Neighborhoods: Alphabet District, NorthwestThey've got great jeans and very cool jackets from small companies. Nice Collective is among my favorites of the brands they carry. The stuff is expensive, but honestly if you were in the same store in san francisco you'd pay twice as much. The people are friendly and know what they're talking about, and always happy to help find stuff or give opinions.

A cool little shop to check out in Portland. I've actually been here several times although i live in So Cal. Everytime I've been there Blake is at the counter. A much better shopping experience than abercrombie.

I am pretty heavy into Japanese denim (ala superfuture) so most of the brands don't excite me that much...but the store/staff is simply outstanding. Blake comes across as one of the nicest people I have ever met and will absolutely bend over backwards to help you. I think my next pair might be some KMW's so this will be the first place I go for sure.
Really cool place. They know there denim. The shopping experience at an independent business is so much better than these silly department stores.

FANTASTIC store. i came in here looking get some high-end jeans that look great on me, despite the fact that i have no clue about high-end denim, and did not leave disappointed.
blake himself did most of the suggestions on jeans, assisted by the really cute salesgirl, and was really friendly and patient. i ended up leaving with 2 pairs of jeans, plus some good-looking t-shirts from their sale rack. there wasn't any pushiness to buy that much stuff, but their selection was great, and i know when it's a good time to stock up.
the best denim store i've been to, even preferable to A.B. Fits in my old hometown of San Francisco. blake rocks!

I was looking for nice Nudie jeans and informal winter jackets. Blake is just few blocks away from my apartment so I stopped by every once in a while to check out their stock of goodies. Blake is own by this guy name... Blake. He definitely has good taste and very helpful, but its too bad they don't have a lot of designers I was looking for. Such as APC, Paul Smith, Band of Outsiders, or Jil Sanders. I did get a nice OBEY jacket. It is also a very expensive store carrying nice handmade US and UK apparels. Such as B.Son and Nice. I wish there are more stores like Blake in Portland.

Fan-freakin'-tastic sale rack! I scored an adorably flattering button-down Ben Sherman shirt for $20! And no sales tax, people! Okay, I'll save that for my review of the State of Oregon.
This place is clean, bright, and easy to navigate. It's not jam packed with tons of crap. Salespeople were the perfect balance of friendly and not pushy. They have men's stuff too...even husband found a nice shirt here.

So close to five stars. That last one is missing cause the prices are a wee high for Portland, but competitive with 23rd shopping.
Probably the greatest selection of jeans in Portland. Also carry other clothes and accessories.
The best part is that Blake himself is usually in the store. Eye candy: yup. Easy to talk with: check. Knows more about denim than anyone I've ever met (and I used to work in apparel): certainly.
He's my hero.

I found my very favorite pair of jeans here, along with some other cute things. They have a great denim selection, and it's in a very charming part of town. The only criticism is that they could do more with the use of their space. It has beautiful open windows and hard wood floors, but their attempt at less-is-more comes across as incomplete and thrown together. Either way, they have great stuff, so that's really all you're there for anyway.
