We had a late lunch on Tuesday after my sister's bridal fitting. The food was fantastic, especially the lamb chops I had. Robert's service was excellent!!
He even brought out a small prosecco toast to celebrate us finding a wedding dress. Restaurant decor and the experience as a whole was beautiful. Thank you so much!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Niqulas D.Jacksonville, FL01Mar 15, 2024

Lets talk about frites for now
Tempura-ed zucchini sure to please a crowd
Can't stop munching anyhow
Don't be coy, avoid or make void it's gastromic
You're not gonna be able to stop it
Now let's talk bout the special with lamb chops and strawberry sauce flows
At Bistro AIX, anything goes
Pizza oven closed before the kitchen, so disappointing
Craved pizza, so of course, how it would be
Those who think it's early, have no choice
Pick up the menu, new order, be a menu explorer
Will oven off stop us? For sure no

The best part of the meal was the free bread, and my cocktail. I ordered steak frites, medium rare. What I got was steak frites, well done. When I eventually got our waiter's attention (he spent the vast majority of his time at the hostess stand, flirting), I showed him the steak and apologized because I don't like sending things back. He took my plate and a bit later, when my friend had basically finished her meal, brought me a new plate. This meat was less cooked but also full of fat and tendons. A medium rare steak should be pink. This had a grayish hue.... I ate a bit of it and it was ok. No seasoning on the frites or the haricot verts and the sauce was slightly gelatinous.
The restaurant itself is very nice but for the price point, I expect much better food and service. There were a total of 5 other tables in the restaurant the entire time we were there so the poor service was not a result of our waiter being busy. Just more interested in flirting than working.
I will definitely NOT be returning.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Seth M.Ponte Vedra Beach, FL194740Jan 6, 20243 check-ins
First time going was for lunch. For appetizers, we got shrimp cocktail, bang bang shrimp, calamari, and arancini. It was all really good. The bang bang shrimp and calamari had great flavor. I got the seabass sandwich with carrots as my side for my main course. The seabass sandwich was cooked to perfection. The fish had a slight crisp crunch on the outside and was tender and flaky when you bit into it. The bread was ciabatta and the inside was grilled. It also had a crisp crunch on the inside, and it was fresh and warm throughout. The carrots had perfect presentation and a great buttery flavor.
The only thing that could have been improved was the slow server.
Ambiance was clean, cozy, and trendy.
Even with the slow server- still 5 stars on any scale because of the amazing food.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jan 1, 2024
This restaurant has a nice ambiance, most of the staff seemed friendly enough. I started with a craft mocktail and the calamari. Both were very tasty.
For my entree, I ordered the steak frites, which came with fries and green beans. The fries were delicious! Maybe some of the best fries I've ever had. The green beans were also good. But the steak... was not good at all. Taste was non existent and it was almost newspaper or clay like in texture (maybe overcooked? I ordered medium). I decided to order some cheesecake to-go and was shocked to receive this tiny slice in my container. Taste wise, it was okay.
All in all, this place had enough going for it that I'll probably come back. But some elements left me unimpressed with this first experience.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chelly S.Jacksonville, FL1435914Apr 22, 2024Updated review
A friend and I had lunch at Bistro Aix last Friday for my birthday.. The food was excellent and the waiter was delightful. We had a wonderful time. I highly recommend Bistro Aix for a special occasion lunch. Though the decor hasn't changed in a while, I find it very attractive and have high hopes that Limoncello will also come up to standard.

Service was excellent but the wait for the main course was too long. The French Onion soup and Steak Frites were excellent, lamb was really good and the DUCK portion was so small it could have only satisfied the appetite of a four year old. The duck was very disappointing...no sides, no nothing. Hey guys, super expensive, tiny portion, beautifully presented dish California craze is over!
This restaurant has lost it's sheen for me. It needs to be redecorated and the menu and portion sizes need to be reexamined. The cheesecake was excellent. Server couldn't be beat. He was great! - 2947136Nov 15, 2023
Went to Bistro Aix to celebrate my birthday!
Service was great! We we're running a little late so we called to give a heads up they assured us they would still seat us.
Once we got their our server was very nice and quick to help us.
I ordered Aix marks the spot as a drink, it was a little sour for my personal taste, but it wasn't unbearable and I did finish it.
We got the mozzarella caprese for an appetizer, very delicious. It had a pesto and balsamic glaze to accompany the tomato and mozzarella.
I went with the xoise duck and it definitely did not disappoint! I cleaned my plate to say the least.
They made my Birthday dessert super special!! I wasn't sure which dessert I wanted, so I said to surprise me. They went with a lava cake with added macarons as a nice extra touch!
Overall great place to celebrate an anniversary or birthday. Lightning was perfect to capture our pictures from the table.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Emmaline F.SoMa, San Francisco, CA53082Mar 2, 2024
The apps on Valentines Day were superb...I forgot to take pictures with full plates and missed taking one of the buratta. Apps were amazing and paired well with the prosecco for an early afternoon tasting.

Even though I'm a native Floridian, this was going to be my very first visit to Jacksonville (at least, my first time where I didn't drive straight through the city on my way out of the state). My husband and I had tickets to see Jurassic Park in concert at the Jacksonville Symphony, so we wanted to get dinner before the show. When we searched for restaurants nearby, Bistro AIX looked promising, so we made a reservation for 5 p.m. when they opened since our show was at 7.
Our waiter was also the restaurant's sommelier, and when we told him our wine preferences, he made suggestions that we both thought were spot-on for each of us. We started off with the burrata, which on the menu says, "See Server." It apparently changes as a sort of special. This particular one came with mixed greens, asparagus and a balsamic glaze, as well as crostinis. I wonder how many people leave the greens as a garnish, but I happily ate this as a mini salad since the balsamic served as a lovely dressing.
We also each got a bowl of French onion soup, which was delicious, and then split the Steak Frites Au Poivre entree, which the restaurant divided onto two plates for us. They normally cook the steak medium-rare, but I had asked for it to be done medium (I prefer medium-well, my husband prefers medium-rare, so we thought we would split the difference). My husband ate the parts that were still too rare for my liking, and I took his slightly more done parts (there wasn't much). If I'd ordered this on my own instead of splitting, I would've asked for this to be made medium-well. But thankfully I still had plenty to eat with the rest of the meal. I will say though, that brandy shallot cream sauce that came with the steak was divine.
For dessert, we shared their creme brulee, which was fantastic -- very light and delicate. Normally I can take or leave creme brulee, but this one ranks up there as one of the best I've had in a while.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
