7PM, maybe 3 other groups besides ours. I assume this place isn't happening until after 9PM.
6 different rolls & an appetizer.
There were 4 of us, so we each picked whatever rolls we wanted, and picked a couple more that we all wanted.
We ordered Albacore Tataki as our appetizer. Since it's tuna, it tasted a lot like tuna, and it melted in my mouth. I never understand what people meant by raw fish melting in your mouth, but now I do.
On to the rolls...we had...a payroll, volcano roll, iceland roll, dragon roll, raider roll & a philly roll. My favs were the raider roll and volcano, even
thought everything sort of tasted similar. I could taste Sriracha sauce in the spicy rolls.
My friend also had a strawberry mojito, she said it tasted like they added soju to it.
The guys making the sushi were speaking Canto...so I guess it's not really authentic...
Everything was about $100 incl tax & tip. Everything was good, but I can find cheaper sushi elsewhere.
My boyfriend loves this restaurant. Sometimes we come here with friends, and we'll have a whole bunch of stuff on our table.
They have really friendly staff, ok-priced menu (not too expensive, but not on the cheap side either), but great food!
Our favorite is their chicken karaage, and a range of different kinds of sushi and sashimi. My boyfriend loves their chicken udon, and I've also tried their teriyaki beef and the salmon... Both good! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My new discovery: Sun Kiss. Try it... you will LOVE it! Then there's the Asian-style duck breast... I almost don't wanna tell people about the duck because they might run out and I can't have any more.... I want it all for ME.
The servers are really friendly. We usually go there on a night where they're not busy, so they always chat with us. More often than not, we end the night at the bar next door. Pauline, the bartender, is a hoot! She's a bit on the wierd side, but in a good way.
We went there this past Valentine's Day, and as expected, it was SUPER BUSY! We didn't have reservations (also expected, since my boyfriend's the 'on the fly' type), and their small restaurant was jam packed, yet they found us a table in less than 5 minutes! How great is that? Then, we didn't wait long for the food, and they pretty much all came out at the same time, so our small table was filled with all kinds of plates. At the end of the night, I noticed that they gave each girl/lady/woman a rose when giving the bill. That was sweet of them...
It might be called Blue Fin Sushi, but it's so much more than just sushi....

Pretty good.
Great service. They had $1 soju drinks on the night I went... perfect!
Sushi didn't seem overpriced. Good menu selection.
I like the atmosphere, kinda makes me feel like I'm in Japan (not that I've been)

Alright, I am a sushi girl at heart and since I just arrived from New York City, I had to compare. The atmosphere is very interesting but not only that, the service was great. I went very early since in Eastern time it's 9 o clock and I was very hungry. The sushi chefs are so nice, and really awesome. The fish was fresh, and I ate so many different kinds that they offer. It's my first time eating fresh wasabi and I really enjoyed it!
San Francisco over New York anytime. If you haven't been here yet, I think you should really come out and try this place. It's AWESOME (:
I have been skeptical about getting sushi from a Sports Bar/Japanese combo restaurant that also serves pizza, but a friend of mine said Blue Fin was really good.
My bf and I got take-out last night, and we were quite disappointed.
I think the amount of fish in the rolls was the minimum requirement by law to be called sushi. The ratio of rice to fish was about 4.1 to 0.9.
The pieces of nigiri were quite small as well. The fish was fresh and good, but nothing too special. The Romeo and Juliet roll had a small dollop of mayo on top which was not in the menu description- IMO- yuck!
The presentation was pretty. I asked for extra ginger which they totally provided.
There are many other sushi joints in this city, I do not need to go back here again.

I hate to give just 1 star since it wasn't horrible, but there are so many other sushi places in the bay area that I'll probably never come back here.
First off, we sat by the window which seemed like a good idea until we noticed the horrible smell of urine, but I'm not one to let something like that affect my opinion of the food.
The service was fast and friendly.
We went for the rolls. Lots of unique rolls on the menu, but everything was too saucy for my taste or had MAYO. Everything seemed fresh and well made, but just not my style and, in my opinion, not authentic.

I've been meaning to try this place for quite some time ever since one of my friend's raved about the place. But I was loyal to a few other sushi joints in my neighborhood, so I usually took a pass. Lately, I've just been ordering for "take-away" (as the Brits like to call it) since I'm always impatient when it comes to delivery - except when it comes to pizza (and these guys have it too). Anyway, I found one of their menu's strapped to my door. I usually toss these things since most of the times it's from a really bad Indian restaurant in my 'hood.
So I decided to give it a shot...and then another a week later...and yet another. Yum. I usually go for some sashimi, a roll and a salad. I know, picture of health (seriously, it is). I know when it's good sashimi when it literally MELTS in your mouth. That's the shit right there!
As for take away service, I called them and in about 10 - 15 mins, it's ready. There's a white zone in front that's usually open, if not, roll the dice, put on your flashers and park next to the fire hydrant. I'm usually out in about a minute.
I did eat there a few times as well, and I wasn't disappointed either. The atmosphere is cool and the service seemed pretty efficient - I usually sit at the bar so I'm usually taken care of pretty good.
Oh yeah, the pizza. I did try a slice of the Osaka that some peeps at the next table let me try. It was good, and different. I actually felt like I was in an episode of the original Iron Chef trying this slice (I was actually waiting for some fish flavored ice cream to be served for desert). Would I order the pizza for myself, I doubt it. When I want pizza, I want a traditional pie...maybe from Gaspare's on Geary (but that's in another review of mine). When I'm at Blue Fin, then I want sushi.
Damn, I did a long review. I hate long reviews...I felt like I just blogged. Crap.

OK. I ordered an order for delivery about 7:15... simple order of about 3 or 4 items. They said it would be about 45 minutes. An hour later I call to check on my order and the dude on the phone says it's on it's way. Great. I live about a mile away. Half an hour later I call again and find out that the dude on the phone had no idea what he was talking about and they had no record of my order at all.
HELLO - I just gave you my phone number half an hour ago! Why didn't you call me back and tell me the order was lost?? OR - you coulda offered me SOMETHING to make up for your shitty service. Discount maybe? Free roll??
WHAT THE F!?
SUCKY MCSUCKERSON! You guys at Blue Fin need a brush up course on customer service!!

You know, I had been here a couple times and thought it was just ok. Its definitely not my favorite in the city but it has a big menu, its next door to a bar where you can get cocktails and its in my hood. And it turns out they deliver, which is actually why I'm Yelping...
I had gotten a delivery menu on our gate and kept it with our other delivery menus even though I don't like to have sushi delivered. Well my folks were in town this weekend and long story short we ended up placing an order on Saturday night. For four of us we ordered about $100 worth of food. We stuck to mostly rolls since I have a problem with fish being delivered to begin with (but thats what my fam wanted.) I just don't know about sashimi coming to my door, you know. But anyway- all the appetizers and rolls- and even a Japanese pizza- came quickly and freshly to my door. They didn't get the order wrong, they were quick and we all enjoyed the meal. I would go back but out of convenience. I would also only have sushi delivered again at my guests request...
