Rachel was great! She was very friendly and listened carefully to what I wanted. It's scary finding a new stylist in the city, especially when you're taking a chance on a new style; with Rachel you can relax.
The place is nice and clean; they offer you a beverage when you walk in the door; and the head massage is wonderful! All in all, a great salon experience!
Don't forget to bring cash for a tip (the rest can go on a card).
Important announcement: This review does not reflect Elena, who I still love.
I should have listened to my gut when she was sick, had to cancel and recommended I see Rachel if I really wanted to get my haircut that day. (It was the second day of canceling; I hope she's feeling better!) It was Friday the 13th. Never get your hair cut on Friday the 13th. Just don't do it. My hair is very straight, so when I get a bad cut, there's no hiding it.
I don't think Rachel was listening when I said, "I'm trying to grow my hair out, so please a very tiny trim," because she took off close to 2 inches. She also did not do a good job layering my hair; the layers are only in the front, and on the left side it's just two layers -- long, then shorter. The blowout was hardly that; I do a better job at home with no products. Even my husband, a man who is terribly sweet but never notices things like haircuts or makeup, said, "It's not the greatest haircut you've had."
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I might start taking vitamin E and prenatals so my hair can grow out some and get it cut again -- by Elena. I am so depressed.
11/17 UPDATE: The salon called and offered to credit my haircut so that I don't pay to get it fixed after it's grown a bit. For that, I've added back a star. I'm sure there are other great stylists there, and I respect what they've done to correct the mistake.

Today was my first time at Blondie's, and I love my haircut. Elena was my stylist, and she does an… Read more »
I got my hair highlighted here. I asked for an ashy blond that was well blended with my natural color. About a week after it was done, my friend said to me that it was like it was never done. She was right - I only had a slight reddish tint to it in a couple of spots (yuck). So I called the hairdresser at Blondie's and said that I wasn't happy with the outcome. No hassle - she just set up another appointment for me to come back. My hairdresser redid my highlights in their entirety and didn't charge me a dime. Sure, I tipped her, but that was my own choice. This time, my hair was undesirable again, but the blonds were various different colors - still with an orange tint to it and on the sides in a few spots, shiny grayish. Ugh. I decided to not tell the hairdresser and just move on.
So to continue on with this really boring hair saga - I contacted a friend (I've just moved back to this area after being overseas a couple of years and am looking for a hairdresser) and she recommended Jaimie at Clip Art Hair Design in Baltimore. I went and she fixed it and now it looks fine... but it was a mess to fix after two highlights (and so many colors by that point). That is besides the point that I don't like wasting my time - I had to sit with foils in my hair 3 times in one months time... so undesirable. I was wishing that 3rd time that I had never even went for highlights and just stayed with my normal brown hair.
Anyway, Blondie's get's 2 stars instead of 1 because the hairdresser did take her time to redo it for free with no hassle (nice personality). The haircut was well done. Of course, I wish I had not gone back a second time, but live and learn... and now I found the person I'll go to from here on out at the other place.
I've been to Blondie's a few times now and have loved it every time. I see Elena for coloring, cut, and style and LOVE her. She does a great job every time and her personality is refreshing. You can tell she takes pride in her work and I swear she gets better every time I go. In addition to Elena, the receptionist and staff are spot on. They're very attentive and make sure you're comfortable. Every time I've had my hair washed it's been like a mini massage and that makes a big difference in the whole experience when you're there for over 2 hours for a highlight. Love Blondie's. Oh, and the prices are great for what you get.
I've been going to Blondie's for almost a year and overall, my experience here has been great.
I love having blonde hair, and so I thought a salon called Blondie's would be appropriate. They don't use "bleach" here, but some kind of mixture that is gentler on the hair. I thought this meant my hair would turn orange-ish, but they somehow get it as blonde as you want it.
