The Blazin' M Ranch is so hokey I couldn't help but like it.
Before the show starts, you get the opportunity to wander around stores and try out some cowboy activities in the mini-town surrounding the barn.
I tried my hand at roping and after about 10 attempts finally caught me a steer. I also shot a gun for the first time and scared some people at my table when they saw my target paper. The stores are on the expensive side, so we didn't buy anything, but we did take lots of pictures and had fun browsing. There's also a petting zoo in the back, though the animals kind of scared me. Yes, I admit I'm a city girl.
The show itself was funnier than I thought it would be. We were in town for my parent's anniversary and they were recognized and given free ice cream for the occasion. You can tell the place is family owned. We shared a table with a large group of regulars, who it turns out knew the owners. They gave us a lot of inside info, which made us like the place even more.
The food was slightly better than average, though not great. However, you do get to eat as much as you want, which is awesome. The meal included beans, chicken, beef, cake, coleslaw and of course, the flying biscuit. Although, as my mom proved, if you can't catch it on the second try they will just hand it to you.
As I mentioned before, I'm a city girl. It was amazing to meet so many people from the midwest in the audience. It was kind of intimidating actually, since we were the ONLY non-white people in the entire place. We sat next to a couple from Oklahoma. The lady told me how to make the best homemade biscuits and talked about how she grew up with real cowboys.
The entire experience was full of down-to-earth people who were there to eat and have a good time. I would definitely recommend going out to the Blazin M Ranch as part of your Sedona (or other local area) vacation!

Surprisingly, we were told to skip this place. We're glad we didn't. Although a little on the pricey side, the food was fantastic, and the entertainment was just as good.
When you get to the ranch, there's stuff to do before dinner. You can browse through the small shops, walk through the (albeit small) animal area, and learn how to rope your own cattle.
Dinner starts a little while later, and the buffet style meal was surprisingly good! They were very efficient at serving a large number of people -- something on the order of 6 minutes for 300 people!!! After dinner, the staff puts on a cowboy music show which got our two-year-old up and dancing.
The staff was extremely friendly and there was always someone over to refill your drink just as soon as you finished it. Unfortunately, we had to leave in the middle of the show, so we couldn't give our feedback to the staff before we left. (Special shout-out to "Eugene" who was especially helpful and friendly!!!)
I recommend this for a fun night out.
I personally know the owners of Blazin' M Ranch. They own possibly the most successful local Coldwell Banker Real Estate agency. That aside, Dan Maybery (the "M") is the "clown" of the production (and I suspect the Ghost Rider, though I have no proof, yet!)
Clearly this is a dying form of entertainment, and if you're in the area, do b sure to check out the old Chuck Wagon Show. You won't be disappointed!

We had a great time at the Blazin' M Ranch.
I found it difficult to find the place, it seemed hard to find, but maybe we missed a street. Could not find it using the GPS, trusting that was probably the first mistake. Since nobody else seemed to have trouble follow their directions.
Plan to arrive early, he fun begins at 5:00PM when the gates open and you enter the Old West courtyard. Enjoy the wide variety of Western sights and activities including a pony ride, shooting gallery, train ride, horseshoe pits, a mechanical roping horse, friendly farm animals.
At 6:30PM the dinner bell rings for the all-you-can-eat chuck wagon grub the "barn" served by cowpokes on a tin plate and tin cup. The food was great, I enjoyed seconds (and thirds), they had great selection of cowboy/ranch food, BBQ steak & chicken, beans, biscuits, applesauce & desert. Free iced tea and lemonade are served with dinner, not before, so if you want a drink before, you have to buy it at the bar. They also stopped giving free refills with dinner, so stock up for the show if you might get thirsty.
After dinner, sit back and enjoy the Blazin' M Cowboys, who will amaze with an hour-long Western stage production that includes delightful cowboy music, storytelling, comedy, and some surprises you won't want to miss, especially when they sing the song "Ghost Riders In The Sky".
