A pre drink before the photo shoot shesh!
I've been here on several occasions and the place is always a hit. The drinks are great and well priced. This is definitely one of my favorite spots when I go to SF. It's my meet spot with friends. -

Blondie's is definitely a spot worth checking out. I was here on a Saturday, mid afternoon, and had a phenomenal time. There was plenty of room to sit at the bar, and enjoy your martini while chatting it up with the friendly bartender. The martinis, while not cheap, are DEFINITELY going to put your on your A$$. You order one, and you get what seems like three or four! Maybe a bit aggressive to go the Dirty Martini route at 2:00 PM on a Saturday afternoon...but hey, sometimes that's just the way the cookie crumbles! The martinis are definitely well made and potent.
On a nice day, there's a ledge where you can sit facing the open windows and people watch. There's definitely an eclectic mix of people in this neighborhood. It's cash only, so come prepared--but really all you need is one drink here. Trust me, you'll be feeling just fiiiine! -

My brother told me about this bar I had to try, and was trying to explain to me the whole concept of giving the left over martini in the shaker glass. My immediate response was, "Well that's just stupid, it's just water at that point." He tried to explain to me that this was not in fact what he was talking about. Imagine my surprise when I ordered a martini, and GOT ANOTHER ONE IN A GLASS! I was SOLD. They also have super cute half pints if you don't want a full glass of beer. (Why you would do this, I don't know, but it's awesome the option was there). Bar was clean and popular for a Tuesday night, and the staff was very nice and attentive. Plus it even came with it's crazy regular at the end of the bar. Bar atmosphere complete.

I always assumed Blondies must be kind of fun if it has cover and is almost always crowded.
I would never go because of the cover, and the unappealing tunes that are constantly playing. It was a friend's birthday, so out of obligation, I tagged along.
I was inspired to write a review because I heard the refrain of every Top 40 dirty song from 2003 - 2009. Maybe my knowledge of mashup is lacking, but it was literally chorus after chorus of songs like Candy Shop and 3 6 9, damn shes fine, etc. -

Feel like getting drunk with the bridge and tunnel crew? What about some 45 year old desperate women? Well, if you can stomach two of the Blondie's martinis, then you may surprisingly find yourself saying pile on the B&Ts and GMILFs.
In all seriousness though, the place is a bit of a crap show on weekends, but if you are in the mood for some dirty dancing (sweaty and gross supreme) then it's an okay spot. The place is much better during the week, when it is less crowded and may have live music. -

WARNING
I would not have reviewed this place, but after seeing Olivia K.'s review about her stolen iPhone, I had to post as well.
My iPhone 4 was also stolen from this place tonight, right out of my purse. I like the DJ and drinks and all, but SKETCHY THIEVES ROAM THIS PLACE apparently, and commit repeat thefts.
To reiterate, PEOPLE WILL STEAL THINGS OUT OF YOUR PURSE FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT. I'm sorry to do this because the staff there are nice and the music/drinks are good, but thieves come here and will steal your shit. It's not worth it. Please take warning. -

I came with a big group on Sunday. It was my first, their second, stop on a pub crawl. We were literally the only people there, so if you want personalized service, apparently that's the time to go!
I ordered the sidecar martini and boy was it tasty! Plus, you get a whole shaker of martini goodness to get you nice and buzzed.
The bad? This place is cash only (although they do have an ATM but of course they charge you like $4 to use it)
They have a huge list of cocktails that all sound delicious so I look forward to coming back and trying more in the future. -

A great place to get drunk. With 16oz martinis that go down like water, who would??!!

