Amazing Yoga experience here last friday.

Tried the candelight yoga class, because it was a holiday weekend I think most people were out partying, so it turned out to be me and one other person. The studio was a warm 85 degrees, which was perfect. Not unbearably sweltering like at some studios just warm enough.

Instead of cancelling the class the instructor put on an amazing class that was exilerating, regenerating and fun. Making some corrections to the positions so you could get the full benefit of the posture and she even through in a little active release pressure at the end. Could not have asked for anything more.

Love the studio itself it's clean organized with a small boutique, and a hardwood floor studio.

The energy is great, studio is top notch lots of parking even though it's PB Mission Beach area, not actually in Birdrock.

Love this place will come here again.

My friend and I wanted to go on a yoga retreat, but that didn't work out.  We decided to travel to Pacific Beach from Washington, DC and stumbled upon Bird Rock Yoga's $25 unlimited yoga weeklong pass.  What a deal!
Both of us are relatively new to yoga and found the studio to be lovely and instructors fantastic.  I have taken a few good classes in DC, but also a few weird ones with impatient, ego-centric instructors.

We took the following classes: Candlelight Yoga, Healing Restorative Yoga, Vinyasa, and Yoga on the Beach.  We were challenged, invigorated, and relaxed.  We were grateful to have been taught the correct method for breathing in at least three of the classes.  It really changed our experience for the better.  Each instructor was friendly and answered our many questions.  Needless to say, our beach vacation was made even more enjoyable by Bird Rock Yoga!

Bird Rock Yoga is heaven! I started taking classes at this serene little studio in Pacific Beach in 2009 and am still in love with the space. The instructors are all top quality and each brings a unique contribution to the BRY community. The studio has a relaxing ocean vibe an offers specialty classes like Surfer's Flow and Candlelight Restorative yoga.

My favorite thing about Bird Rock Yoga is the friendly, tight knit community that has evolved over the years and the fact that the studio does minimal advertising, so yogis who stumble upon the studio do so organically. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a class at Bird Rock!

I have been going to Bird Rock Yoga now for over a year. I started with V's 11:00am class and I was hooked instantly:)
I am honored to be a part of this yoga community, and that is EXACTLY what Bird Rock is...a community of cool yogis that enjoy a calm, cool atmosphere. It is a perfect smaller studio tucked away, yet the effects of the classes impact in a major way!
I have attended all of the classes and tried out every teacher there. They all have their own unique style and pace. It is so valuable.
I get the workout that I need, but also I learn so much every day. My head space is so clear too! It is never too crowded, they have all kinds of fun workshops available to you. I am so pleased with this studio right by my house!! Thanks for all you do, BRY, hearts!

I love bird rock yoga! I was a member for about a year when I first moved to PB. Then, I thought I would "shop around" for studios since I hadn't really experienced many others. Well, it made me appreciate bird rock that much more! It's a small studio, very calming and full of positive energy. The instructors push you without making it feel like "boot camp."

The only con is the scheduling. It's a small studio, so you have to plan around their schedule. And, no early morning classes before work. :(

This is the real deal - Bird Rock honors the real practice of yoga and offers a mix of classes that fit every skill level.  I've taken 3 so far and love Zoe's on Sunday at 11. A true blend of the physical with the breathing - the first time I have ever not dreaded the quiet time at the end of yoga.  Zoe offered just enough of a challenging class, with lots of vinyasa flow but enough modifications for anyone who might not be as experienced.  I have really tight hips from running and this helps immensley and also provides a profound sense of relaxation afterwards - better than a glass of wine!  So glad to have found this  place!

I love this yoga studio!  I've sampled yoga classes in a bunch of places and am so happy to have found Bird Rock to settle into for my yoga practice.

There is a laid-back, comfortable, and friendly feel to this studio, which isn't always the case in other places.  The instructors are helpful and fun, I like the combination of standard flows with new poses, and it's a great integration of mind, body, and spirit with a rigorous workout.  They have some good price deals and their class schedule works well for me.

Plus I'm able to ride my bike there and be environmentally-conscious too :)

After sampling 3-4 yoga studios in the San Diego area, Bird Rock was definitely one of my favorites.

