I was a little nervous about ordering window treatments online, but Blindsgalore's prices are a lot lower than Home Depot and I was kind of on a budget (after getting the credit card bill for our kitchen cabinet upgrade, the husband was keeping a MUCH closer eye on the cost of my whole "home makeover" idea).
So I'm pretty picky about home furnishings and stuff, but the selection on their website was good and the whole process was pretty easy...they have videos to explain how to measure and everything, but I figured that's what I got the husband for, right? We just entered in all our window sizes and everything, and the shades came pretty quickly.
Now if I can just talk hubby into some wallpaper and new faucets, we'll be all set!
Do not buy from this company. My wife ordered $723 worth of drapes from http://Blindsgalore.com. She followed their online "drapery measurement guide" to order the drapes and the order confirmation showed what she ordered. After SIX WEEKS we received drapes that were twice that size and they did not fit our windows. Our first call to their customer support was with "Cynthia" who said she was sorry and would call the manufacture (not them, they outsource) and would issue us a return label and send us a check refund. Cynthia commented to us about the error their manufacture made, "Old ladies shouldn't be making drapes."
It has now been over four months later. We have called them over 20 times - but mainly just get put to Cynthia's voicemail and she doesn't return our calls. They finally sent us a return label, but have since changed their story and said they would instead just fix the size and reship them back out to us. As you can imagine, after several months, we've actually had our baby and already purchased blinds for her room. WE WANT OUR $723 BACK!
Note on Blindsgalore's website, their return police has NO MENTION of refunding - only that they will correct and reship. So if you can wait for 4+ months for the right window treatment - by all means, shop there.
I had ordered Cellulars shades from http://Blindsgalore.com and they're perfect. I had ordered the Blindsgalore Cellulars Shades in Semi-Opaue fabric and the light control is just what I was looking for. The sales team helped me understand the terms and I made my selection from there site with ease. Everything you need to know about the shade is listed on the site. I had to call them for my receipt, customer service was great. Installation was easy. I would recomend them to anyone looking for an easy yet inexpensive way to shop for window treatments.
Where do you go when you have need of a bunch of plantation shutters for some new digs but don't want to pay ridiculous retail pricing?
The internet of course. And one of the highest spenders in Google paid search is Blinds Galore. This explains why when you search for 'plantation shutters' , they are almost always at the top. They ALSO almost always are advertising some crazy discount like 15-25% off. So you click.
But you wonder...how SMART can this really be? Ordering window coverings online. What if something goes wrong or they take your money and charge your card but never send the product, blaming manufacturers.... cuz you know window coverings ain't cheap. I also read on the internet that happens sometimes....and you KNOW the internet is always right.
I used them once in the past for a smallish order of top-down/bottom-up (no jokes please) Hunter Douglass shades...and they delivered fast and installation was easy. So, this time I didn't balk too much about placing my order for a lot of plantation shutters online...even though there was a fairly daunting 'measuring and installation' document with diagrams and lots of bold text that did make my palms sweat upon entering measurements and hitting the big bold SUBMIT.
Did I measure right? Did I add on the right amount for the outside mount? Was I right to go with bright white instead of natural white? Wait...WTH is the difference?!?!?!
There are some benefits to shopping offline. Like having someone measure for you (aka being able to place blame elsewhere) or being able to see samples of swatches for natural vs bright white. You CAN do that stuff with Blinds Galore, but it takes more time and effort and money and frankly I'm a lazy ass who just doesn't have the time...I needed shutters on my new windows pronto.
I was jazzed when the shutters showed up within 14 working days instead of 21 the way the website had originally noted. I was NOT jazzed when we found that the 'included glue' was not really included, esp after opening all the boxes to find it and ... zero.
My hub was jazzed at their detailed installation instructions, how each blind and component was clearly labeled, and fun diagrams. My hub was NOT jazzed that I had not added on the correct amount to EACH individual side of the outside mount, meaning he had to drill new holes and rethink the installation calcs. Oopsie. My bad.
But we got 20% off and they came within 2 weeks which was astounding. They look amazing, they totally transform a house into a home. They are awesome, we love them.... and we love Blinds Galore. BUT...next time please include the GLUE.
