Review from Tess M.
Power walk complete and in the mood for a small Madagascar Vanilla (no toppings ever; too many calories), I found this note on Haute's door:
"Sorry...blanc Beverly Hills is closed until further notice. Come see us when we re-open!"
I WILL! I PROMISE! Your absence makes my heart grow fonder!
10-24-10 Addendum (too early to qualify as an update):
Many thanks to Ciara G. who made me aware of this because she checked Yelp and I didn't:
Blanc Haute's Yelp page says:
"Blanc has closed for business. Thank you loyal patrons for an excellent run. We are undergoing a transformation to something completely new! Stand by for updates."
Standing by for sure!Listed in: Gathering Grub

I found out about this fro-yo shop from a review by Bay Area Yelper Lolia S. Her line about this place "These are not your usual fro-yo toppings" really intrigued me and I knew I had to try it. Blanc Haute Yogurt does feature some premium toppings like truffles, figs and Valrhona chocolate.
Blanc Haute Yogurt is not a self-serve shop. They charge by the size and by the topping. It is more expensive than most frozen yogurt places, but it is not outrageously expensive.
In terms of flavors, they had a small but nice sounding selection including chocolate mousse and Madagascar vanilla. I was surprised that I ended up more impressed with their frozen yogurt than their premium toppings.
The Madagascar vanilla was very smooth and creamy. The texture was nice (not soft) and the vanilla flavor was very good and easily one of the better vanilla frozen yogurts I can remember having. There was definitely something about the texture and the flavor because (for me at least) this was the closest frozen yogurt has gotten to ice cream.
The chocolate mousse flavor was okay. It was light and more of a milk chocolate flavor. I tend to prefer a richer chocolate flavor in my frozen yogurt/ice cream.
Of the toppings I had, I liked the figs the best. I tried some of their nice looking cherries (real color; not those maraschino cherries). Unfortunately, the cherries were kept in a very strong syrup/liqueur, which really overwhelmed the frozen yogurt. I love desserts made with Valrhona chocolate, but I did not care for the Valrhona chocolate here. It was a little dry (maybe it had been sitting around too long or maybe Valrhona chocolate is better to bake with than eat by itself).
Service was good and friendly. The shop is pretty nice looking with a very sleek minimalist decor.
Blanc Haute Yogurt is at a good location on Beverly Drive. There are a lot of quick eateries nearby, which makes Blanc Haute a good stop after a meal. I will definitely come back and try more of their flavors. I may give some of their other toppings a shot, but fortunately their frozen yogurt was good enough that you can skip the toppings (unlike many other frozen yogurt shops).
Parking can be tough to find on Beverly Drive because nearby residential parking is by permit only. There are parking spots by meter, a few paid lots and a small parking structure that is free for the first hour or so (during the day).Listed in: Found On Yelp

Fro-yo girl here. Haute yogurt in Beverly Hills - love the concept and the look of the shop. It's almost completely white with red Magis chairs (very stylish). It's not self-serve (yay). Some of the flavors sound really interesting/good (e.g., crème brulee, alpine elderflower, lemon chiffon cake) and they're mostly sweet.
These are not your usual fro-yo toppings. They had truffles, fresh organic fruit, pound cake, coconut cake, caramelized pecans and more...but no mochi balls. There are several types of gourmet chocolate toppings. Premium toppings are 80 cents and regular toppings are 40 cents.
Fro-yo flavors of the day:
* Chocolate mousse
* Chai tea latte
* Passionfruit peach: sweet, creamy and peachy, not very tangy
* Madagascar vanilla: velvety, smooth, creamy, nice texture, and also good with the crunchy almond biscotti topping I chose
Prices: Mini ($2.75)/ Petite ($4)/ Moyen ($5)/ Grande ($6)/ Pints ($6)
I found that the toppings stand out more than the fro-yo, though the fro-yo is good.
Fro-yo is half off on weekdays from 4 to 6 PM.
You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl. -

