BJ's is a fun place to go when you want to have happy hour you can have pizza beer side orders.
I ordered a medium pizza with mushrooms pepperoni onion Green pepper ground sausage and extra extra cheese.
I had two pale ale beers and a side of chicken wings.
This was so good I will definitely come back yummy in my tummy uncle Tommy.
PS: The service was very good also. -

So the boyfriend and i were starving...and he suggested going to BJ's although we were originally in rowland heights, i suggested going to the brea location because we had to return something at the brea mall.
So we went there...and man was it pretty good!! :) Just like any BJ's it was nice because of the lunch specials...the boyfriend and i both ordered the tropical iced tea...SUPER GREAT...especially if you like the that type of iced tea...(unsweetened!)
I also ordered the never ending soup and salad combo for i think $8? the boyfriend ordered some weird chicken over rice dish...his was good he said? i didn't try any!
All in all my food was great...i had clam chowder first...it was super heavy and some caesar salad...then my next order was a house salad with light italian (horrible choice of salad dressing) and then i ordered a tiny cup of minestrone soup.
The boyfriend ate all his food..and the only thing i have to complain about was they messed up my order...in the sense that the guy charged me for a dinner plate not the lunch special which was quickly rectified so it wasn't that big of an issue.
So, it's a great place to eat lunch! -

I love BJ's Restaurant and I don't come nearly enough.
I love their cheeseburger and their caesar salad, but most of all, I love their pezookis!
I brought a friend from out of town here to try their beer sampler and food, she left absolutely ranting and raving about BJs and she wished there was one in our hometown.
BJs has always provided consistent customer service and food. Their prices are moderate, their portions are reasonable and they have an excellent selection of beers and food.
There's sometimes a long wait here (Thursday + weekends), but it's totally worth it. -

The portion is very big, especially the burgers.
I love the buffalo chiken wings. other dishes are ok. -

Did you know that this where BJ's first started brewing their beer?
The laws changed in California where you cannot buy beer in a growler http://en.wikipedia.or... unless it is brewed in the facility. Hence, a drive to get our Grand Cru to enjoy on Christmas Day in a growler!
We arrived at BJ's at 10:30 in the morning on Christmas eve. And we just HAD to make sure the Grand Cru here was up to our standard so, we ordered a glass!
It is 5 pm somewhere in the world right? wink, wink.
It did not disappoint and we just HAD to order a BJ's favorite pizza, which did not disappoint again!
Whew, it is hard work to try various places and edible delights to educate our fellow Yelpers! LOL
Service - 5 Stars - Emily was informative, patient and so sweet
Food and beer - 5 Stars
Ambiance - 4 Stars - nice, but I prefer the Laguna Hills restaurant a little more.Listed in: Comfort food, Local Flavor

I used to absolutely love BJ's, but I think their menu changes have just pushed me away. My favorite dish is no longer on the menu, and I can't seem to find anything I liked as much as that one. No replacement = no returning.
What I will say is that their beer is good, their drinks are good, and so is the cider. Nice flavors and it's cool knowing they make it themselves. They also make their own Root Beer, Cream Soda, and Orange Soda, so I would recommend trying those out.
I feel like the service here gets worse and worse, and so many waiters and waitresses haven't eaten many of the items on the menu... isn't that a basic rule? If someone asks you about something on the menu, you're supposed to be able to answer.
This place's saving grace? Pizookie. Try it, love it.Listed in: My Playground

4.5 Stars for me.
Try the Black Cherry Soda. It really feels like your drinking a fresh cherry...that the best way I can describe it. We order two Clam Chowder bread bowls. They toast the top shell of the bread with Garlic butter and the clam chowder is soo creamy! You also get big pieces of clam in the chowder and not little sprinkles like other places. We also ordered a Peperoni, Extra Cheese and Jalapeno Mini pizza...it was good...but still not the best I have tasted. To finished we shared a Double Chunk Pazooki. The cookie was so moist and mixed well with the ice cream.
I liked that the waiters help each other in this restaurant. When we were low on drinks we had 2 other waiters OFFER to bring is refills! That's customer service at its finest. :) -