I started out with Janna, who saved my hair from a bad bleach experience. When Janna left without telling ANY of her clients, I switched to Kuki, who I've seen about 3-4 times. She is very friendly and professional, and is a true "artist" with hair color. She put blonde, brown and red in my hair (at my request) and managed to make it all look natural. Kuki is also really fast, which is something I can appreciate after years of getting my hair done at the salon. I've had people take up to 4 hours to finish highlighting my shoulder-length hair, but Kuki can get the color and cut done in less than two.
The reception staff at Blondie's is also terrific. I'm used to showing up at salons and hearing them say "Oh, we didn't know you wanted a cut. We don't have time for that." The receptionists at Blondie's actually write down what you'd like done, so the stylists are fully prepared when you arrive. It seems like a little thing, but it's something that the reception staff at many other salons cannot remember.
I called Blondie's Tuesday to see if they had any openings for Wednesday, as I had realized that I needed a haircut as soon as possible. The girl who answered the phone was extremely polite and amiable, more than once addressing me by name during our conversation; this was a far cry from the haughty and dismissive tone set by some salons right off the bat.
A couple of stylists had openings available, so I told her to just pick one. She set me up with Chris, who was very friendly and easygoing. I really didn't care what he did and wasn't looking to have to think too much about this haircut, so I just left him to his own devices.
First, he sent me over to the hairwasher (not sure if that is the official term), Jessica. All I could think about the whole time she was washing my hair was how much I was going to tip her (i.e. lots). I guess most salons throw the old head massage in while you get your hair washed, but Jessica was amazing at this; it wasn't just for a minute either. It seems like it must have been at least five to ten minutes. I forgot about the haircut and just wanted to pay her hundreds of dollars to massage my head.
Anyhow, Chris also did a great job cleaning up this mess. He was fun to talk to and didn't give me a hard time about how long I had waited between cuts. He also offered to let me come back within a few weeks if I decided I wanted something a little more dramatic. While I didn't go for a huge change this time, I would trust him with the scissors when I do in the future.
One other thing - I love the big windows at Blondie's and how light and airy the whole place feels.
Bottom line: Solid work from friendly and unpretentious folks in a lovely shop.
I've been to Blondie's twice now and I really like them. I go to Rachel and she is usually available in under 4 days at the very longest. She takes time to listen to what I want done and discusses it with me. She never tries to sell me products or deep conditioning treatments and the one time I did one I brought it up. I do recommend the conditioning treatment for the lengthy head massage alone however! I almost fell asleep in the chair.
The prices are very reasonable, ($55 or so I believe for a trim and that includes styling), the salon is well appointed and bright, and they always provide a much appreciated glass of wine when I arrive from work.
They do not accept tips on the credit card though so make sure you bring some cash. There aren't any ATMs conveniently located.
**3.5 stars**
I think I'm too picky. I made an appt. with Linh after all the reviews late last year and although he did a decent job, the cut didn't blow me away. And for the price and the desired result that comes with it, I want to be blown away and absolutely love the cut.
Linh was extremely nice and took great care of me. I felt kind of awkward too because I used to see Brian, when he was at his old salon, but when I moved away from Adams Morgan, I tried something closer to home and when I came running back to him, I was informed he no longer worked there :( We both noticed e/o and I felt horrible, like I purposefully stopped seeing him *and* didn't at Blondies, but I had no idea he worked there.
Why is it I feel guilty like I've cheated when I switch hairstylists? However, I highly recommend Brian--he always did a fantastic job with my hair and is a doll.
ps-sorry this review sucked so much and I hope you didn't read much past the opening sentence.
I have been using Gina (one of the owners, along with her husband Linh) to cut and color my hair since 2004 when they were working in another salon. Even though I moved to NY two years ago, I continue to come back to Gina to get my hair cut and highlighted. I have referred Gina and Linh to almost all of my friends and many of them now go to Blondie's, I have never heard any complaints. I have to say, as a longtime devotee, I love their new place, it is WAY better than the last salon they were at and I greatly enjoy the posh surroundings :o)
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Blondie's to anyone I know!