I have been wanting to try this hoity toity froyo place since reading photo compliment bomber Tess M. review sometime back. I had no clue it was even there until I read Tess's review! And to think that I passed it on every past Paulette visit. Humph.
Lucy Y and I skipped across the street after a visit to Paulette so I could finally give blanc haute a try. With only 4 flavors to choose from it didn't take long for me to decide on the Peach Passion Fruit Tart. Hello pretty much all my favs in one froyo flavor = score!
I of course tried it first just to be safe but as expected it was froyo perfection. Sweet, tangy, tart and my froyo stayed intact- no melty froyo here.
I topped my mini froyo with beautiful black mission figs. I saw Sweet Italian cherries as a topping choice and said "pile those on!" But the super kind guy (I think it was the owner) replied "you should try them first as they are super sweet". With a tooth-picked cherry in hand already I tried it and oh my goodness it was the sweetest tartest cheery ever! Needless to say I passed on them. Good but they would have overpowered my froyo.
Price was pricey but what do you expect being I'm BH9er and all. Froyo is organic, toppings are high class and service was top notch. I will be returning soon for their froyo HH and will add it to my after Paulette's stop from now on.Listed in: Froyo Yo!

YUM!!!!!
Their unique flavors are amazing, as well as their high-end toppings. There's the typical fruits and nuts, but they have special ones like chocolate beads from France. I sampled their creme brulee and chai tea latte. Both were delicious, but I decided on chai tea with some of those delectable chocolate beads on top. The extra small was more than enough, and the combination of flavors was so good!! My man had the raspberry pomegranate with strawberry. The place is really cute, very modern and just off the beaten path of Beverly. They have a good happy hour special during the week too, 50% off!!
oh, and the service is awesome. Super friendly + super helpful + super cute!Listed in: my absolute FAVORITES in and…

CREAMY. SMOOTH. DELIGHTFUL HIGH-END YOGURT AT LOW-END PRICES. ORGANIC OPTIONS. CHIC TOPPINGS. CELEBRITY HOTSPOT (WHO CARES?).
Finally, a real yogurt shop that delivers in the most plastic city in the world: Beverly Hills!
I've been here several times and let me just make it clear, this isn't your ordinary yogurt stop. Following in the footsteps of Pinkberry but adding a "haute" twist, this little joint still keeps to old-fashioned customer service where they serve you your yogurt and actually talk to you!
They usually have four flavors and two are 100% USDA certified organic! Organic frozen yogurt? Why has no other yogurt place thought of this? Hello, Yogurt Stop? Are you listening, Yogurtland? Organic, if you didn't know, is the way to go, unless you enjoy ingesting chemicals that have been shown to increase the risk of eczema, other allergies, human fertility problems and cancers.
Besides from their organic options, none of their yogurts contain high fructose corn syrup! Last time I checked, that kind of sugar is one of the most damaging sweeteners for you, not to mention that cancer cells love it: http://www.reuters.com...
All their flavors are pretty heavenly tasting but my favorite is the Chai Tea Latte with strawberries, blueberries, and maybe a truffle or two on top. They have a chic selection of toppings and from what I was told, many of them are actually flown in from Europe.
And they have happy hour! On weekdays, from 4 pm to 6 pm, all yogurt is 50% off. On top of that, they also have a frequent buyer program where you get a $15 gift card after you purchase 20 yogurts. What more could you ask for? A toyfriend?
Oh, and a birdie tells me celebs such as Tyra "you can kiss my fat ass" Banks and Gwen Stefani are regulars here (like you care, right?).
Lastly, if you didn't know, I am a proud gay male and to my divine delight, the owner of this fancy little yogurt shop is one as well! So if you are gay or even if you're perfectly straight, please support your fellow gay-owned businesses like this one.
Once you go haute, I promise you won't look back! -