Santa Ana, CA
I've been to this location time and time again, but lately (past year) I've seen it get progressively worse. Within the last year I have been to this location about six times and each time I left unsatisfied. I typically get the pizzas because they are usually delicious, crispy on the outside, moist on the inside. Lately, whenever I get the pizzas they either have very little toppings on them, almost as if I'm eating a cheese pizza or they are dry and warm on the verge of room temperature.
I actually just went there tonight, and my pizza was as described above. My girlfriend ordered the seared ahi salad, substituted with raw ahi poke tuna rather than seared and received what was expected, however the tuna was old, dry and very pale in color.
Now as for the service. The execution of customer service was on the verge of minimal standards. We sat at the bar tables, took us almost 20 minutes before even being asked for drinks. I ordered the hand crafted root beer which by quality standards of other BJ's that I have been to typically comes in a nice frosty mug, this time it came in a room temperature mug and no ice. However, when she refilled it, it came in a nice frosty mug and very cold. When receiving my dish I was not offered or given Parmesan and crushed pepper for my pizza. I had already been through my first slice when the waitress was collecting dishes from the table behind me, grabbed the cheese and pepper from the table then offered it to me. I may be going a little extreme about this part but it rubbed me the wrong way. Then as we were barely half way through our dishes the waitress came and asked if we wanted dessert we declined and she decided to leave the check for us. A little prematurely in my opinion, but maybe that's just me. We finished eating, she took my card and when she came back, placed the check, and said the usually "thanks and have a good night" etc, but she said it as she was walking away without making any eye contact.
Maybe I'm expecting too much or maybe I'm just used to the service I get at the other BJ's. BJ's isn't a bad place, i love the Harvest Hef, pizzas and pazookies, but this location just does not cut it for me. I would rather drive the extra miles to go to the Huntington Beach location off the 405, that place has never steered me wrong. I have been to that one every Tuesday night for the past 4 months. -

We have been to a few BJ's in Florida so we were glad to see this chain pop up on our Yelp radar when we were staying in the Anaheim area last weekend.
The food was good (shared a pizza and avocado eggrolls) but the service was so-so...seemed like they really wanted to turn over our table. Good thing Yogurtland was nearby so we could actually feel comfortable about chatting and socializing somewhere! -

Orange, CA
I've been to this place about 3 or 4 times now, and my star rating is in between 3 or 4. But I'm a nice guy and I give it 4. :P
The staff and service is always quick and prompt. I ate here yesterday and we had a really big party. Around 15 or 18 I think? Each time we were running low on drinks they were always fast to refill em' up without us even asking. We had a lot of people come in late but the waiters were really good about it and they knew which people just walked in and everything. The only thing that was a bit odd was that the waiters weren't as friendly as usual. They seemed very "business-bee" and they were like, "What do you want? Do do you want soup or salad on the side? Okay." And they were off. But that doesn't bother me too much.
The food experience will differ however. They have a very very large menu for a restaurant. I don't think I've come across a menu that large before. Its 14 pages long! My goodness! Its so hard to pick something because there's so many damn things! I spent 10 minutes figuring out what to get. Normally their pizzas are always on the mark. Its always hot and full of flavor. The bread and crust were AMAZING. It wasn't too soft and it wasn't too hard. It just had the right amount of bite to it. And no matter which pizza you get, based on what I've had, I'm confident that they'll satisfy you. Some of their other things are okay. Like their New Orleans Jambalaya, that was not what I expected to be. It was definitely under seasoned and it was missing that spicy kick to it. It tasted very meh, too much of tomatoes. Definitely needed more paprika and cayenne. It was not worth $15. I also tried their balsamic glazed chicken, that wasn't bad either. The chicken definitely need more salt and pepper, but that's what the salt and pepper shakers are for. It also definitely needed some more of that balsamic glaze. It was a small amount of sauce they put with it! As for their pazookies, don't even get me started. You will always enjoy the pazookie if you're in the mood for something fattening and sweet.
So in short, food here is good, you will be content with it. Its just that the higher calorie foods taste a lot better. LOL. -

I lOVE BJs... great service and the pizza is always amazing. Drinks are kind of expensive even during happy hour. Parmasian Crusted Chicken is what is up. YOu HAVE TO TRY THAT. OR the blacked chicken potato. Like WOAH.

