I've been going to Blu for around 5 years. I followed Jill there from her previous salon.
The previous reviewer was correct she can have you looking great in short order.
I love the Bumble and Bumble products and they frequently send their staff to New York to train at the Bumble and Bumble salon. I thought this was great that they believe in training their staff in the latest and greatest techniques and trends.
I've been faithfully going here for over two years, and Jill has been fantastic. However, she broke her ankle a few months back and has been out of commission. In that time, I've seen two other stylists, once for a trim, and another for a haircut, and have been pretty disappointed. The lady who did the trim really hacked up my bangs, and it took months to grow them back the way they should be. I grew my hair out for THREE excruciating months, and finally caved in and needed a little shaping, and I emphasized not to lose ANY length, just thin out the back a little.
Well...yeah, 2.5 inches cut off, and I can no longer pull my hair back :( The stylist is new, and the cut is okay, but the fact that she didn't really listen to what I asked for really upset me. Basically I'm back to where I started 3 months ago. So sad.
Everyone there is really friendly, but certain stylists are better than others, and again, probably depends on your hairstyle. Go with the recommendations from here if you can.

I've been going to Tricia at Blu for over the last year, and would not trust my hair with anyone else. She is fantastic, and I even had her do my hair in the perfect up do for my wedding last August.
Was looking for a change so tried a new salon - Jen is my stylist, although she's out on maternity leave now (congrats Jen!) I've always received really great haircut/style, good product recommendation without pushy sales tactics. Thumbs up from me - but skip Miso Sushi for lunch (its across the street) - horrible service there.
I didn't give this place 5 stars because I haven't really tried other places and I've usually gotten my hair done by people I know. But, I will say that I love April. She dyes and cuts my hair and she's really personable, sweet, and attentive. They give you complimentary Bumble & Bumble shampoo and conditioner at your first visit and you get a free bang trim in between your cuts. They don't really push product on you, which I like. They are around the same price as everyone else, so you don't have to worry about paying too much and coming away dissatisfied.
Jill ROCKS. I was referred by a friend who is constantly complimented on her hair, and she's been seeing Jill for years. I've gone to Jill about 5 times now and she has been awesome each time. She corrected a very bad dye job on my blonde hair and had me looking like a natural blonde straight away. She does take her time, which is fine with me, but if you're looking for a speedy cut, she's probably not your gal. She is the first person I've gone to that adds a little style to the cut in a way that is original and complimentary, without being overly trendy or extreme. Two thumbs up for the stylist. The salon itself is fine, nothing fancy, but the cuts are a little high in price ($45).