After Pinkberry, there was Yogurtland, Red Mango, all the way to Fro Play (no I'm totally serious). Thinking that frozen yogurt had pretty much jumped the shark, when I heard about Blanc back in 2009 I didn't pay much attention even though it touted being a "premium" yogurt, organic, etc with "premium toppings". It wasn't until I finally went to their summer launch party did I find out - it really is an upgraded, sophisticated version of froyo.
Blanc offers four flavors everyday, at least half of which would be 100% organic, and none of which uses high fructose corn syrup. The owner and founder, Leo Leonard, personally works on the recipes with the dairy factory who makes them in small batches.
You can find the usual fruit topping suspects (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, mangoes) except that everything is organic and looks fresher and plumper than anything I've seen at Pinkberry or Yogurtland recently. They don't even peel and cut the bananas until you order them here.
On the not-so-expected side: black mission figs! And juicy amarena cherries (these are amazing with the vanilla) along with chocolate-dipped truffle-stuffed figs, Rabitos. Not into fruits? Top your creme brulee yogurt with Valrhona chocolate pearls, truffles imported from Spain, or organic carrot cake made by a local baker.
Some of the rotating flavors you can find here include creme brulee, chai tea latte, organic peach passionfruit, and of course organic vanilla and some sort of chocolate. There's no tart flavor in their vanilla, unlike Pinkberry's plain, because apparently that tartness comes from the addition of citric acid. If you want tart, get the peach passionfruit.
In about a month or so they will be rolling out the "crepe flute". Forget waffle cones, this crepe flute is crisp and more delicately crumbly than thick waffle cones. It complements the vanilla yogurt very very well.
The prices here are a little more expensive than, say, Yogurtland, where the small yogurt is $4 and each topping is $0.40 but the higher quality of the yogurt and especially the toppings shows, and is worth it.

4.5!
I've been wanting to try Blanc Haute, and I finally got to... not once but twice in a week!
I really like the interior. It's super simple and chic. You can choose from 1 of 3 sizes starting from $4, and whether or not you want toppings for an extra $1.50. And the toppings are organic and imported. (They even have imported truffles that melt in your mouth.)
I came on Friday wanting to try the tiramisu flavor (since I love tiramisu), but they didn't have it! (They rotate their flavors.)
So instead, my friend and I got the lemon chiffon and the creme brulee yogurt. They were delicious! The yogurt was more creamy and rich than other typical froyo places, but still light and less dense than regular ice cream. The lemon chiffon was sweet but it still had a light lemon tang that wasn't overpowering. The creme brulee was good too, but I definitely liked the lemon chiffon better.
They had the tiramisu today, so I went back with my friend, and this time we got that and the pomegranate blueberry. Mmm, the tiramisu was good but it didn't wow me like I hoped. It tasted kind of like coffee ice cream (but better texture), but the pomegranate one was a pleasant surprise. It reminded me of the raspberry tart at Yogurtland, except this kind of melted in my mouth. So good! I'd rank this one up there with the lemon chiffon, but this was more tart, which I personally really like, but if you're looking for something sweeter and creamier, don't get this one.
Although I still love my Yogurtland, I am definitely a fan! (And random fact - although it's pricey, there's no tax!)Listed in: The Sweet Life

I found this place by accident when my husband and I were looking for Paulette (which is located across from this place). When we got there, it was after 4p.m, and it was 50%off!! We've got Peach-passion fruit and Pomegranate-blueberry. They are really creamy, smooth, and don't taste artificial at all like some other fro-yo places.

Review from Ron N.
I found a $20 worth of yogurt for $10 coupon from http://groupon.com and decided to try it out today on my lunch break. I was a bit skeptical prior to coming here because it's located in Beverly Hills, the part of L.A. that only offers high quality, top of the line kind of stuff.
I really didn't think it'd taste that good until I tried a sample of their crème brulée and realized that the quality of the yogurt was superb! So rich and oh so good. The caramelized pecan topping was seriously effing yummy. I went back to work and let one of my co-workers have a sample and she said verbatim, "This is the best yogurt I've ever had in my life." Funny because when I bought it, this one dude in front of me said the same exact thing. I'm still a fan of Yogurtland and Pinkberry, but it's great to add a 3rd choice to my top favorite fro-yo places to visit.
With about $14 left on my card you bet your bottom dollar I'll be coming back. Not just because I have no choice, but because it's really good! Great job, Leo! -