This place has thee biggest menu I've ever seen. A little bit of everything.. I usually go here for lunch with coworkers and the lunch specials are awesome! I usually get the salad/pizza lunch special.. so filling for only less than 10$. & this isn't a dinky iceburg salad... Way better deal than any fast food. Actually, since I'm talking about it, its making me crave it & I might go there today!!

I came here last night with some girlfriends to enjoy the happy hour. I was pleasantly surprised at how large the bar area was and the amount of available tables. The lighter colored floor also made it feel fresher than the Tustin location.
Our server was fantastic as was the half-priced mini pizzas, cider and pazookie. -
Review from Kris B.
When did the BJ's menu get so huge? Now it's like the Cheesecake Factory, a short novella of edibles. We started with some items from the small bites menu - Artichoke Hearts $3.25 and Gourmet Mac n Cheese $3.95. The Mac came out really soupy and when we pointed it out to our server Tyler, he immediately whisked it away and a new one appeared from the kitchen minutes later. Now that's great customer service!! The second Mac was delicious, thick and cheesy.
Our BJ's Favorite pizza - size medium $20.25 was priced on the high side for what you get. It's not even deep dish! But we ate it happily and took the leftovers to enjoy later that night. All in all, a good meal made better with great customer service! -

I FRIGGIN LOVE BJ's!
But I dislike this one in BREA!
I went here for my Birthday and service was terrible.
They took a long time getting me a menu and my orders.
On top of that I had to find out that they didn't have any more Pizookies!
AND the only thing they were serving that night was just appetizers.
If you plan on coming here. Give them a call first! -

#151 Yet another chain in SoCal, so it's comes with the usual pluses and negatives.
+ Extensive menu
+ Reasonable prices
+ Delicious apps
+ Great crowds
+ Drink specials
- Nothing that stands out
- Weak drinks
- Detached bartenders
- The same crowd over and over again
This particular location is better than most since it's in Brea. But, it's not that much better than, say, Cheesecake Factory. It's our usual to-go location though when we're off to the movies in downtown Brea or if we're supposed to meet up with friends for a night out in Hollywood (we're from the Diamond Bar/Pomona area). -

Placentia, CA
I came here with a friend for lunch. I've said before that I'm not that big a pizza guy as I was before, but I chose here over going to a burger joint which my friend is more apt to go to.
The restaurant, as is most of them in the mall area, was pretty busy for the lunch hour. We didn't have to wait long to be seated or have our order taken. The employees were efficient and nice.
We had the Sweet Pig Pizza, which is basically a Hawaiian Pizza. Before the pizza was brought to our table, the waiter brought us a card to rate the pizza because they were trying something different. I've had the Sweet Pig before, but that was awhile ago and when it was placed on the table and I had my first slice, I honestly can't say if it was any different. What I can say is that it was pretty good. The crust was really good. I liked the way it was rimmed with slightly burnt cheese. The toppings weren't too abundant, but were tasty. My friend liked how the pineapple wasn't overbearing.
Overall a good experience and it was even better when my friend paid for it. -

dont get me wrong, i liked this place, but def not the one in this location.
the one in industry was pretty perfect. First, SLOWWWW SERVICE, waiter was hardly ard when we need anything and we waited for 5 mins and he still didnt come to us, we had to flag down another waitor for help. ordered unlimited soup and salad. can anyone tell me why it took so long for that to be served? caesar salad i believe it is not made on the instant, even if it is, it wont take 10 mins to make one when the place is not even that packed. soup i had clam chowder, damn, i have not tasted any clam chowder this salty.
OVERALL, BAD BAD BAD,really really bad experience this time round.
im certain i wont go to the same location ever again -

