3 reviews for Birthday World
Well, I can finally check Birthday World off my list. It is like a Chuck E. Cheese but with midway-type kiddie rides and bounce houses. It was a little too mature for my toddler but in a few years he'll be able to get full use out of it. We visited on a Friday afternoon and we pretty much had the place to ourselves, which was great. I couldn't imagine this place on a Saturday afternoon with birthday parties in full swing. No thanks.
For $5 the kiddo got unlimited rides and bounces, adults are free. He was too small to ride most of the rides by himself. The only things that adults can ride are the carousel and bumper cars (Bumper cars cost an extra $2pp). So we took him on the carousel a few times and he loved watching the little train roller coaster go around. There are some token operated games as well as a snack bar. The day we were there the snack bar was closed so when we ordered pizza it came from Brother's next door.
When I saw their sign I initially thought that this was just another party store designed to take your birthday party from "wow" to "extraordinary." But after mere moments of being there, I realized that it's a very special place for kids regardless if it's their birthday or not. Because as they say, it's a place "where everyday is your birthday."
Inside kids and parents will find a mini-amusement park catered towards birthday parties and special events. Their mascot, Bosko, will be your guide to bounce activities, a glowing putt-putt course, carnival-like rides, and all the kid food you can imagine. Pizza, hot dogs, ham and cheese sandwiches, ice cream and Italian ice are just a few of the choices that will make your tot a very happy camper. And for the adults will most likely need it, they have a special coffee shop care of Bosko.
The rides they offer aren't too large or too scary which will suit the younger age group very nicely. A tea-cup ride and carousel seem perfect and shouldn't evoke upset stomachs. The bounce houses on the other hand may cause things to jumble around. And as an adult, they are my favorite.
Prices aren't too bad. If you want to walk-in without having a party it will cost each child $10 for unlimited riding and bouncing. For toddlers 2 years old and under it's only $5. Their basic party package starts at $270 and allows for 16 children. If you would like to have more, you have to pay an extra $15 per child. The ultimate package starts at $325 and includes some additional extras like ice cream and a round of mini-golf for everyone attending.
Unfortunately I'm not a kid anymore so the magic of Birthday World is a bit lost on me. But for kids, I would hope that they find it a fun place where they get to bounce off the walls, literally.
Based on the name you would think Birthday World is a place meant for celebrating your special day that happens only once every year. While it could be used for that, Birthday World is family-owned amusement park type of place that was created with the purpose of being a place where families with young children could go to have a fun, safe time together. What a concept!
Trains, flying bananas, rollercoasters and a pretty awesome bounce house greet you upon entering and make for a good time if you and you're kids enjoy rides of this sort. All of the rides are meant for children ages 2 to 12, but I'm pretty sure parents can join in if needed. There are also interactive games throughout the place if that's more of your thing. Either way, there is more than enough to keep your kids occupied for hours on end while you either join in or simply sit, relax and observe from a far. If you get hungry there is a snack bar with carnival food like hot dogs, nachos and french fries. The kind of food kids love of course.
Among other things, Birthday World opens their doors to organizations who are looking to do fundraisers. They offer their facilities and services at discounted rate, depending on the day of the week. Up to 200 guests can fit in the facility and whatever profit you make after the initial price for renting the building is yours to keep for your organization. Also, on various nights and holidays throughout the year, they have special themed events such as family night and Christmas celebrations that offer special incentives and perks for coming.
The prices aren't too bad, far cheaper than the other theme parks in town. As is usual, they offer a special birthday package which includes, 1 1/2 hours at the party table as well as unlimited rides and bounce house, 2 large pizzas, unlimited drinks, colorful tableware and decor, 10 game tokens per child, and a personal server for your party. The cost is $270 and covers up to 15 children and does not include birthday cake. Not bad, but not exactly cheap either. Personally, I'd rather host a party at home and rent a bounce house for cheaper and more fun.
Overall, it's okay.