LA is overrun with frozen yogurt. Let's be honest.
What sets Blanc apart is their ingredients: 100% organic goodness. That and what they claim are ingredients imported from Europe. That second part seems a little ridiculous and counter productive to the green movement, but this is Beverly Hills. Imports are king, why should frozen yogurt be an exception. And with this elitism, Blanc was born.
I was riding past this new joint on my bike only to find a kind gentleman handing out samples. I tried the Chai Spiced Latte and the Pomegranate. Unlike many local yogurtariums, Blanc serves their Pomegranate sweet, which is wise considering anybody who has consumed one knows that they aren't very tart...
Both flavors were quite good. Unfortunately, I have been conditioned that the only way to pay for yogurt is by the ounce and by my own hand. They offer three sizes at $4, $5, and $6 a cup. You have the option of adding up to four toppings for one price $1, $1.50, and $2 respectively. This is a surprising move. I admire the four toppings rule and will most likely find myself waiting in what will hopefully be a long line in the near future.
Oh, just one more example of their "high class" nature: the sample cups aren't the typical paper variety, these were in plastic shot glasses ...pushing these guys even further from eco-friendly :( -

We live in the neighborhood, two blocks away and it's become a regular spot. I adore the pomegranate blueberry (half yogurt half sorbet)... and so does my son. My husband loves the vanilla with chocolate and white chocolate toppings.
They have a fantastic happy hour pricing for those of you who complained about the prices as well as a frequent buyer program. After 20 yogurts you get a $15 gift card!!! (That's almost four free small yogurts for me!)
The service is absolutely phenomenal, as I have met five different people who work there. They are all so very friendly and extremely patient (as it seems that everyone wants to sample every flavor, which I don't blame them...they are all amazing flavors.) The storefront is kept clean and crisp white.
There IS seating, only it's sparse. What can you expect from a tiny yogurt shop. They offer two seats outside, two low seats inside and two or three tall bar seats inside. I find that more than enough as of now.
I absolutely recommend this location to all of my friends and our friends who visit us from our old home of Orange County. It's by far my favorite indulgence.Listed in: yum, sweets for my sweet (that…

Review from Ann C.
Wow. I honestly was entirely surprised--pleasantly surprised--with Blanc Haute. It's creamy and rich--like gelato--and not too sweet. Everything about this place oozes elegance--from the decor, to the imported French truffles they offer as toppings.
I came in with a Groupon ($10 for $20--sweet!) and the girl working there was so nice and amiable. I sampled the creme brulee, chocolate mousse, and the vanilla. And then I chose half creme brulee and half vanilla--which was a perfect combo in my opinion because the vanilla kind of "calmed" the creme, making for a delicious caramely-vanilla compliment to my chocolate truffle topping.
Can't say that I was impressed with the chocolate mousse however--it was bland, airy, and not at all chocolatey enough--I'm a dark chocoholic through and through. BUT I think there's promise of a dark chocolate yogurt coming, and until then, the vanilla and creme brulee leave nothing to be desired. Yum. -
Review from Lisa S.
This is not your typical fro-yo. Blanc is more like a cross between yogurt and gelato, offering a smooth, rich texture that feels more decadent than healthy (although it still is!).
Whenever I find myself wandering into a yogurt shop, I usually go for the plain with a bunch of fruit toppings. At Blanc, I found myself savoring a delicious Madagascar vanilla flavor, topped with sinfully exquisite toppings like chocolate truffles, cherries, fresh pears and white sponge cake from the local bakery down the street. All their toppings are top-notch, imported, and organic. Plus, they let you sample them before throwing them on your selection! I've never seen this at any other establishment. The samples are generous, and the staff and owner are friendly and accommodating. It was a delightful experience. Unfortunately, I had a gigantic lunch, so I was only able to ingest a small size. Fortunately, that forces me to return to have more!
If you're looking for tart, icy yogurt, then this might not be the place for you. However, if you want dessert, like REAL dessert, a yogurt that will skimp on nothing but the calories, yogurt that will kick ice cream's @$$ and even give gelato a run for its money, then head on over to Blanc, because you WON'T be disappointed! :) -

Their flavors are delicious! You have to get the creme brulee and the lemon chiffon cake! Amazing...
This is an indulgence, not as "guilt-free" as Pinkberry or Red Mango plus it's more expensive but it is SO WORTH IT. -
Review from Frances L.

