A cute little bakery shop w/ a wall of cookies that takes your breath away. My cousin took me here when I was visiting from LA and I miss it very much.

The cookies, along with the pizza and everything else is all delicious and fresh, as if you(or someone you know who can cook) made it at home a few hours ago.

Cute decor, quiet and nice employees. Try it out in the morning for a wake up or at night for a feel good snack.

My review may not be as valid as some as I only tried the lemonade.

I really like the space they have here.  Huge picture windows look out onto the Village's busy streets.  The interior is old fashioned with lots of 'green' touches that make it modern.  Over all it's a 'cute' place.  The bench against the wall is more for looks than comfort.  It was really not comfortable at all!  I like small stores, but this one was a little uncomfortable as the employee tried to have a private conversation with us in there.

The fresh squeezed lemonade I had heard so much about was just OK.  A little too tart for me.  I want to come back and try the cookies...they looked really good!

OMG. After walking the streets of the West Village, my feet and cheeks got cold! Luckily I stumbled into this precious little bakery and had the most amazing choco-chip cookie of my life! The entire bakery is eco-sustainable, using recycled materials and they even compost their garbage. The sitting area is rather small but cozy - maybe people felt a bit too comfortable though because they continued to talk on their cell phones at full volume! Anyhoo, loved this place and even though I might not make it to the flagship City Bakery, Birdbath might just be enough of a fix.

I got one of each chocolate chip. I couldn't tell which one was vegan, and which one was not. Both devoured in minutes.

Strolling down 7th Ave on my way back from lunch, i thought I'd pick up a few cookies for the hardworking ladies of Yelp NYC and try this much touted bakery in its tiny west-side outpost.  The space is suitably green and crunchy feeling.  Lots of raw woods, a cute display involving their cookies, a nice little seating area (not much though...).

As as for the cookies.  Solid, but not blow-me-away amazing.  We tried the coconut, the chocolate chip, and the chocolate-chocolate chip.  Surprisingly enough the unanimous winner was the Coconut.  So, points for good cookies, eco-friendliness and cuteness.  I'll probably be back to sample the rest of the goods soon enough.

Organic. Green. Friendly staff. Vegan treats. I'm a big fan.

VEGAN COOKIES ($2.50)
The oatmeal raisin cookie is perfection. Possibly the best vegan cookie in the city. It has the right amount of crispiness with just a hint of chewiness. I like it more than the melt-in-your mouth vegan chocolate chip cookie, which is also good. Neither taste vegan. They are also available at the City Bakery at 5th Ave and 18th.

VEGAN RASPBERRY MUFFINS ($3, $1 after 3pm)
I buy two at a time - they're a delicious snack

VEGAN BANANA-SESAME AGAVE CAKE ($4)
Dense, crunchy, chewy and not too sweet. Looks almost like a muffin and tastes kind of healthy but I probably shouldn't eat it for breakfast ... regularly. NY Magazine awarded it "Best Vegan Treat"

SMOKED TOFU AND HUMMUS HALF SANDWICH ($4)
Great if you want a little protein

Open daily until 10pm

My friend and I stopped in here with bakery cravings, and they were fulfilled.

In comparison to the East Village location, this is far cuter and more spacious, with a comfortable seating area complete with benches, a center table covered with magazines and a few other things, and a tall bookcase filled with books like "Green Eggs and Ham" as well as various vases and jars of honey.

The girl behind the counter was probably in the stinging rays of the sun all day based on where she was standing, and due to the stuffiness of the place despite an open door, I can see why it affected her mood; she seemed tired, uninterested, and a little stand-offish, but there were instances in which she seemed to be pretty nice.

But hey, whatever; I only give a damn about the food in the end. For one dollar each we were able to have two wonderful muffins. My friend, an aficianado of the blueberry muffin, regarded their's as moist, replete with blueberries, and with a crusty outer shell that revealed surprises within.

I enjoyed my humungo Baker's muffin. It's exceedingly crunchy/crispy on the outside with a surface that appears to be made from pecans (if you can picture that) and is lightly dusted with powdered sugar. Made from brioche, it almost looks like a bread pudding muffin, and as I reached the center I discovered a core filled with chopped apples, raisins, and the occasional walnut or two, all of which were moist. In many ways, the muffin is a great contrast of textures and even flavors...it's an enigma.

