BB's new location feels a lot more spacious than their previous building-and that's cool enough for me. It does however feel less convenient to get to, and sometimes I just don't think to stop by which is unfortunate for a quirky local business. Whatever...I still like shopping there, when I remember to. They have a fantastic shoe collection that they often put on sale which is always a treat for me. Lingerie selection is alright though it is generally hit or miss (sizes mostly). One of the best selections of faux eyelashes I've seen in Salt Lake-very glam! They also sell POPS makeup line which is fabulous. The clothing is pretty cool too and I've picked up some great unique and signature items here before. Toy section is usually run by someone fairly informative but as usual the markup is rather libido squelching. I have found the staff here to be kind of stand offish in general-though never rude. Just not the best at customer service and selling. I warm up whatever sales clerk I happen to grab by complimenting them or using some amusing chit chat and that works out just fine. A plus point of the staff is they are usually more helpful and definitely much more attractive than say...Dr. John's staffing. And really if you are running a sex shop, that should be a priority in your sales team.
I'm sorry but this place has lost all of the charm the old Sugarhood location had. I think the West Temple one has a lot more of that niche, personal ambiance. This one has gone from friendly to feeling something like Dr. Johns. Granted it's not divey like many adult toy stores, but I won't go out of my way to go to the new Sugarhouse location.
I never buy anything in here, but it's an interesting place to shop. Probably not a good place to bring your kids to, even though they do have a separate adult section. It's just interesting/refreshing to see a place like this in Salt Lake, of all places. I'd like to try the piercing lounge someday.
