Category: Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt [Edit]
Neighborhoods: Alphabet District, NorthwestSuch a grand idea. A yogurt boutique. Never seen one on the east coast and glad I experienced it. I tried some samples and honey was my favorite. Some fruit and granola --can't go wrong!

After months of being perplexed by this crazy West Coast frozen yogurt (if I hear one more person say "froyo" I will KILL) frenzy, I now finally understand it.
Bleuet is, unlike Red Mango, a locally owned and operated mecca of tangy Kefir deliciousness. All three flavors (cinnamon, honey, and plain) are worth your time...and if you're hesitant to commit to just one, they are willing to mix multiple flavors in the same (compostable) bowl. Bleuet's yogurt isn't as creamy or as sweet as Red Mango, but it's still moan-inducingly good.
So now that I've fallen in love with this stuff, I guess my spare change will be going towards overpriced boutique probiotic dairy delights. Thanks, you fucking hippie jerks.

I have walked by Bleuet too many times to count without never going in- I think it has been about the whole "boutique" thing; as I have spent too much time working in boutiques...(good news- I have been boutique-free for of three years! Yay!)
Anyway- I have been burning up in my apartment and the gelato that used to sing my song has not been doing the trick!
So, I decided to get past the whole boutique thing and try it!
Bon!
The yogurt was so delicious! Tart and icy, and just like R E A L yogurt! They have three flavors: plain, honey, and cinnamon, but it is still a little overwhelming with all the topping possibilities. Luckily, the kind staff will gladly offer suggestions.
I went with plain yogurt topped with strawberries, blueberries, the hemp granola.
That was last week and I have been dreaming of it ever since!
They also offer a ten percent discount for students, and, best of all, they did not make me feel like a cheapskate when showed them my student ID! Woo Hoo!
I can't wait to fill up my punchcard!
Unfortunately, they are located next to a nail salon-no bon- I had wanted to sit outside and eat my yogurt, but the fumes chased me away!

I have been hooked on Bleuet since last fall. During the winter I would get my favorite small, plain w/figs or rum raisin and sit in my car and eat it with the heat cranked up. The temperature of this confection seems so much colder to me than ice cream....I have to eat it slow or there will be certain brain freeze. I mentioned that i get the small size, and the reason for that is that this stuff is e-x-p-e-n-s-i-v-e. I could eat a gallon at a time (really, I could) but simply cannot afford it. The staff is not as friendly as I would like, but overall would highly recommend you give this place a try.

I think it's safe to say that most people think of frozen yogurt (i.e., froyo, or, frozen yo) as the way for dieters to eat ice cream: It looks like ice cream, it tastes like ice cream, and hell, it has all the chocolatey junk that ice cream has.
Bleuet has redefined froyo to me. It looks like soft serve, but it sure doesn't taste like ice cream! What a delightful surprise for your frozen yo to *gasp* taste like frozen YO (i.e., yogurt). It's tangy, it makes your mouth water, and it's not super sweet. Oh, and did I mention that it's all NONFAT and ORGANIC? Good-bye soft serve! Helllloooo, Bleuet!
A medium is huge enough to share with a friend or your SO, and they have tons of nummy topping options. They even have pre-constructed combinations to help your imagination grow (ala Coldstone). And I'll say from experience that the Caramel Apple is nothing short of divine. Think cinnamon-vanilla froyo, FRESH apple compote (with chunks of apple with the skin!), extra crunchy candied pecans or cashews, and warm caramel sauce. So good...and I could barely finish it!
The only thing is...the divinity won't last long...between your devouring it and its melting, it'll be gone in a snap.

Is Bleuet pricey? Yes
Is Bleuet delicious? Yes
Do I love to go to Bleuet for lunch because it's A) Not greasy B) Not fatty C) NOT a salad.
Would I make the walk all the way down 23rd JUST for Bleuet? No probably not - generally I don't get the munchies for yogurt. Also Skinnidip is closer to me if I did get said craving for yogurt.

