Is there any score less than 1 star? We wish there was.
This was the final night of our honeymoon...we thought we would just stop where ever we got tired and Manitowoc was that place! There seemed to be an event in the area for the weekend so after checking each hotel in the area and finding they were all listing for over $100 +/night to stay in Manitowoc, WI of all places, we thought the Birch Creek Inn was a steal for around $40. Boy were we wrong! This place was the WORST either of us had ever experienced.
Let's list off the "great" features: 1) Fly-swatters everywhere for your personal use; 2) the tub was SO disgusting the Mrs. did not even want to take a shower; 3) "Complimentary" samples of Oil of Olay, shampoo, etc...the ones that come in the mail for promotions...SERIOUSLY!; 4) Envelope on the top of the toilet tank for a tip..."Our Staff works hard to keep your room clean." - Were they serious?!?!? If so, they forgot to clean this room for like 10 years! 5)"Club house" for the "continental breakfast" which first of all smelled like an old lady had died in there - - again sample packs as well as granola bars, oatmeal packs and nothing you would ever want to actually put into your body for fear of death.
The only redeemable and notable part of our stay with Birch Creek Inn was our DEPARTURE....YEA!!!! Guess you get what you pay for...but even still we feel like we were ripped off. Next time we will just sleep in the car.