This place is great. I love Elena! She is a sort-of off beat character and she gives a GREAT hair cut and blow out. Cookie/Kuki is a superb colorist. The shampoo women (and one man) are all great and take extra time to massage. And you can have a free glass of wine as your hair is transforming :)
Gina literally saved my hair. I've been going to Blondie's for a little over a year now and the results show, big time. My hair has never looked or felt healthier. A previous salon was over-processing my highlights and the result was an unwanted brassy color and unquenchable dryness. Gina has my hair back on the straight and narrow.
Don't be surprised by product-promotion, but no one is twisting your arm to buy anything you don't want. The service is excellent, the staff is friendly and well-trained and Gina is wonderful!
I have been to Blondie's 3 times now - twice for color and once for waxing. For color I have both times seen Kuki. I think my color is beautiful! The first time I just had my roots done (I am about 60% gray - boohoo - so she was just covering the gray). Kuki offered some good suggestions about lightening my base color to start to create less contrast between my gray and color. I took her up on her suggestions and the second time I went for full highlights. The highlights came out beautifully...really natural looking. My hair color is originally quite dark but you would never know it...even though my colored hair is many shades lighter than my natural haircolor, it looks so natural. I think it actually compliments my skin tone better than my natural color. Kuki took her time getting the color just right. I honestly couldn't find a complaint with my color - i love it! Its a cute little salon and they offer wine :) and candy! heaven on earth.
i also have to put in a word for the woman they have who does their waxing. She gave me the best brow wax/shape I have had in DC.
The services are not cheap. But I would rather pay a premium for natural-looking highlights than get a bargain and brassy stripes!!
I am almost afraid to review Blondies, after seeing the dozens of uber positive reviews. However, having tried 7 or 8 different salons in DC, I figure I might as well say my piece on this one.
I was super excited to go to Blondies, after reading all the Yelp reviews and especially because my hair, which is thick and coarse, was getting long. I asked Cookie to trim a couple inches, and to not add any extra layers, as they just make my hair poof. I brought in pictures of what I wanted and also noted that I needed a bang trim.
Cookie delivered on length, although she added some layers here and there, but I was terribly disappointed with my bangs. After trimming them short she took her thinning shears and cut them to little wisps, even after I asked her not to. Wispy bangs look silly on an otherwise very thick head of hair. When I got home, I saw that the bangs on one side are inches longer than on the other and that at their shortest, they were just over an inch (gasp :( ).
I was also a bit upset that I kept getting pressured to buy products. I was told that my shampoo and conditioner were sub-par (who knew Bumble & Bumble was so bad?) and that I should buy some sort of expensive 'sebum rebalancing' shampoo.
Where Blondie's earns back a star is on color. Cookie convinced me to do a hair treatment that would add temporary pigment and make my hair really shiny. It was expensive but really did the trick. My hair was amazingly rich and shiny for 6 weeks.
I might go back for color but probably not for a cut.
Janna peaced out on me... totally left with out a forwarding location (I found out she is at cielo in pentagon city). That is waaaay too far for me, so I opted for the first person who could fit me in- Rachel was very nice and I am pleased with my cut. It has grown out for 3 months and still looks amazing- it is my favorite haircut i have ever had. Go to Rachel- she won't dissapoint!!
Blondie's still gets high marks in my book for the wine, ambience and fun people that work there!!

Like so many others, I found Blondies on Yelp and was so happy I chose to go there!! My steady… Read more »
I still have not found a destination barber in Dupont. I was for certain satisfied with my appointment with Linn, and she was kind and professional. Everything was as it should be and I would go back. I wasn't wowed, but I did get a satisfactory cut.
Visited Gina on Tuesday, New Year's Eve's eve, for a basic trim / shape and she did exactly what I wanted. I showed her some pictures of my hair both curly and straight and she shaped it up so that it will work with both styles. She gave me exactly what I wanted and explained why she was cutting as she was and its effect on my cut. She seemed very knowledgeable and I am completely happy with the cut. She did not try and sell me any products and gave me several months before I'd probably need to come back since I have longer hair - she was deinitely not pushing anything.
And they gave me a glass of wine to ease into the holidays. I'll be back.