Four stars because of their delicious limited flavors (that rotate every few weeks) as well as their out-of-this-world toppings. This is not the frozen yogurt place for the weak of heart. This is also not the frozen yogurt place for those trying to top their desserts with fruity pebbles or other run of the mill toppings. Blanc Haute is for the ultimate sweet-toothers.
I came in a few weeks ago because of a Groupon I had gotten and I will surely be returning to Blanc Haute this summer to explore their newest flavors at their super reasonable prices. Unlike most yogurt joints, Blanc Haute does not charge by weight, but by size and # of toppings. You can start your base off with a very inexpensive cup of gourmet-quality yogurt such as creme brulee or lemon chiffon, then add up to 3 toppings for only $1.25.
Toppings vary from the traditional fruit and nut combination but also venture into the exotic with agave nectar, European truffles, decadent chocolate filled figs, and even coconut cake. Ingredients are fresh and are based on availability, but just a cup of plain froyo is equally as satisfying.
While Blanc Haute has made advances in the wonderful trend of frozen yogurt, they do not have any tables or chairs for you to enjoy your dessert on the premises, so make plans to go for a walk around Beverly Hills or to take it else where. -
Review from Amanda E.
I consider myself a yogurt connoisseur, so when I got a Groupon for this place, I figured it was just another decent deal I'd use in time.
I spent nearly my entire $20 yogurt budget with a friend at Blanc Haute and would do the same again and again!
Truth is, the place ain't cheap - a large will run you $7.50 with a topping - but the quality is worth twice the price. I savored all four flavors with complimentary samples; decided on the unbeatable Creme Brulee (although the Raspberry Chocolate "coming soon" is enough to bring me back ASAP!).
The topping choices were out of this world - instead of facing a case of soggy blueberries (a la Pinkberry) or unidentifiable Japanese candies (a la Yogurtland), I was served a straight-up gourmet selection of dark chocolate truffles, chocolate-dipped figs, moist lemon cake, candied pecans, and intriguing white raspberries. The topping bar was mind-blowing.
Long story short - I've been around the block on L.A. yogurt joints, and this one is the STK to the McDonald's crowding up the market. -

This new frozen yogurt shop is actually very different than all the other ones around LA. They've paid a lot of attention to detail from the design of the shop to all-organic toppings. I tried each of their 4 flavors and you can tell their yogurt is high quality.
I loved the chai flavor, complemented by Valrhona chocolates. They also have some cool Italian chairs for you to chill on while you eat your yogurt. -

i mean--its pretty good, what do you want me to say? there's only so many cool, new, conceptual things you can do with the oldest, most standard type of place (frozen yogurt in los angeles! woo!)
the creme brulee is ridiculously good--the chocolate and vanilla taste...the same (as each other--and that flavor is "ice" flavored--is that not a problem?)
bottom line: good for quick fix, unique toppings, place always looks closed (I think it's their ultra "hip" lighting...to not have any) and--hey--for all I know it probably is when I drive by, I think they close at 8 during the week so its obviously not an after-dinner spot -

Well I was about to give up on this place bc I tried 3 times to try it but they were always closed. They have early hours, which I honestly think they need to extend. Other than that I thought the yogurt was delish! Super duper creamy- almost like gelato. I also really enjoyed all their toppings- biscotti, truffles, toasted coconut, dark chocolate bar, etc. I will def go back. This is a nice alternative on the days on want something more rich than Pink Berry- it is a good addition to S Beverly.

Buena Park, CA
This place is pretty expensive: $4 for a small and $5 for a medium....$1.50 for up to 4 toppings. I got a medium to share with a friend, and it was enough for the both of us. However, I have to say that the quality tasted much better than what I am used to getting at Yogurtland, etc. I sampled the Pomegranate Blueberry and Creme Brulee. Both were very good, but I ended up going with the Pomegranate Blueberry. It was not tart nor was it too sweet and left no aftertaste in my mouth at all. It was very creamy, almost like ice cream but not quite. They are a bit hard to find as they are located on a small side street off of Beverly, south of Wilshire, but they have a small sidewalk sign that you can see (if you're looking for it). The yogurt doesn't need any toppings, but they did have some interesting ones, like chocolate from Spain, etc. Hopefully they'll stay in business until I use up my gift card!

I live across the street from this place, and it's getting dangerous! I just discovered their yogurt happy hour: M-F, 4-6pm, half priced yogurt! can't beat that. The Creme Brulee and Madagascar Vanilla are my favorites - I only wish they had the vanilla everyday (Creme Brulee always seems to be there)! The yogurt is sooo creamy and delicious...wish I had some now!