When I first saw bleuet, I scoffed at the whole "boutique yogurt" title because to me boutique = expensive/way overpriced and the words 'yogurt' and 'boutique' together in one title was a ghastly oxymoron....
... then as the foodie sucker I am, decided to give it a shot. I gotta say, the whole concept was pretty cool (yes.. pun intended). You basically get to build your own frozen yogurt parfait and you don't feel bad about the huge serving because the stuff isn't really sweet + the whole nonfat thing. The hubby and I split a medium vanilla/cinnamon with ginger granola and apple compote (YUUUUUMMMMM) and had a hard time finishing it because it was super huge.
I docked a *star because true to its 'boutique' title, the stuff is pretty damn expensive. For said dish, it set us back about $6... really? for yogurt? yes its good, but come on....

Way too expensive... Smallest size is $2.95 with toppings priced at $1.10 each. Can't say it wasn't good though! I've never had anything like it, it tastes more like actual yogurt than other frozen yogurts I've had. Very refreshing and really good, but can't see myself going back because of the crazy prices.
Growing up in Mississippi turns you weird sometimes. I remember the generative moment, a homunculus in the heap of daily ordinary moments. I am 4. It's the 1970's. I have pigtails, an aqua tube top with matching terry cloth pants, and yellow jelly shoes that squeak with sweat as I drag Mother into the strange new shop next to Sunflower Grocery.
I had spied an ice cream machine.
Mother had spied incense. For sale, in the open, where anyone could see it. We all know incense leads to drugs and fornication, especially the Strawberry Vanilla Spice with the black girl on the label. Too late, I already had my chubby little hands around a dish of ice cream, which the owner patiently explained was healthy frozen yogurt, very beneficial. I didn't care, it had a frog on it, and I liked frogs, and wow he spooned honey on top and I wasn't allowed to have honey because it comes out of bee's butts. And when I tasted it....
Like nothing I had ever had, ever. It tingled like when I would hide under the bed and stick a 9-volt battery on my tongue. This was different. This was unsafe. This was wonderful. I'm sure there must have been real stars in my eyes. The owner beamed, "It's made from goat milk!"
I won't describe the scene Mother made as she got me the hell out of such a place. In many ways I've spent my whole life trying to get back into such a place. I never had frozen yogurt like that again.
Until.... Bleuet.
I tasted it again, I found it again, I am 4 again and the world is full of dangerous unknowns, wonderful adventurous dangerous unknowns.

First timer here. I went along somewhat reluctantly, expecting the "wannabe ice cream" product that is generally known as frozen yogurt. Think again. They have 3 frozen yogurt bases. Plain, which is (oh my God!) frozen yogurt!. Honey, which adds just a bit of sweetness but more than anything just honey flavor. Cinnamon, which didn't do much for me, but that's probably a personal issue. Then you add toppings if you want. Nice looking fruits, nuts, etc. I did plain FY with blueberries. Perfect. BY FAR the BEST frozen yogurt I've ever had.

I am in love with this place!! I first went in here because a friend had brought a cup back on her lunch break and had me try some, I was blown away!
I had to go get some.... not only is the place super cute but it's clean and fresh looking.
The yogurt is the best i've ever had, with fresh blueberries and kiwi and sooooo many other choices, the best part about it is the scrumptious treat is really good for you, 150 calories for a huge yogurt. The only thing is that it's a bit spendy but it's all organic and fresh so I can see why that is.

I LOVE BLEUET!!!! I went there 3 days ago and I have been there every day since then. The yogurt is so freaking good, it's like crack. You take your first bite, it seems a little weird, no sweet, kinda tangy. Then you have another bite, and another, and then ohmigod, it's all gone! And I want more. I have tried the honey and the cinnamon, and they are both outstanding. PLUS, it has low fat, low sugar, and it's good for you! Plus, tons of delicious toppings! LOVE IT!

