I was somewhat suspicious from some reviews I read, but a friend wanted to go so sure, I'll go.
The decor is lacking.  The silverware was indeed real silver, but it had been polished way too much to the point of scratched and tarnished.  The manager was a bit batty and the service was slooooooow.
That said, the balsamic dressing on the salad was excellent.
I had the duck and duck can be difficult to prepare.  It was wonderful.  My friend's fish tasted a bit fishy but she really liked it.
I had the chocolate pate for dessert.  It was like a stiff chocolate mousse.  It was quite good and i enjoyed it.
For the price, the place was good.
It was about $63 for 2 people for dinner with 2 entrees, 2 desserts and 2 glasses of wine.
The food for the price gets 4 stars.  However, if you aren't in the mood to be in a place that looks like it was decorated by Miss Havisham from Great Expectations and into the rundown kitsch of the gazebo, then probably elsewhere.
They also have a bar/tavern attached and the burgers weren't available on my menu, but they were available there and it looked good.

a few years ago I was getting married on the cape and was looking for a good but cheap place for a rehearsal dinner. I saw place after place, did a lot of research via the web and ended up picking this both for it's good proximity to the wedding site, price, and over all atmosphere and menu.
The food was excellent. We had 3 things to pick from, lobster, steak or cod. No one got the cod, but I heard great things about the steak, and I loved my lobster. it was super cheap and looked nice! When we were done, some of us went to the bar and continued the night, while others drove off into the sunset.
it gets some points off for the woman coordinating the dinner (who's also the owner) was a little senile, but after a few repeats of slow talking, she got my needs and executed them brilliantly! There was an unfortunate leak in the main dining hall, but that did not effect us what so ever.
two years later I was staying close by and asked the hotel desk man where a good place was for dinner. He said anywhere but Bishop's terrace! I was surprised since my big dinner (45 people) was perfect. They were closed so I couldn't get in to see if things had changed, but it's something to be weary of I suppose.

I'd like to give this place 4 1/2 stars!