Thank God for Blondie's.
I was in a really particular situation last Wednesday (don't ask) and needed a pedicure quickly . I was in Farragut North and none of the salons could fit me in last minute - I didn't blame them, it was basically pedicure rush hour (ie 5pm, when all of us glamazons get off of work and run to the Salon). I called Blondie's in Dupont and they agreed to fit me in in 20 minutes. So I hopped on the train, and got there just in time.
They were packed - tons of people walking in haggard and coming out beautiful from the Salon powers that be. I had a pedicure with Grace and she was really sweet. She did a fantastic job, used OPI polish, exfoliating scrub on my feet and ankles, and was friendly. She was very quick and when she finished my feet looked and felt amazing. It's been almost one week and my pedicure has totally held up and still looks great. This is probably the best pedicure experience I've had in my life - not even joking.
Yelp, you've lead me astray on this one.
I read the rave reviews, and made an appointment with Gina. I have really thick, unruly, wavy hair. But with the right cut, it can look pretty good. I definitely did not get the right cut at Blondie's. My appointment started with one of the worst hair washes I've ever had. The washer rubbed my head so hard and for so long that I thought my hair might fall out. I told Gina that I basically just wanted a trim, but my hair needed to be thinned out because it had gotten ridiculously thick. The cut looked fine when she finished & blew it out. But it hasn't looked good since, and as it grows out it keeps getting worse. It's too thick, my waves look blah, and overall I think it looks like a mom cut.
Not a total disaster, but nothing to rave about. I won't be going back.
A friend recommended Blondie to me and when I called, I told them that I have long curly hair and wanted to chop it all off into a fun sassy bob. I asked -- who would be the best to that? They said Mike and scheduled me with him.
When I got there he listened to what I wanted, which was pretty vague -- chop it off, bob, fun like Victoria Beckham but without such a dramatic length variance. I told him I had been growing out my hair for Locks for Love and it was time to cut it off (it was down to the middle of my back). I warned him that I've never had hair shorter than shoulder length and that I was putting my trust in him to make me look good ....
Well he made me look fabulous! He spent almost two hours on me. Cutting, washing, cutting some more, then he blew it out, styled it, and then cut again to make it perfect. I felt transformed while sitting his chair. Everyone in the salon was watching and smiling, adoring his work.
When he was satisfied with his work, he let me take a full look. I loved it -- absolutely loved it. He turned to me and reminded me how much work went into it and that I better work it! I left the salon walking on air!
Later that evening I went to a party to show off my new hair. My friends said I looked like a new person, they loved it! People who I hadn't met said that the cut really suited me. It makes me look thinner, fresh, and modern -- much more professional. The upside is that I can wear the cut straight or curly - straight is definitely sexy and professional, very sleek, while curly is fun, sassy, and a little more casual and wild.
I swear by Mike and highly recommend him to anyone who is nervous about cutting their long hair or who wants an amazing bob. He definitely puts in the time and effort to make sure that you and he both love your hair. He is definitely my go-to and I wouldn't let anyone else touch my hair from this point forward!!
Oh and the best part -- my whole life I've paid about $15-20 for my hair cuts. I was afraid that a big fancy salon would charge an insane amount, like over $100 --- not the case here. For all that work, the total cost was only $70! I know that's a big increase from what I used to pay -- but the expertise, time, and effort -- as well as the final product -- made $70 a bargain!
If you like having awesome, young, fashion-forward hair, go see Bryan. You won't be disappointed.
I've been going to Bryan for years (I followed him to Blondie's from his old salon), at first just for cut, then I got tired of doing my color at home, so I made room in my budget for him to do that, too. I have a super-technical and difficult style in both cut and color, and he does such a great job that I have people (including other stylists) come up to me on the street dying to know where I get my hair done.
I also second the earlier comment about him doing a great job on men's hair. My boyfriend also goes to Bryan and looks great afterwords.
As for the salon itself: Spacious, bright, sleek, comfortable, friendly, and no product hard-selling. It doesn't get much better.