I have read some of the other reviews and can understand some of the frustration.
But if you are looking for a good Martini look no farther! Great selection and you don't just get a Martini....they leave you the shaker that has another Martini in it! WHAT the what?!
I took my little sisters there recently and it was the cheapest night out ever. 1 drink a piece and they danced th enight away on the no so nice dance floor. But it did the job.... -

This is where black out time occurs. Everyone (who drinks) knows what I'm talking about. You're out with friends on a Friday or Tuesday night, the first bar is a warm up with beer, the second bar includes beer and a heavy amount of shots, the third bar is kind of a blur but you think you had more shots and perhaps some cocktails. At this point you think you're okay but really you're on the verge of being completely wasted. That's how I left Blondie's.
This little dive bar with a stage in back has a massive amount of martinis to choose from. The martinis cost around $13 each but they give you the shaker which equals to about 2.5 drinks. Currently, I'd recommend getting the Blondalope (refreshing and easy to drink with a nice cantaloupe accent) and the Wise Guy (whiskey based with a hint of citrus). All the martinis are made with a heavy hand. Thank you, bartender!
I can guarantee that you will leave here either buzzed or wasted. If you're neither, then you shouldn't be coming here or drinking period. There's nothing exceptional about the bar space, layout, service, etc. People come here for the strong tipples and that's what they get....black out time.

So gross, and yet, so fun.
Are you looking for somewhere to drink big gulp-sized martinis and dance with your friends? Yes. Do you mind if that includes getting beer spilled on you? Nope. Can the place have a cover charge? Sure. How do you feel about drunk people falling all over you and gross bar restrooms? Ah, I'm ok with it.
If you agree with all of the above, Blondies might be for you. It's generally a pretty gross bar -- lots of drunk people falling, spilling and breaking things. The bathroom is always a hot mess. However, they play great music and if you just want to dance your pants off, this could be the spot for you.
Proceed with caution. -

I'm just here to echo what everyone else is saying about the Martinis. They're super expensive, but you get so much that you're drunk by the end of your first glass.
I hate the people that come here; it's always crowded, hot and sweaty. And the space kinda sucks. -

WARNING ----- SKETCHY PEOPLE ---- THEFT
I got my Iphone 4 stolen out of my purse (that was on me and closed) at this bar this past Saturday.
If that shouldn't be warning enough to stay away from this bar, the dancefloor sucks and the music does too. -

MARTINI ALL THE WAY!! BEST MARTINIs in SF!
Large strong drinks of martinis with extra served on the side definitely makes it worth $12 and done for the night ! Good drinks, music and dance.. what else you ask for on a Saturday night party? Definitely not for the ones looking for a quiet place to lounge and relax.
Loved my "Blondalope", so refreshing and tasty! Would like to come back to try the chocolate and all the rest !!!
PROS:
1. BIG SIZE MARTINIS! with extra served to pour after one drink, 1 drink = 2.5 drinks!!
2. Large selection of martinis in the menu
3. DJ playing hip hop on Fri & Saturday
4. Small dance floor to shake your legs after buzz wit the drink!
5. Fun time
6. Small patio overlooking the street for people watching and smoke, lovely!
CONS:
1. Cash only
2. $5 Cover charge on weekend nights
3. Inspite of getting stamped once, if you get out of the door for a smoke or anything else will have to stand back in the queue to enter , tats ridiculous! So dont go out until you decide to leave!
Blondies is definitely one of my favourites in Mission and i'm a fan of your martinis! -
Review from Amy S.
San Francisco, CA
I was really excited to go to Blondie's, as some friends of mine regularly go there and greatly enjoy it. I was there last Friday and was a touch surprised at how crap the music got. In the beginning it was alright, cheesy 90s remixes that were just what the dance floor needed. But then a new DJ came onboard and started playing, for lack of a better phrase, complete crap. The beat was too slow to dance to and the songs were unrecognizable, and once he started there was a noticeable mood change on the floor. The worst part was how into it the DJ was, like he was the greatest DJ around and was dropping some mad beats that everyone was loving. I might try it again but my expectations extremely low at this point.