Rancho Santa Margarita, CA
I only came for desserts
I came for the pizookie trio and tried the red velvet, cookies and cream, and the triple chocolate. My favorite was the cookies and cream, my brothers favorite was the triple chocolate. Each pizookie was about 4-5 inches across but i know the regular ones are a lot bigger. Each pizookie was topped with a scoop of ice cream and whipped cream. The differences between the three is that the cookies and cream had vanilla ice cream with a cookies and cream whipped cream, the bottom is like a soft oreo cookie. The triple chocolate has chocolate ice cream and a dark chocolate cookie part. The red velved had little white chunks and i couldnt tell if it was white chocolate or nuts but they could have gone without it because it made it chewy.
Service was okay, it took awhile to get the pizookie's out but our server was friendly. -

Nothing too special about this place. Their happy hour is OK..I don't like how their drinks are only $1 off during happy hour. I believe you get $2 off on shared appetizers, which isn't that great either..
I came here with friend during happy hour and ordered 4 drinks and 2 shareable appetizers (the thai? lettuce wraps and sliders; you get 4 each too) total came out to ~$50
There are definitely other places that have better happy hours, which I would rather go to, but this one is convenient since it's right by Brea Mall. There are also a lot of TVs too for sports fans.
If you're coming for a birthday and tell your waiter/waitress they will bring out a pizookie! It comes with a candle too! -

BJ's is a great place to have a nice handcrafted, wonderful beer. The service is decent if you sit at the bar (not the bar area tables, but the proper bar) but if you sit at an actual table be prepared to wait a long time in between refills. The menu is a little too extensive for my liking, too many choices; it's like reading a book when you first sit down. After trying a few things there, I now know what to order without bothering to look at the menu. For lunch the all you can eat soup and salad is fantastic as is the ham and cheese melt with the tomato bisque. Dinner you can't really go wrong with the homemade meatloaf or the fish and chips.
Mostly I go there for the beer, and if it was just based upon that, they would have received five stars from me. The other great thing about this particular BJ's is they have special events a lot here. Scotch tasting for example, where for a small fee you get to sample about six different scotches and sometimes get a complimentary glass from the event, they also do this for different beers that they brew there throughout the year.
The bottom line is BJ's is a nice place to hang out after a long day at work with some good friends and some great beer. Enjoy.Listed in: Best Happy Hour

I've been here about a million gajeelion times which pretty much comes with the territory if you go to school anywhere in the area and I'm always excited to go back because I know this place is solid and I'm gonna have a good time with my buddies.
The berry cider is fantastic! The barbecue chicken pizza with added bacon is my go-to order. The service here is unobtrusive and there isn't any blaring music and so you can laugh it up like a fool and just relax and unwind.
Never had a bad time here and so I know it's a great standby in the area. -
Review from Sara P.
This location is super hit and miss. The last time I went, it was ok. My mom and I were both not that hungry and ended up just getting salad and soup. My daughter got the kids cheese pizza.
All basic stuff, nothing you don't know about already..
What I liked most about this visit was the service. Our waitress was awesome. I have dealt with staff that was rude once they realized that the bill would probably be only twenty bucks, including since we weren't drinking. But she was awesome and chatty. Even super friendly to my daughter. IF our waitress had been rude, it would have knocked it down a star for sure. -

If I could give no star I would.... but I love the beer at BJs so they can keep the one star..... the review is based off this location.
Came here with 5 people. It took them an hour to seat us. People were getting seated before us who had come after us. It took the staff THREE attempts to seat us. They sat us, we told them they are nuts if they think we'll fit there and so they took us back up to the front. a girl said our table was ready (a minute after we got back to the front). She took us right back to the same table.............. we told her that they had tried to seat us here already...... and it wouldn't work...... she had us just stand at the door to the patio (where we were to be seated...) and watched them fumble with the tables and chairs.... finally they had us sit down.... we had two different sized table that weren't even the same height and fitting us at the tables was a joke. We had a pregnant lady in the group who felt like she would pass out if we didn't sit down soon to ea,t so we just took the table as is.
As for the service after the whole seating shenanigans..... very half assed. It was a busy night and BJ's slips up BIG time when it comes to service. They have three or four girls seating people... and like 2 server working the entire patio full of people. We were not there with a group of HS kids who don't care what the food or service is like as long as we can talk about facebook. We were a family of people trying to have a nice dinner. Maybe it's our fault for expecting to have some service with the price associated with the cost of eating at a venue like BJs? -

