I think it is important to know they don't have JUST Birkenstocks there ya know.  In fact,  I love going here because I know all the shoes will be great purchases for my princess and the pea feet.   Dankos, Keens, Earth Shoes, you name it... if it is good comfy shoe, they probably have it.   Not a real fan of Birkenstocks myself actually.

I love that they sold me a pair of super comfy boots on super sale that were in the back on hold for someone else that did not pick them up in time when she said she would.  Good for me, bad for her.   If you put items on hold and say you will be back the next day to pick them up, you better do it or lucky customers like me will snag them up.

I LOVE this store and the great people that run it! Stephanie S. is right - they have a lot more than Birkenstocks (which are not actually my fave either). I love Danskos and the awesome Smart Wool socks the most.

Now, I've thought this was a great store for some time now and have made several purchases there. But today, they proved how great they really are because they actually stand behind their products in a wonderful old school way that I thought was lost forever. I bought my second pair of a Dansko Mary Jane style shoe there recently and the buckle broke after a few months. I was a little irked, but they fixed that no problem. Then, a couple of months later, the insole came out of one of them. I took them in thinking they  would probably agree to fix them, but  really I was hoping that maybe they would replace them. I knew these were great shoes, because I had them before and wore the HELL out of them working 12 hour shifts in a restaurant for a few years. I just felt ripped off because it seemed like my second pair were "lemons." Anyway, the staff barely even let me finish explaining before they went to the back, gave me a shiny new pair and sent me on my way politely and hassle free! Unbelievable. They said Dansko would stand behind them because that should not happen so quickly and that if Dansko did not stand behind them, Birkenstock Midtown would. I love you, Birkenstock Midtown. Now I just want to shop there more.

I was first introduced to Birkenstocks by my hippie uncle who lived in Marin County. I was just a kid back then. I thought they looked pretty cool. Fast forward to today and I'M the hippie uncle with the Birks. Perhaps it's my German ancestry that makes me love these sandals so much. Ich bin ein Berliner! They're extremely comfortable and mold perfectly to my feet. We have wood floors so wearing the Birks in the house is easy on my feet. Pricey house slippers!  I recently purchased a new pair of Birkenstock's at the Midtown store. Birkenstock's aren't cheap, but you may find a great deal if they're having a sidewalk sale. Gobs of different colors and style to fit your tired aching feet. The staff was really helpful and friendly. They were all wearing the comfortable footwear too. Birkenstocks are not just for liberal, pot-smokin hippies....they're for everybody.