Also give the banana sesame agave-sweetened cake a try ($4). A cylindrical, golden brown, sesame-studded confection, it has a crunch that lasts down to its core, and is pleasantly subtle on the sucrose.

I love the concept and I love the space, but I should have went with the cookies since there were 100's of them stacked up on the counter and the shelving behind the counter.

i went for the raspberry bran muffin. I'm not a fan of bran... But I thought I'd try it anyway. Meh... Not my thing... But I went in after 3pm, so the muffin that normally costs $3, was only $1. Woo Hoo!!

I also got an iced Farmer's Lemonade. Basically, it's organic heavy cream with lemonade. Pretty damn good, but VERY tart. It is made from freshly squeezed lemons after all.

I wish I had a chance to go back and try their cookies. Maybe on my next trip...

Wonderful muffins and scones!

Usually I do not eat muffins...  except Birdbath's muffins.
They have a great combination of tastes in harmony.

Brought you to by the fine folks at City Bakery, this bakery has walls made of wheat and cups made of corn.   The facility is powered by wind and they make their deliveries in a bicycle rickshaw.  But that's not why you should eat their stuff. You should eat their stuff because the oatmeal raisin cookie literally melts in my mouth.  You should eat their stuff because they offer tasty sesame-banana-agave muffins that are filling enough to be lunch.

And get this!  If you pull up on a bike or a skateboard, you get 25% off.

There's an East Village location, too.

I'm a bit confused about this "green" bakery but a friend who is a converted Organic fiend persuaded me to try Birdbath out. I have never been a fan of City Bakery and so I never cared to come here since they're under the same ownership. I find City Bakery to be overrated and overpriced.

I swung by here earlier today to pick up some breakfast muffins and cookies. It's a charming little shop and the staff was helpful and polite.

I am sorry to say I forgot the names of the scone and muffin I bought but I can say the scone was moist and really tasty! I was a bit surprised because I am used to scones that are super dry that requires drinking a gallon of liquid to help it down. NOT this scone, it was moist and soft and super tasty! I wish I could say the same for the muffin I bought which was very similar to the dry scone I am normally used to. It tasted like hemp and just didn't taste right.

I wouldn't say I'll be frequenting Birdbath regularly but I'll certainly keep it in mind when I am craving a muffin!

Excellent blueberry cornmeal muffins. Excellent. Scones very dry and cookie   selection was pretty slim.  Really cute wall display which makes you think they will have lot's of cookie choices to chose from. The seating is not comfortable and could easily be. Worst was no music on! It looked like they had speakers but instead you sat staring across the low table ( with lot's of leftover newspapers to read-which is nice) at the couple that was there before you acting like you somehow moved in on their "'special" bakery! Music would have made them more relaxed! Seems like they have a pretty slim selection so go for blueberry cornmeal muffins!

I've always wondered about the whole "green bakery" concept.  I know the store is green but if their goods are baked at City Bakery - isn't that defeating the purpose?

Anyway, they have delicious coconut cookies, crunchy on the edges and soft in the middle.  Oddly, I don't like their chocolute chip cookies - same ones from City Bakery - just too soft and uncooked for me.  They also have a nice nut tart, bearclaw thing.   Wish they would bring down some pretzel croissants.

They are nice enough to leave out a dog bowl with water.

I love this place. The raspberry vegan muffins, cookies, and blueberry cornbread are so great! Service is grumpy. I'd go there more often if they were nicer.

very very cute baby clothes for sale in this place(no they don't bake babies, that would be sick).

surprisingly, the vegan chocolate chip cookie that i had to get because they ran out of the ordinary chocolate chip cookies tasted better than the normal one that has butter and milk and eggs, all the good stuff that should make it taste awesome. i found it too sugary, same with the double chocolate chip cookie. it tasted like excessive sucrose in my mouth.

the ice tea tastes... like any ordinary unsweetened ice tea. good tea, but just... you know, not that significant.

the ice slushy mocha thing tastes thick and nice though. I'll swing by for it when it gets hot again, or when i'm craving for it!

just go to check out a bakery with awesome cookies and cute baby clothes in the same space.

:-)