Went here last week with friends for the first time and... like it!
The service was good, we only waited for around 10 minutes which was not a long time, considering how many people were there for dinner before prom.
The food was also served pretty quickly. I ordered the flatbread pizza and my friends order burgers and pasta. We shared the Strawberry bread thing for dessert and loooved it!
Would definitely come back again, a good experience. -

Brea, CA
They have really great pizza! I also love being able to customize, and that they have corn as an option (I love corn!)
I really love their current lunch menu since you can get a lot of food, for about $6-8 dollars. They also offer half sizes of most of their stuff which is usually too much food to begin with (their baked potatos/flat breads/salads/sandwiches) and have a really large selection (you can choose out of their various salads/sandwiches).
Recommended? Their flat breads, their chili baked potato, chili nachos (can probably split between 4+ people), chicken parmegiana, clam chowder, avocado egg rolls, and oreo pizookie.
I still have yet to try their brunch menu, but hopefully soon!
The service is always pretty good, although it can get really busy at night on the weekends so there will likely be a wait.
One thing I love is that you can actually call in to have your name put down (and ask how long the wait is). (Apparently they have an iPhone app for this now too). Perfect for me since I live close by. -

It's a chain restaurant, but I love BJ's.
We came here for lunch and we ordered the Avocado roll. So darn good! The wrapper is not your typical eggroll wrapper or flour tortilla. It's a little spicy, and it comes with their sweet and sour sauce.
We also ordered the clam chowder - never fails, I always find chunks of clams. Its how a clam chowder should be (or at least how I like it) and not full of potatoes.
The special baked potato is huge - your choice of topping. The seared Ahi and shrimp Thai lettuce wrap - BJ's version of it of course. Dessert never fails...mini Pizookie (no room for a regular one) with white chocolate macadamia topped with vanilla ice cream! -

I've only been to this restaurant once, but it was a great experience. The pizza I ordered was delicious and their P.M. Porter beer was tasty! For dessert, the Pizookie was awesome!
Our server was nice and the food came out pretty quickly. I went around 10 at night, so it wasn't too busy.
I loved their atmosphere and I would definitely come back to this restaurant!! -

Average. Average. Average.
Maybe their beers and drinks are better.
I came here after not being to BJ's since like elementary school so it's been like 10 years. I think I came here when I was like in 6th grade and I got a pizza or something. I don't really remember. So for my birthday lunch with one of my friends, I decided it was good to revisit it.
The drinks looked good, and the menu of drinks was created by various BJ employees so that was pretty cool. We were able to see where they were from and what drink they created. Since I was driving, I thought it was a good idea not to drink. Instead, my friend and I each ordered our dishes and an appetizer to share.
Food:
Spinach Artichoke Dip - It comes with these really good corn tortilla chips. The dip itself was really good too. Warm chips and delicious dip? That's my kind of appetizer.
Half Sandwich and Salad - this is one of their many lunch specials. I decided to go with the California Chicken Sandwich. The sandwich was too oily and buttery for me. The bread was fried and it gave it nice texture for a while, but after a while, it was just soggy. The avocado and chicken were nice. The salad was average, but decent. It also came with french fries - yum. They were amazing or anything, but it's been a while since I've had french fries so they were good.
Overall, I had a decent meal. I guess I'll be back if their happy hour deals are nice. AND to try their dessert. -
Review from Albert L.
The only complaint I have about this restaurant is that parking is always limited during busy hours but I think that's just indicative of the area.
I've always had a good time here, SERVICE has ALWAYS been friendly, and I dig those famous pazookies, deep dish pizzas, and even the pastas they have. If I want to tempt fate I'll get the Berry Cider. ;)
It's definitely not the largest BJ's I've been to (gotta watch that wording) but that kinda gives this particular one a cozier feeling than most. -

I never really had a bad experience here, so I'm happy and they have some really nice waiters at this location, so that's some extra points for them!
anyways, love avocado eggrolls! my roommate got me hooked on them, so now (almost every time) I get them. and honestly, never had a bad food experience here, so no complaints
beer-wise: I like the honey blonde and they have this berry cider which is really delicious (especially good for girls who don't really like beer or beginner-drinkers) -

