If you're looking to steal away from the crazy tourist shopping district that is Manitou Springs, this is the perfect place. It's a wonderful used book store hidden among some of the blander tschotschkie shops. The owner doesn't hover and totally approves of bringing drinks into the the shop. Take the rickety old staircase downstairs and discover the perfect reading room: two window nooks with pillow, a sofa chair, a desk, and a fireplace. Not a huge selection but a very good mix of used and new titles.
Prices are decent; however, it is still beyond me why people would pay top dollar for books when you've got the library, half dot com, and book swaps. I'll get off my soapbox now.

Very cute little independently owned bookstore in Manitou Springs. Also doubles as a wine bar! Grab a cup of coffee or tea (free) and wonder through this quaint book lovers delight!
