Nice neighborhood place with good (not great) quality food, but really overpriced for what it is. Wish they would make slightly smaller portion sizes and lower the prices to be more in line with a neighborhood restaurant that one could drop by on a more regular basis.
I moved from Baltimore 2 years ago, but I still dream about dinner at Birches. It's a cozy neighborhood joint, where the food is great but the people are better. I would tell you what my favorite meal is there, but honestly, I'd just list the entire menu.
Check it out. Take a friend or friends and relax. The food is cooked to order and it's actually a restaurant that isn't trying to get you in and out in 15 mins (which is nice). Some of the best conversations I can remember (barely) were over one too many beers at Birches. I'd go there tomorrow if I could teleport from Charlotte to Canton.
I highly recommend the "Keith man cometh" for obvious reasons. Check it out.
I had been to Birches a handful of times over the past three years and always found it to be a cozy, neighborhood establishment with class and good taste. Comfort food and fantastic entrees always on the menu.
I just recently hosted a surprise birthday dinner there for 14 people and I was blown away by the quality of the food. The chef is also the owner and runs the place with his wife. He accommodated all of my requests and each person raved all night about the appetizers, then their meal. Truly an outstanding evening. I will be back and I continue to spread the word!!!
The only negative that I hear often is the long wait for your food to be prepared. I have never had an issue with this because I enjoy the extra time to talk to my fellow diners. It is listed on the menu that everything is made to order, so be patient...it is MOST definitely worth the wait!