I love the selection of Martinis at Blondie's. They're all very original and have super cool names like "The Shady Daddy" and "The G Spot"...and not to mention, are yummy! Our bartender was awesome and our first round (chilled grey goose shots...yeah, we're a bunch of super classy ladies) were more than double shots! Aggggh! On to our second round with the coolio Martinis. Not only do you get the Martini in the Martini glass, but you get all the "extras" in a second pint glass for your drinking pleasure. Kinda like at Denny's where you get almost an entirely second milkshake in the canister. For that alone, I'm a fan! Order a Martini and you instantly get a Martini x3!
You aren't coming here for ambiance. This is a bare bones dive bar, but what they do, they do well.
Prices are extremely reasonable....or we got hooked up....or I'm used to being ripped off living in NYC now. You've been forewarned: Cash only! -

Blondies is a neighborhood joint. It's for chill people who understand a few points...
1. cash only...all the cool bars are doing it.
2. it's a MARTINI bar. people go there for the MARTINIS. even if you think you don't like MARTINIS, you'll find one you like at this place. open the menu.
3. if you're complaining about the service, you're probably a tool.
4. if all you wanna do is dance and judge the DJ's, don't walk into a tiny dive MARTINI bar, go to a club, tool.
the coolest thing about this place is that there is a martini for every taste, sweet, sour, clean, classic, bitter...AND they give you a PINT GLASS with the left over martini in it...so you basically get two drinks. -

Been here a few times and it is a nice little spot for some yummy drinks. They tend to be pretty generous with the alcohol and pretty quick. The space is small, but I have been their mostly at off hours so I don't know how packed it gets. Love going back there when I am in the area.

I've never eaten any food here but I am a frequenter for the martinis. They are very good and you get the extra from the shaker on the side. It's really like 2 and a half martinis. Also, this place is fun for dancing on a weekend night.

OMG. The friggin martinis in PINT glasses, or at least the rest of your martini (so like, two more) in a pint glass. :) Martinis are my fave now because of this place!
I have never left this place without a black out and a great time.
For that reason, it's ALMOST off limits for me, but not quite. I think I'll learn how to balance it all out...maybe.
Dancing: always. Fun: Definitely. Live band: sometimes, DJ the rest of the time. -
Review from Caitlin H.
San Francisco, CA
Oh Blondie's how you have tricked me twice, I will never know!
The music here is TERRIBLE. Mainly the DJ loves to pull the bait and switch by playing ten seconds of your favorite song and then awkwardly transition with his lack of skill to your least favorite song. It is impossible to dance to this DJs spinning. I had to pay $5 to have my ears bleed??
On the positive, my friends all loved the dick and bush deal, probably just because it's called dick and bush.
Also, if you are down for a 16oz martini, this is the place to go. They do not however, know how to make anything that is not on the menu. If you order anything else, they assume you mean a 16oz martini, and give you one. -
Review from Tiffany L.
San Francisco, CA
Seriously people?! This place deserves WAY more credit!
The martini's are AMMMMAZING, LARGE and STRONG.
If you enjoy a legit martini this is your place. Yes, it's a bit divey (but what's not in SF?) and they do charge a cover, which I agree is lame. Yet, the music is banging and I have never left this place not fully intoxicated which is kind of special.
Be sure to bring CASH... not only for the cover, drinks and to avoid the ATM fees but most importantly for the drunken late-night tacos... just sayinListed in: My SF

I always have a great time at Blondie's.
I don't order their Martini and cocktails very often, but when I do, I really feel like I get a good deal. In general I order their specials. Right now they have $3 Bud light and Tecate, $6 can of Bush and a shot of Dickel....
Their new special is the Orange Julius, Seagram's 7 Stone Cherry with OJ and 7Up. Its pretty good, strong enough, hard to find a better deal for $3 in the Mission.
They recently renovated their little patio area and removed the small tables. Now, it feels like you are at the bar with a view on Valencia St. Perfect people watching spot. Make sure to come early if you want to secure a sit in the patio, there are only 5 or 6 out there. -

Perfect place if you like Martini's. Twelve bucks for a martini, Drinks are huge and you can keep refiling your class with the left overs from the shaker. (more like three drinks) Atmosphere a little drab, but a fun place if your in the right mood!