The question is: why isn't Bleuet open for breakfast?
Cause the cinnamon + honey combo could easily replace my iced soy latte!
Not what you would expect upon hearing "frozen yogurt", this place serves the "real stuff" with with local, organic, no sugar added ingredients. Think plain breakfast yogurt...not that choco-vanilla swirl that you get from TCBY.
I'm a HUGE fan because I'm a little bit of a health nut...(those who know me well are laughing...) So 18 calories for 8oz. of this stuff is pretty much divine intervention in my book. Plus you can add toppings like fresh berries, flax seeds, and granola. YUM!
It is definitely "A Boutique Yogurt" that is perfect for this part of town - but unfortunately, they charge "boutique prices" as well.

This is pretty good stuff. Slightly different than the trendy yogurt places that are popping up all over the place. The yogurt here tastes just like real yogurt. To some that's a good thing, to others...not so good.
I like getting the regular flavor w/ wild blueberry flaxseed granola.

Forget everything you think you know about Frozen Yogurt.
While visiting Portland we stumbled upon this awesome new frozen yogurt store on their first day and it was amazing.
This is NOT regular Frozen Yogurt. This is really good, house-made, quality yogurt that is frozen- very little, if any sugar added. It is served with fresh fruit and/or granola etc. and is perfect for breakfast, lunch, snack or dessert.
This concept has spread like wildfire in L.A. under the banner, "Pink Berry" but this is a bit of an improvement (not that there is anything wrong w/Pink Berry mind you).
Notably, they used biodegradable spoons and bowls which is not only good for the environment, but actually is nicer to hold and feels better in the mouth.
Get the blueberry while it's in season- combine with the cinnamon yogurt.

Bleuet, Bleuet, oh how I LOVE thee! Even your name sounds like a sigh of satisfaction.....BLOOOOOOUUUU-AAAAAAAAAYYYYY!
In a world where pleasure is almost synonymous with guilt, you have taken a stand! You say, "NO! Don't feel bad about this delicious experience! You deserve it!"
This yogurt reminds me of being a kid, when my mom would buy pints of Dannon frozen yogurt from the grocery store (I can't find it anymore, I think they stopped making it ages ago, sniff sniff). This is no ice cream wannabe yogurt, people! This is the real stuff! Tangy, creamy, just barely sweet, and the best part...PRACTICALLY GUILT FREE! (aka, fat free, low calorie, local, organic, all the good stuff).
Bring on the strawberries, mango, blueberries, Marion blackberries! Or be brave and try the cinnamon yogurt with trail mix on top! Different yet decadent!
Walking home today, and stuffing my face like a little kid, the sun poked through the clouds and I let it soak into my face. Life somehow seems a little sweeter and less complicated. Thank you Bleuet!

We were walking past the store and this lady gestured us in for some samples. :) I've heard of Pinkberry and figured why not give this place a try. We were really stuffed from dinner but the owners generously offered us some samples. I tried the honey yoghurt and bf the plain yoghurt. It was good but somehow it was a lil icy and sour. I'm a yoghurt fan but I thought the texture was slightly off.
Nice interior design, all white and clean. I would say it's a 3.5 but I support independent entreprenuer so it'll be a 4.

I'm located in the SF Bay Area but I was visiting Portland for a wedding and found this gem! We were walking around the area and I was absolutely craving frozen yogurt. Oh sweet! Bleuet!
Their frozen yogurt is authentic and organic possessing the tang that real yogurt should have. As previously mentioned in comes in three flavors: plain, honey, and cinnamon. They have a variety of fresh fruit toppings and nuts that you can add to make your eating experience more fulfilling.
I got the honey with Mission fig and it was fantastic. Probably the most authentic frozen yogurt I've ever had. Why? Because it's real! None of the premixed stuff that's meant to taste like ice cream without the calories. It's the real deal!
If you're unfamiliar with what real yogurt should taste like, then it'll be different. If you don't like it, get a more sophisticated palate...