Wow. What a wonderful haircut I just had at Blondie's Hair Studio. Like many people in DC, I have been everywhere in the city trying to find a salon that I like and a hairdresser that gets my hair and cuts it well. Blondie's might just be the winner.
I walked in to find a very clean, modern salon with a lot of natural light that was very tranquil and relaxing. I was one of two people getting a haircut at the time, but I can imagine this place gets busy with the after work crowd. Still, even with more people I think this salon will still have a good, relaxing atmosphere which is as important to me as the hairdresser. I have been to many salons that are loud, crowded, and dark. I always feel rushed in a place like that and I don't enjoy my haircut as much. But, Blondie's made me welcomed ad relaxed right away.
The receptionist greeted me with a smile and asked me if I wanted a drink. It was the middle of the day, so I did not take a glass wine, but you can get a free glass with your cut. Then I met Roberto, the stylist, who was extremely friendly. He really took the time before he started to really listen to what i wanted and gave me his advice and input on what he thought would look good and work for me. Even the girl who shampooed my hair was sweet and she did a wonderful job massaging my scalp.
All through the cut Roberto and I chatted. I love a stylist who is not afraid to talk to the client while working. He also was extremely gentle when he was blow drying my hair and showed me different ways I could style it for work and night. It was the first time in a long time that the hairdryer did not feel like it was burning my scalp when my hair was getting styled. The result, is a very nice, simple layered cut that works for my face.
Now, the real test for a good haircut is to see how it grows out. If It still looks good in a few days, I will definitely be back to Roberto for another cut.
Downside is the salon is not cheap. $60 for the cut plus tip. But, it is time for me to stop looking for a good cheap haircut because I have not been able to find one in the last five years in this city.
Try Blondie's and ask for Roberto. It was worth the money.
Roberto has always done a great job or me, but I had a very bad experience last week, and I will never return.
I waited to the last minute to schedule, and settled for an appointment with their 'junior stylist' (wish I could remember her name). After waiting 15 minutes, the receptionist tells me that she had to cancel my appointment. No reason why. Barely apologetic. When I expressed my disbelief, and disapproval of such behavior, the receptionist could reschedule me for another time.
No thanks.
My sense of being welcomed to Blondies has been destroyed. Bad junior stylist! I hope she learns this is not the way to treat clients.
I've only been once, but Elena did a great job with my hair. My hair is very fine and thin, but I walked out of there with tons of body and volume. The receptionist was extremely nice too, as everyone else said.
It's hard to find someone you trust to translate your vision into reality. I have been to Blondies a half a dozen times and each time I grow more and more fond. I was not only disappointed each time I walked out of other salons in the area, but I was poor too!
I used to go to Charles (whom I loved and adored), but since he left I've started seeing one of the salon owners Linh. He's great and his attention to detail is top notch!
Blondies is just what this area needed: affordable, professional and dependable.
I called Blondies at 10am on a Monday and they got me in by 5:45pm the same day for a haircut with Rachel. The shampoo before the wash included a thorough head massage, which I love. Rachel was knowledgeable and friendly. I have long, thick curly hair so its really easy to mess up if you don't know how to cut hair. So far the cut looks pretty standard and stylish, she kept my layers long and didn't take off too much length. My co-worker had a nightmarish experience at Blondies with color, but for a well-priced cut at $55 I'll definetely go back. No one pushed product on me, and I didn't leave crying. its still the first day and I'm wearing the blowdry that Rachel left, but so far so good. However, the receptionist came over to tell Rachel twice that her next appointment was there, only 20 minutes after I arrived. This was before Rachel had even cut my hair, so the appointment felt rushed.
I always get my haircut from a long time friend. But I have to go home to Bel Air to get that done. (shout out to Jenny T) It just became a hassle. So I read some reviews on yelp and decided to got to Blondies. I made my appointment with Bryan.