Tip: If it's crowded, head straight to the bar in the back. Get served with the quickness.
Cash only, but they have an ATM out in the back. -

Weird place.
I don't get why they charge cover. Would definitely be open to dropping in again if not for that -- it's not exactly like a club or lounge where you anticipate staying for a while.
HOWEVER, the almond mocha martini is super delicious. And yeah, it's like, $15 for a martini, but they serve it to you in a 16oz glass, so it's really 3 martinis. -
Review from Leonel R.
San Francisco, CA
Blondie's is my favorite bar in the Mission for a weeknight martini (yes, I said martini). I always go here either on a Wednesday, Thursday, or sometimes on Sunday afternoons. I avoid Fri/Sat nights because that is when the party rockers drop by ready to dance! There is a cover on these nights. I go on quieter nights (damm am I getting old?)...
I like the fact that you can sit inside the tiny little patio, enjoy your drink, have a smoke, and watch all the craziness in the mission. And the mission is craaaazy! It's great for people watching and you see all types pass by from trannies to tourists. It can be hilarious. The bartenders are nice and personable! The martinins are strong. So, if you're looking for a non-pretentious all welcoming chill bar, then stop by. If you don't like, there are many more nearby. -
Review from T W.
Cambridge, MA
The owner is sassy as hell, and really awesome (she's blond, are you surprised?). She is the owner/manager, hence why she allows her big slobbering dog to sit on the booth seats at the 5:00pm "rush" on Mondays.
Overall, drinks are solid and their Diet Coke is the yummiest fountain soda EVVERRRR. Don't be too surprised when your tab is like, 14 bux for one drink... their cocktails are no joke on their pricing.
Otherwise, all in all a great bar with good music, seats at the bar and outside, and there is an ATM in case you forget your cash.
Shout out to Blondie... you might live in Noe Valley but I know you are not a lesbian! -
Review from Jeff M.
San Anselmo, CA
I like the bar itself. Great band and dancing floor! Not my choice of decor personally but I can appreciate the effort.
The martini is pricy but you get your moneys worth.
We had a little trouble with the service. Bartender was a bit unfocussed and forgetful. It was hard to get his attention and when we did he was forgetful and had to be reminded of our orders.
We had the hardest time with the barback who kept collecting our drinks while we were dancing. My wife ordered a beer and had just a couple sips and it was collected while we were dancing. The bartender was nice enough to make another one but same thing it was collected after a few sips.
If the service staff could tighten up their game a bit I'd be happy to give this place a 5 star rating. -
Review from Jon L.
I love that Blondie's is a bar with no grill. It is exactly this same snarky cheekiness that pretty much encapsulates the charm of the place.
Now if you love your martinis big, then you'll love it here. For $12.50, you get to pick one of their house specials - a whole pint of it. I stuck with beer all night though which isn't bad because Blondie's has a nice selection of brews including Leffe on tap. Special mention goes to the bartender when he realized he had forgotten about my drink (It was like my 4th or 5th pint so I was in no hurry anyway) and poured me one on the house. Cheers.
It wasn't crowded early on but it definitely picked up as the night wore on. Don't think I would want to pay a cover to come in to Blondie's but it's great for an early evening pit stop in a night of trouble. -
Review from Erin F.

MY FRIEND THREW UP HERE.
Blondie's is a good place to go if you're looking to get completely smashed, because the martinis are GINORMOUS. When my best friend and I came here, the DJ was spinning a really awesome mix. The dance floor was empty at first because everyone just stared at it awkwardly, not wanting to be the first to dance. My best friend single-handedly fixed that. I couldn't finish my portion of martini, but SHE did, that champ. And just like that, she was belligerently (but cutely) drunk outside calling ex-boyfriends. We danced our asses off and had a great time. If it's around $25 bucks for two huge martinis (including the excess left in the shakers, which ends up being about 3 martinis in each one), you'd think they'd take credit cards, but I've come to accept that most places in the city are CASH ONLY. -
