My band played here last night.  We're from Columbus.  We had a blast!

Good bar food, neat atmostphere, good local music, good layout, good sound system, etc.

The patio can get a little crowded at times, but overall a really cool place.  We'll be back!

So, I don't make it down to the Oregon District very often. I think parking sucks and is inconvenient, it is kind of a hassle to get to from my area of town, and generally it is more convenient to stay local. Yesterday I ended up having the day off because of the New Year, and I decided to shake off my usual perception of the Oregon District and give Blind Bob's a try as I had heard good things and well I just was curious. I am glad I stopped by because it was a great experience that could have been just slightly better but was good enough to keep me coming back.

My friend arrived a few minutes before me but it was about 11:50 or so and the reestaurant/bar/hang out was pretty empty besides a few other tables. Don't know if this is the usual lunch time crowd or if it was desserted because it was the Monday after New Years. Either way it was nice because we got great service. Since neither myself nor my friend had been there before we asked what was his recommendation.

See the menu consists of a lot of sandiches, burgers, and mainly bar food which is good because this is the guilty pleasure types of food that I like...a lot. The waiter said they have really good burgers but their sandwiches are good too with the Screamer and the Falafel as the most popular options. Their burgers are stuffed and I am picky about my burgers and prefer them medium rare so I doubt I would get that in a stuffed burger so I sided with the Screamer while my friend got the Falafel. In addition, Tom ordered a cup of the tomato bisque (they were out of the pickle soup?!?!) and I got us an order of the Hula Hoops because they just sounded intriguing.

Of note is that the bar does have a pretty darn good list of beers and selection on draft. I would have indulged if I wasn't still trying to get over my "fun" from New Years so I decided to pass but made a mental note. The bar is fairly well kept in terms of decor with hole in the wall types of decorations (lighted signs, Budweiser advertisement signs, etc.) but was well kept so I appreciated that.

Within a short period of time the tomato bisque and the Hula Hoops came out. The tomato bisque was raved about by my friend as one of the best that he ever had. The Hula Hoops are fried pineapple rings with a sweet coconut sauce. These things were unreal but also delicious. The sauce did a good job of bringing out the cinnamon flavor of the batter but the Hula Hoops weren't heavy at all and I gladly ate my fair share of them.

We had just finished the Hula Hoops when our sandwiches arrived. I was instantly jealous of Tom's Falafel because it was gigantic (think the size of a Chipotle burrito) while my chicken sandwich was a bit on the tinier side. A bit dissapointing because he had said their sandwiches are generous in size. Oh and we both upgraded to waffle fries. The waffle fries were nice and crunchy with just the slightest give to them so they made great for dipping but alone they could have used a little bit more salt to bring out the potato flavor.

The Screamer sandwich is a grilled chicken sandwich with teriyaki glaze over a few pineaplle rings on a regular bun. The portion of the chicken was pretty small in my opinion and definitely could have been beefed up. The flavors were all good with just enough of the wasabi mayo shining through. Tom really liked the Falafel and said it showed that it was homemade.

In the end we escaped with a bill right around $28 which I think for the price and what we got was pretty fair. It would have been fantastic if my sandwich was bigger. Service was pretty spot on the entire time with our water being filled continuously and pretty regularly.

In the end I made a mental note that I was definitely going to come back again at some time to try out the Pickle Soup and to give another sandwich a try because they all sounded fantastic. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area and just want some bar food and the other cuisine of the area doesn't entice you.

Blind Bob's, how have I not left you a glowing review!

On a roadtrip to Dayton, we stopped by here to enjoy some delicious local flavor. Bob's is a dive bar with worn out mahogany wood and high ceilings. It's old, it's seen everything, this adds to its charm. My favorite part was getting to play board games while we waited for our food to come out. We busted out Guess Who and had a rousing few games minus a few vital faces. I can't remember the last time I've played Guess Who. This was a blast!

For appetizers, we had fried pickles with Tzatziki sauce and Hula Hoops: battered and fried pineapple rings served with a sweet coconut sauce. Delicious! For my main, I had the Island Delight Burger: a half-pound patty, stuffed with pineapple, pepper-jack cheese, teriyaki glazed with wasabi mayo. A juicy, succulent burger; I never knew how good a sandwich could be with ingredients stuffed inside the patty.

Blind Bob's was somewhat hard to find as we walked through Downtown, however, it was worth every step. If you're a fan of good burgers, craft beer, and eclectic toppings, this is your perfect pub.

    Price per person: $15.00

I love Blind Bob's. Seedy bar meets American tavern. What's not to enjoy?

We actually had a little trouble finding this place, as our GPS kept trying to take us down a crazy back alley. We felt a little blind trying to get here, but then, there it was, right on the main street. Not sure why you wanted us to go down the seedy alley GPS, but dammit, it's all part of the adventure.

We were excited because they were proudly talking about raspberry pear cider on tap on their board outside. Turns out, though, they were all out - plus, they were all out of the potato salad, chicken, fallafel and more. Sunday is a dangerous time to go to Blind Bob's apparently. You're better off hitting it up earlier in the week.