Whenever you go to a new stylist for a haircut you never know what to expect. I got my color done and it was fabulous. Very edgy but sophisticated. I left with a good haircut but it wasnt what I expected. Don't get me wrong it looked good but was a little conservative for what I was going for. Now, I am a person who has a hard time saying that I dont like a haircut but I really thought that I should atleast call back to see if Bryan would recut my hair. And he was great about it. I mean he got me the next day and really sat down with me to make sure I was happy.
Needless to say that I walked out beaming. I got the haircut I wanted and was just super elated that it worked out.
He was so accomodating and what it really came down to was it is so hard to know what people mean when they want something edgy because he has done it all and well sometimes on the first cut it is better safe than sorry.
So Bryan I love you and I am going to tell everyone how great you are.
Brian is the best! He is such a wonderful guy and a truly talented stylist. My hair is pretty difficult to cut without making me look like a mushroom or a mullet lover. (or i have just had some bad haircuts by terrible stylists- but whatever) Brian takes his time and really takes into account how much effort you want to put into your hair (In my case not much more than a quick blow dry) and then makes you look like a Super You. I have been seeing him for over a year and a half now and he is always learning something new and executing it perfectly on my head. He is magical.
Oh, for all of the dudes out there...My man-friend goes to Brian, too. He does a great job and makes him look super hot.
As for the actual salon, it is very nice and relaxing. I followed Brian here from his old place and I am happy with the switch. The front desk staff is very nice, polite, and professional. You can always hear them, because the music is at a reasonable volume (I appreciate a good rock out session at the salon, but I hate to yell or be yelled at). It is very airy and open inside and easy for me to get to from work.
I highly recommend both Brian and Blondie's. You will not regret it.
What I got: Brow wax from Grace
You know how every time you get a brow wax you are just a little bit dissatisfied? I mean, it always looks better than it did before, but you know it could just be a little better?
Well - I finally found the holy grail with Grace. ABSOLUTELY UH-MAZING shaping. I felt like it was completely worth the money ($15) and it was hands-down much better than my typical waxes at $25.
Recommended Grace to a friend for a brazilian and she also said that Grace was awesome.
Go immediately.
Minor annoyances: I could not get a same-day appointment and the waxing room was bizarre (v. uncomfortable table and they just had a super bright fluorescent light instead of a movable lamp).
UPDATE: Just finished my second trip to Blondie's. Even more amazed the second time, if that is possible. HIGHLY recommended!

Wow. I went in to Blondie's yesterday with no expectations, as I have yet to find a salon in DC that compares to the one I went to in NYC. I have been in DC four and a half years and have been highly frustrated with the salon situation. Salons here are either hair factories (in and out, stylists with minimal skill) or stuffy, overpriced, conservative affairs. NOT BLONDIES!!! I walked up the steps on 18th Street and entered a clean, bright, hip, stylish place with friendly and knowledgeable people.
Linh took my overprocessed, badly cut, damaged hair and turned it into a gorgeous, manageable, cool style that is both sexy and work-appropriate. Plus it feels a hundred times healthier. And the price was surprisingly lower than the last salon I went to in DC.
This place is fantastic. Now I don't have to stress about traveling to NYC for a hair cut and color! I have a cosmopolitan place to go right here in town.
Janna did a really nice job and did it exactly the way I wanted it. She was also really pleasant and I will be a regular now. The wine was a nice touch and the ambiance was good. The head massage was really nice. My only complaint and advice is that they don't take tips through your credit card, only cash. The only place I've gone like this they allow you to add the amount to your credit card and then give you cash to put in an envelope for your stylist. They didn't have this system and I had no cash, so the front desk girl snottily told me that there was an ATM outside 'somewhere'. She acted like I was the first person to have this issue, and I felt a little put out by it. Overall, a good cut and generally good experience. Bring cash for tip!
I wrote before that Blondie's was a great place for a hair cut. However, I wrote that the day that I had it cut...live and learn. In reality, the cut was pretty bad. My mom had her hair cut there too and she had to recut her hair within less than a week because it was all over the place (she has short hair) I finally decided that it was time to get it fixed. The hair dresser I saw in NYC was amazing. Her first comment, "Wow, who cut your hair. No offense, but it is awful." It was. I had to blow dry it all the time to make it look reasonable and got a lot of, "it's not THAT bad" comments...not super reassuring. So, I would recommend to keep looking.