Location is amazing ((near the beach)), parking is abundant, the instructors and students were all very friendly. The studio itself is dimly lit and lined with candles....

My favorite class was with Laura, I'm not sure I've ever felt so good after a yoga class as I did after her class. Her instruction was clear, stimulating, intense, yet very relaxing. During Savasana, she placed a beaded bag over my eyes and surrounded me in the essence of aromatherapy which induced the most relaxing/productive Savasana I have ever experienced.

I flew in from San Francisco last Thursday to be greeted by my beautiful and talented friend Tina who is a student teacher at Bird Rock Yoga. She inspires me, and inspired me right into the lobby of Bird Rock Yoga just hours off my plane.

If you have never been to Bird Rock Yoga it is an adorable studio, super clean and calming environment. The instructors are so friendly. One in particular is Luke. Even though the day after I was cursing his name out of pain, I had the best yoga class I have ever taken. I don't go regularly and mentioned to Luke before the class that I was a novice. He reminded me that the breath is important and to focus on that. His class was engaging, fun but challenging, he is laid back but pushes you and not afraid to correct. I was sweaty and exhausted but left the studio feeling like I could take on the world.

I came home and looked up yoga studios near me as a result of this one class. I am hooked! I recommend this studio to anyone!

Bird Rock Yoga is my favorite studio.  I also go to Core Power, mostly because they have a lot of pre-work 6:30 and 7am classes and that's when I typically go.  But every time I go to Bird Rock I remember why I love it so much more.

The instructors really know their stuff and they have unique styles, so every class feels fresh and challenging.  I personally love Cynthia's Sat 11am class, and I just went to Miranda at 6:45pm Monday and am hooked.

They're pretty hands on with the adjustments, and always encourage you to do poses that are unfamiliar and new.  I always walk out feeling stoked that I did something new and/or out-there.

I've been practicing regularly for 3 years and for someone at that level I recommend Surfer's Flow or Vinyasa 2.  I must say I do miss the old instructors from the Mission Blvd location - they were a bit more traditional and a great entry point to yoga for me.

I've been going to Bird Rock Yoga for two years, and it is the best yoga studio that I have found in San Diego.  All of the teachers are great, especially Julie, Laura, and Luke.  I always get a great workout and feel energized after each class.  The instructors offer helpful adjustments and challenging options to help refine my practice.

I recently joined birdrock yoga, adding yoga to my preseason ski conditioning program.  Being a complete novice to yoga I have been pleased with the attentiveness and instruction of the teachers.  The staff creates a very pleasant, encouraging atmosphere for all levels.  I look forward to transitioning the flexibility, conditioning and balance practiced in class to shredding the mountain this winter.

I am a newbie to yoga, and I'm so glad I picked Bird Rock Yoga as my studio! This is a really warm and welcoming community. I have to give big kudos to Jenny who teaches the Vinyasa Level 1 class on Thursday evenings. She has helped me immensely! I think she has made all the difference in sticking it out this first couple weeks since it is challenging getting started. I feel like its a whole mind/body experience taking her class, she connects with her students. I love the atmosphere and instruction here. There certainly are many advanced students but I also know I am in the company of beginners like myself so there is camaraderie in learning together. I like how its not too hot here, just a nice warm studio- I think its perfect. If you live in or near PB, come check it out!

This is a great yoga studio, the instructors are all good so far.  I signed up for a month and am planning on doing more through out the year.  A really good experience in the classes.
The only reason it is not a five star is that twice in the past month I've shown up to the class and it ended up being canceled after I got there because not enough people showed up.

Bird Rock Yoga was an amazing experience for me.  I went two days in a row to Vinyasa Yoga classes here and found my all time favorite yoga studio in San Diego.  Not only were classes challenging, but they were focused and had amazing flow.  Julie on Monday morning had amazing heart and a kick ass class as well as Laura on Tuesday...I felt completely energized, at peace and worked out.