Still, I was quite happy with what they did have. I got the fried pickles to start (which were full pickles, not pickle chips) and it came with two different sauces - a ranch and a Tzatziki. Win. Then there was the BLT on sourdough bread which was equally delicious.

And their drink selection was killer! Tons of craft and local brews. Loved it.

The atmosphere is fun as well - kind of a dark, almost run-down but still classy music bar with dark wood everywhere. There are beer signs on the walls and staff walking around in things like skull t-shirts. They even have a selection of board games, but when we got out Guess Who (hell yes we played Guess Who!) it turned out most of the faces were missing. But somehow, this just added to the charm.

Blind Bob's is a fantastic place to get a drink with friends ... just don't go in the back alley. You don't know the horrors I've seen back there.

What you'll find here is most excellent food, most excellent beer, and pretty low grade service typical of any budding hipster bastion. I like the place, had some good conversations here on visits, but hold a little bit of disdain in my heart for it by the same token.

+++ live bands = local support.

Blind Bob's is perfect.  Great digs, excellent food, and just the right level of dive-iness to cement the place as a hipster staple.  I tried The Screamer - a perfectly prepped wasabi-teriyaki chicken sandwich.  My friend had a half-order of the chicken quesadillas, generous in size for the price.  They've got a decent Happy Hour for Pabst drinkers at $1.50 a pop.  And Pub Science - at 7PM on the second Tuesday of every month - is an awesome feature for the nerd in all of us.  Great to have Bob's as an anchor for the Oregon strip!

Lovely.  I just went there last week.  The chef took my allergy list and gave me a delicious vegan meal that wasn't on the menu.  The menu had delicious food, too, but I'm just special and get special food.  Special and ordinary people will enjoy Blind Bob's.  Please patronize this establishment.

Blind Bob's is a great addition to 5th Street. The food has been great each time. The pickle soup is one of my favorite's, and the BBQ bacon burger - a little slice (actually a thick slab) of heaven. And the hummus sandwich is outstanding. The beer selection is good - only a few taps, but great beers in them. You'll definitely want to try more than one...or apparently six, if you're my date. But I digress.
The atmosphere is slightly blah, except for behind the bar. It feels like there's a lack of personality in the seating area, just a big space with tables and too much wall.
Oh, and check the entertainment of the evening before you go - it varies, and if you happen to sit with some friends and get a little rowdy on poetry slam night, you're not going to make new friends. It could get awkward. Just be aware.

Good bands:  cool.  Good beer selection at low prices:  cool.  Good food available till like 11 pm:  cool.  Male bartenders were nice:  cool.  Keywork tatt on the one bartender's elbow:  cool  (I'm a fan).  Lots ot seating as well as lots of stage front space:  cool.  Overall vibe:  pretty dern cool and I'd stop back.

Not so cool:  Having to wait literally 10 minutes to get a beer after midnight while the three bartenders, who'd been very attentive earlier in the evening when it was actually WAY more crowded, waited on literally everybody else at the bar but me, despite the fact that I was standing right by the cash register where they all had to pass me to ring up their orders.  Y'know, when a person is standing at a bar waving paper money they generally would like a drink.  Hey bartender lady with the glasses and bobbed haircut, I am talking to you, because you looked straight at me like, twice and totally ignored me.  And yeah, I'd been tippin' so I ain't be trippin.  I did finally get the beer but being ignored isn't so much fun so for that you lose a star.

Awesome:    Falafel, waffle fries, fried mac & cheese (though it's
overpriced for how much you get)

    Pretty good:  Burgers

Meh:               ambience, beer selection, trying to get a table or a refill

Not so good: The service is soooo freeeeeeaking sloooow!
And inattentive. And distracted. Every time. No
matter how few customers there are. I work as a server, so
I am definitely not a primadonna, but come on! I would love
to have the falafel more often, but every time this place gets
suggested I use my veto power. The environment is not so
compelling that I can be distracted for 30 minutes (and one
time more than 45!) waiting for my food... especially since it
takes the server 10 to even come to the table in the first
                           place.

Wow, excellent burgers, excellent beer selection, and more than fair prices.  My one gripe is that the Juke Box, while not the worst I'd ever seen, was still a bit of a let down.  It had some good albums but way too many head scratchers in there, also was missing quite a few standard bearers (plus a lot of bad albums by good bands).  Refine the jukebox and I'd become a regular.

    This is a quality bar

it has 1.50 PBRs which to me is a good freaking deal yes, you read that correctly, 1.50 for a PBR a beer that is good when you want a cheap beer, that isn't just bad. You can't really beat that.

they have Magic Hat on tap, which is a good bar, in my mind

A relaxed atmosphere that can have a jukebox, or live music depending on the day of the week.

The bartenders are awesome, they know how to make lots of different drinks, make them stiff when you need it, and they food here at blind bobs, oh the food.

they have amazing falafel that taste so good, so unique its all I would eat if they served nothing else.

The Screamer is a wonderful chicken sandwich that is so juicy, and has a great spicy mayo on it topped with Pineapple rings which sounds odd, but really works.

