Stores like this make me reconsider my decision never to have children. Then I hear one screaming, and I snap out of it.
ANYWAY, this store is pretty freaking adorable. They have a huge selection of the cutest onesies, t-shirts, and other baby "apparel" that's totally hip and trendy. It's not the cheapest, but it's also high quality, so you get what you pay for.
My favorite thing about the store was their book collection. OMG. Adorable! My favorite were books by Amy Wilson Sanger, all about international foods, but picture, cardboardy books for kids. My favorites- "Yum Yum Dim Sum", "Chaat and Sweets", and "First Book of Sushi".

Black Wagon is a painfully cute place! I wish my son cared one iota about clothing, didn't grow an inch a day and was a child star making me big bucks because if all that wishin' came true I would shop here! The staff is lovely, the art is delicate and tasteful and we all know the Mississippi 'hood is rad! I'm glad Black Wagon exists, if only so everyone else in this town can have rockin' lookin' kids!

Black Wagon has been an online retailer for awhile, providing adorable edgy clothing for the hippest of hip kids. Only recently have they opened their "flagship" store on North Mississippi, and now the neighborhood children will get even cooler.
This kid boutique is for those adorable Portland kids whose parents outfit them in locally made and desgined clothing with cute silkscreen designs. Picture your three year old in a Che Guevara shirt.
They sell shoes, clothes, accessories, and a handful of toys, but their online selection is even more expansive!

Sort of like that feeling you get when you see tall, wiry fully sleeved dudes walking down the street with the cutest equally tattooed lady & baby combo -- little hip family --- and you think that maybe it is not so conventional, terrible, spirit sucking, life- ending to propagate afterall. This store has acceptable clothes for kids. Because that is sort of the deal with having kids- you kind of have to keep them with you a lot of the time, so they might as well look good. (Represent!)

A place where rock stars buy clothing for their children, or so I've heard. This place has been on-line for quite some time and recently opened their "flagship" store in the Mississippi district. There are other children's boutiques around town, but this one has something special. Perhaps the great selection of little lark tees or maybe the black pirate hoodies. I personally love the Paul Frank cords I just bought. Friendly customer service and a play area for the little ones makes for a pleasant shopping experience.