Today, my best friend and I came by for lunch! We ordered the Best Beginnings appetizer platter and it was amazing! It was huge, with mozarella sticks, avacado eggrolls, etc. It's enough for 3 people to share, therefore, it is the priciest appetizer on the whole menu. Aside from that, we ordered the half thin crust pizza and salad lunch combo. It was small, but enough to satisfy us. I recommend the Tomato Basil and Italian Sausage! After we finished, we ordered the Red Velvet Pizookie. The red velvet cake was a bit uncooked, because we could taste the dough...so asked for another Red Velvet Pizookie, but that one was a little less uncooked. Didn't make much of a difference, but it wasn't all too bad. I suppose we'll try a different Pizookie next time. Service can take a little while...

Review from Nancy T.
I've been coming to this BJ's for years and years and years! It's consistently about the same every time. The service is always just okay and the atmosphere is very loud. I love the great white, sweet pig, and BJ's favorite pizzas - those are probably the best three and most popular ones. The BBQ chicken one is also popular, but it's too sweet for my taste and I think the one at CPK is better.
Their appetizers are all pretty good! I love their potato skins, spinach and artichoke dip, and avocado egg rolls. Unfortunately, they have this new ahi poke that I tried and it was totally gross! Basically just pieces of tuna and chips with nori on them. Uhhh, the name of the dish is actually poke, so I had to ask the waiter where the poke was...and then they had the nerve to bring out soy sauce for me! I was quite indignant by their false advertising!
Nonetheless, I still love this place. The pizzas are always a comfort for me because they're so thick and yummy. I like their sandwiches and salads too. And of course, I LOVE their pizookie! The cookies 'n cream and brownie ones are my favorites! This place is reasonably priced, but if you go for happy hour...it's super cheap! :) Check it out! Just don't get the ahi poke! -
Review from Sarah S.
Yorba Linda, CA
One thing I have to say... be careful of how many drinks you order! The Strawberry Confusion (my favorite) is $9.50 per, and I can easily order two... which will definitely run up your bill.
Food is pretty good, nothing ground breaking and definitely good enough to make me want to return. Salads are HUGE, pizzas are a good amount to eat, balsamic glazed chicken is pretty good (sometimes the chicken can be a little dry), California Chicken Sandwich is good as well. Jambalaya is good but is also around $16!
I think my main complaint is that the food is a little more on the pricey side, but it has a good ambience and has large TVs (and many of them). Can be a little loud so don't go if you want to enjoy the company of your date quietly. It's a more comfortable (and well lit) Cheesecake Factory - good for groups, though the wait can be a little long sometimes.
Beer snobs may not like this place for their brews... I don't drink beer though, and am only repeating the comment that I've heard a few times from a few friends. Most people enjoy the beers here though, so don't let that stop you from trying some.
Even if you're not particularly hungry, be sure to get a pizookie (pizza cookie... served warm from the oven with a scoop of ice cream). Also tried their beignet, it's pretty good, though it's hard for me to pick that over a pizookie. -

A-OK experience! Good location though, since its within walking distance from the Brea Mall, additionally plenty of parking options.
BJs is known for their excellent deep dish pizzas and their well-known handcrafted beers. During this visit, one of their featured beers was a peach flavored beer, which was very tasty. Ordered BJs Favorites (the works - craving sausage) Pizza and Chicken Cesar Salad, which the pizza might have needed slightly more marinara, but otherwise great service. So FULL after the meal therefore, might try their Pizookie Cookies next time, another BJs favorite! -

Brea, CA
I typically will come here to get a drink, some grub, and watch whatever game is on at the time. BJ's is a venue that satisfies all of the above in a slightly above average way, so I can't really complain.
The difference with this Brea location vs. the tons of other ones is that there seems to be more seating both around the bar and also at just the tables... so +1 star above the others for that. The crowd is also is more 'refined' than say, the Montebello location, due to its location in Brea... not to be a socio-economic hater, but I know that is definitely a preference of myself and many others. TV's seem slightly smaller at the bar, but that isn't really an issue.
