Blk/Mrkt is a pretty sweet little gallery that always has great shows. The best part about this gallery is that about once every two months, they have an opening party with free drinks (don't forget to tip your bartender). There's always a large, interesting crowd and it's a great place to drink some beers and look at some art. They also have the coolest bathroom sink you've ever seen.

A little modernist box of a gallery along Washington Blvd, houses the coolest artists.
The GALLERY: clad in rusted patina'd steel panels, w/ wood rainscreen, frameless storefront windows, and accessorized by a statue of a hooded guy in sneakers sitting at the edge of the parapet / roof. The interiors are minimal; with standard white exhibit walls floating above stained / polished concrete floors, and culminating to a well-detailed checkout counter in fin-ply wood and dark steel.
The LATEST EXHIBITION: Mike Stilkey's miserable and lamentatious life forms are so engaging, that one is provoked to feeling passion or anger. His drawings / paintings are cartoonish, silly, whimsical, almost childish, but composed in a mature fashion..."beautiful, pensive, poignant, erotic, and brutal". His Gorey-like men and women, bearing cadaverous, pallid features, pronounce opiate gazes, with a lingering sense of bereavement and emotional upheaval, drawing the observer into its own self-realization.