I started going to Bird Rock Yoga on a regular basis nine months ago.  I was a total beginner and way out of shape when I started. The instructors are professional and accomodating to different abilities. They also encourage everyone to go at their own intensity and not judge themselves based on what their neighbors are doing and to take a break if needed.
They offer alternate poses and modifications during class from beginner to advanced and really care if you are doing them right. They will come around and adjust students so you do them correctly and do not injure yourself. I really like the adjustments, I had no idea what I was doing in the beginning, so I really appreciated the individual attention they give the students.
The classes were challenging for the first few months but the more I went the easier/more fluid it got. Its a full body workout- I have lost inches off my waist and toned everything up, my clothes fit better and I feel better.  I have progressed in my practice since I started and never imagined even in my wildest dreams some of the poses I can do now.
It also helps me relax after a rough day at work. I am a high strung east coaster with a stressful job and yoga helps me let it go.
The instructors are friendly and availible to answer any questions you have after classes.   I couldn't be happier with my experience at Bird Rock Yoga. They also have retail-mats, books, accesories, clothes-anything you would need to practice in the studio. I bought a grippy towel mat from them and its awesome-keeps me from slip sliding when sweaty.

I do not have the opportunity to get to BIrd Rock Yoga as much as I would like, but every chance I have a minute I love to visit this studio.  Verena is an amazing and inspirational yoga teacher.  She has a calming yet energetic way to get you to smile and enjoy each pose keeping the vibe light and flowing!  The new renovations make the studio a place that you want to hang out and meditate or just soak in all the color and appreciate life!  I highly recommend this studio for all levels!

I can't say enough good things about Bird Rock Yoga.  To start, they are about as welcoming I can imagine.  I have gone to about 8 classes now, and am always amazed how warm and helpful the instructors are.  I work a pretty high stress job up to 80 hours a week and have found that I have an enriched sense of calm and focus to my days since I started to go to yoga, despite that I will occasionally miss a week or two when work is busy.  In addion, not once have I felt inexperienced or inferior to the other people in class with me.  I also feel that the prices are reasonable and going regularly isn't a financial burden.

I particularly love Julie's classes and think she is wonderful...each class is fresh, and she is incredibly helpful.  I also like Kristen's Thursday night class.  She plays great music, and there is a really great energy to the group that usually comes.

Anyway, I truly love this studio and plan to continue going for a long time.

I took my first Bird Rock Yoga class last week because I am thinking of taking their yoga teacher training. Studio was easy to get to with ample parking. Heather and Julie greeted me at the front and were both very pleasant people to talk to. The studio was warm but not overly hot. I would say a good 80 degrees which is the perfect temperature for yoga. It helps the body relax and move into the poses. I have been to Core Power Yoga and Sculpt Fusion Yoga and both have the rooms too heated for me. I was sweating before I even put my mat down. The class at Bird Rock was an all level class with vinyasa flow movement. I felt like I got a great workout and felt more at home here than other studios I have tried.  I'm definitely going to check out their teacher training program.

I really love this studio. I've had some fantastic classes here and would recommend it to anyone. The instructors are some of the loveliest people who are great yogis but also like to have fun, the room is heated nicely and has mirrors which I think helps me and my practice. They also offer a free week to get you started, but look out, that's how I got hooked!

Like others who have reviewed BRY, I can't say enough good things about this amazing studio.  The atmosphere is perfect - classes are intimate but rarely overcrowded.  From the novice yogi to the 30+ year practitioner, the studio has something to offer everyone.  Also, I am constantly impressed by the staff.  Heather (the owner), in addition to being a great teacher also surrounds herself with a staff of truly exceptional, passionate and enlightened instructors.  I look forward to every class!  If you're looking for the best studio in town, look no further.

I'm pretty sure this place saved my life during a hellishly stressful week of finals this semester, so I decided to create a yelp account just to rave about it. I am a beginner and had been going to a different yoga studio in SD for a month or so, but it wasn't until I started going to Bird Rock that I felt like I was hooked...the classes are smaller, and the instructors seem to really pay attention to where everyone is in their practice - and they're not afraid to push you a little if they think you're ready. Also, they put cute little eye pillows on you during sivasana...and who doesn't love little eye pillows??