Last but not least try the pickle soup, try it just do it. Its is creamy, and tangy and delicious and I want to drink it by the gallon. EVEN if you don't like pickles you will like this soup

This is what Dayton needs more of, a bar with reasonable prices, attentive service, and a good atmosphere that's food does not take a backseat to the drinks.

Blind Bob's is a tavern in the Oregon district of Dayton.  My wife and I recently went there for a late lunch.  The food (including several vegetarian options) was carefully prepared, fresh and tasty.  The atmosphere was relaxed (a live but not noisy room).  There was even a jukebox of tunes ranging from classic jazz to modern rock.

Blind Bob's is everything I'd want in a bar and more.

The batter they used for the fried pickles left a very bitter taste in my mouth.  I liked the spice it had to it at first, but after a couple more bites it was overwhelming.  My burger was overcooked, and had hardly any blue cheese in it.  The waitress took forever to refill my beer when there was only 1 other table occupied at the time.  6 clients total.  On a positive note, the waffle fries were great!

overall i was excited since i am new to the area and i wanted to find a cool tiny spot to just kick back and drink some beers:)

the good plus!!! they allowed my pitbull to sit with us on the patio which is AMAZING!! its nice to take him out since i was used to it in cali

the food: appetizer- fried mac n cheese. too bad it was kraft mac n cheese. if they made a homeade sauce with yellow or white cheddar they would be amazing but nothing was new about these. they were alright but wish they were just unique

i had the screamer sandwich. meh. it was ok. teriyaki sauce was good  chicken was overcooked and everything got soggy quick, like before i got a chance to eat it. the house dip the chips are served with kinda tasted good in the begging but just fell short of flavor a couple of more dips in. my husband had a stuffed burger that wasnt really stuffed

and service was super slow and there was only 2 tables. i later found out it was the waiters mom on the other table so he spent most of his time talking to her while we needed another beer

Bob gets the fifth star after dinner tonight with my folks and little brother.  I've been meaning to get a bit to eat here and was glad I did.  The fried pickles and fried mac and cheese were both good, but the sandwiches were great.

My dad really liked his reuben, my mom said her "Screamer" (chicken sandwich) was good, my brother bashed a cajun stuffed burger, I had the falafel - it was the junk, and the lady had the fish sandwich (Seadogg?) which was also good.

Since I'm not a big meat person let me tell you about the falafel.  I've eaten a lot of this stuff over the years.  This is the most unique and possible the best (breaking the top 3) falafel I've had in recent memory.  It looks like most, but has a very interesting flavor, with a hint of cinnamon.  Lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and the sauce bring it on home.  A must try for the vegetarians and anyone who digs the stuff.   Don't forget the waffle fries.

Eat there, drink there, and be merry - you need to want to go to here.  This place is the junk - my highest rating (and my wife gives it five stars because she wasn't afraid to touch the surfaces in the bathroom).  Now I'm just worried about Tank's.

It is a pub atmosphere with friendly waitstaff and a creative menu. You can't beat a chef-driven bar food menu where no item is over $10! I love pickles, ergo, I'm a big fan of the deep fried pickles and pickle soup. It's a family-owned business. Mom & Pop own. (Pop is Bob, and he is legally blind...) Son manages. Great bar staff. Fave server is Christian. Attentive with a great wit. Looks too young to work in a bar, which means I'm old and he's probably 25. Keep up the good work, BB's!

Went back here saturday with some friends and the food was fantastic, the fried pineapple with coconut sauce was out of this world! Why only three stars this time you ask? The service was horrible, maybe it's because we got there 10 minutes before the kitchen closed (out waitress reminded us of this), she was very slow and not very pleasant at all. the food was 5 stars but minus two for the lack of good customer service, sorry Blind Bob's, we will be back though.

Formerly the Nite Owl, Blind Bob's has hit the Dayton scene with quite a surprise.  Having previously played in a band we'd have all our shows at the Knights of Columbus in Dayton.  Once all the kids started treating that place like crap there was no where else around.  Sure, there would be house shows/parties here and there but no place nice to host them.  Enter: Blind Bobs.

They have a great facility, wonderful bartenders, great food, and an awesome atmosphere.  The bands are fun, the servers are fast and friendly, their drinks are varied, tasty, and well priced.  I cannot really ask for more.

My new favorite downtown hangout... so much nicer and cleaner than the old Nite Owl. The food's good... I'm not usually a mushroom fan but their fried portabella appetizer is awesome w/ the tempura dip. Burgers and the felafel wrap look really tasty too, will have to try that next time. Nice crowd, attentive staff... what else can you ask for. Exactly what downtown Dayton needs.

Stopped in for dinner ; nacho like Fiesta fries were very good, as was my burger.  Where do they get their sandwich buns?  They are wonderful!  A 312 ale on tap topped off a pleasant return visit to Bob's.

Blind Bob's is one of my favorite watering holes in Dayton.  The draft beer selection is good and they keep their taps clean.  They have the most interesting menu of any bar/grille in Dayton.  Great falafel and a few unique items like pickle soup, which is terrific.