I gave a gift card of this salon to my wife (I chose it based on Yelp's nice reviews about it). She went there yesterday and had a hair cut and highlights done with Gina. She tells me Gina is wonderful and did a great job, and I agree. Apparently the place is quite nice, with a great ambiance and excellent service. She'll definitely go back.
Way cool salon. Top class service without attitude. Check it out!
GREAT PLACE.
I saw Bryan and I think he's fabulous. (His assistant Rachel kicks ass too!) I had a 5pm appointment on a Friday afternoon to make the big jump from champagne blonde to chocolate brown. He was very warm, talkative, and knew exactly what i wanted. My color looked perfect when i was still under the dryer, but somehow when it was washed, it turned bright red!! I would usually get upset over something like this, but I was very calm because I knew that Bryan would not leave me hanging, and he didn't. He put toner on it two additional times to even out the color and promised that if i didn't like it, he would fix it anytime. I went home that night feeling pretty good, but still felt like it was a little red the next morning. I called back and Bryan fit me in during his busy schedule to do a corrective color. Now it looks great and the cut is perfect! He genuinely cares that you like the cut and color. That's hard to find here in DC.
I really like the atmosphere of Blondie's... there is no snobbery or pretentious feeling in there. It is super clean and in the perfect location. I feel very pampered while I'm there. I had a glass of red wine while i was under the dryer and had the best head message while they were shampooing me. I almost fell asleep, I was so relaxed!
i'm huge on customer service and this place is definately 5 star in my book.
I found Blondie's on Yelp and it is FABULOUS! They are so great about scheduling and I loved the wine while my color set. Cookie did a phenomenal job with my hair - it is GREAT and the color is SO pretty!! I think it's the best haircut I've ever had, and I have super-curly hair that I like to straighten OR leave curly. Perfect shape to the style, manageable, exactly what I asked for and also wise suggestions... The head massage was GREAT, too. It's clean, everyone's friendly and I am SO lucky that my first DC salon (just moved here) is The One.
got your pen and paper ready? i wanna give you another goodie for hair: linh at blondie's.
i asked for wash-n-go hair, and he gave me wash-n-you-go-girl hair! you know the women in shampoo commercials with hair that twirls and bounces with each step? i've got that hair!
same get-ready time, same hair routine -- cover girl results! i love it.
sashay! shante!
I'm very happy that I found an affordable salon in DC, that's great. Janna was awesome! My color was right on, and the cute was fun and fresh. Again, prices were surprisingly manageable for DC. I can't wait to go back!
Yelpers to the rescue. Gina is a goddess. The salon is clean and just hip enough to feel cool but not pretentious. Staff is friendly. And they let my boyfriend and dog crash in the waiting area for two hours while I had my appointment (long story). I really wanted to take my brown hair into the blond realm and her three-tone highlights were spectacular. Additionally, I forever have issues with my unevenly wavy/curly hair. Stylists often cut layers that look cool when my hair is straight, but "shelfy" when I go natural. Not this time! I've done straight, diffused, updo, down, ponytail, bangs forward, bangs back, etc. Love them all. Granted the full highlight and haircut put me back $200+ (ouch!), but the touch ups will be less and I am more than thrilled.
I think I've found my spot. My two cuts, from two different people, have been good, but my last one from Janna I was especially happy with. The atmosphere is not at all irritating or in-your-face hip; just laid back and relaxed. I like that I can get a glass of wine with my cut, that I'm always seen on time, and that Grace gives the best brow waxes I've had.
Fabuloso! This place is fantastic. Gina--Linh's wife and co-owner--is a star and first rate professional. She cuts and colors hair like no other, all at a reasonable price and always with a smile and an upbeat attitude. Customer service reigns at Blondie's from the receptionist to the entire staff. Can't recommend this salon high enough. Five thousand stars!!!
